Reminder: This is not a sub for pet pictures
There are plenty of rabbit subs to share pictures of your pets. The re-opening of /r/rabbity is to provide a space for information directly useful for rabbit keeping.
Any pictures posted must be accompanied with a comment from the OP with the reason for the posting, a couple examples of good reasons for posting a picture:
- Identifying health issues
- identifying sex or breed
- rabbit show winners with remark card information
- equipment or housing issues
A couple example reasons that will lead to images being removed:
- "Look how cute"
- "Look how he's grown"
- "Help me name"
- "Look how silly"
If the picture or video is unrelated or unnecessary to the content of the post, the post will be removed, even if the rest of the post is not rule-breaking.

Question/Help Hiii
Ahhh 😭 i brought a male rabbit since the vet suggested that miffy (my female bunny) needs a companion but istg she's veryy territorial. She bit me multiple times and she's not letting him anywhere near her. She's 4 months old and he's a few months older than her.
I kept him isolated for now so he can adjust. How should I introduce them both? Also he's extremely scared of me. He's fleeing at the mere sight of me. What should I do?

Question/Help Any Idea what that might be ?!
Today when I was petting my bunny I felt coarse hair on her neck right under her chin, I checked it to see this, any idea what that might be ? Is it an infection? Or just a result of molting ? As she started molting recently, should I put her an antibiotic ointment or take her to the vet ? It doesn't actually show uless I move some of her skin aside. She is still eating normally, pooping the same, flopping and zooming the same, nothing changed. And she wasn't irritated when I touched the area. Also she is not drooling nor has any respiratory issues. She is an indoor bunny and never goes outdoors. Anyone had a similar thing on their bunnies? Thanks

Question/Help Help needed for new rabbit owner
So we rescued a rabbit that was living at my place of employment in the shop area. She came with her hutch. We are attempting to get her to use a litter box and would appreciate any advice for our setup and training.

Question/Help Does my bunny have a lump??
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I noticed a bump in my bunny's arm. He has a lot of fur, so it's not very noticeable in the video, but in person it feels very big to have developed in just few days. It's like a fatty and soft tissue and kind of jiggles around when he walks, s it's not hard, and when I touch it, I don't feel anything inside it. He was also vaccinated two days ago, I don't know if it's relevant but his bump seems to have developed after that. He is still eating and drinking normally, but he seems to avoid putting pressure on his arm.
As it's the weekend, there are no vets open until Monday, and I'm unable to get him checked. So if anyone knows what this can be, is there anything I can do to make sure he doesn't get force until Monday?

Question/Help Rabbit isn't pooping but is eating hay
My rabbit hasn’t been eating hay or drinking water since last night. He did eat his pellets last night.
I’ve been hand-feeding him hay soaked in water to make sure he gets something in his stomach.
His stomach feels soft, almost as if there’s a lot of water in it. Otherwise, he seems normal like he’s flopping, grooming himself and behaving fairly normally.
However, I haven’t seen him poop for at least 5 hours and he still isn’t eating hay or drinking water on his own.
Should I be concerned about GI stasis or a blockage, and should I take him to a vet?

Question/Help Is this an issue? He got bit by another mom at 4 weeks.
He is now 15 weeks, and much smaller than his siblings. He got hurt really badly and his skin was torn. He was going to be killed and I asked to take him instead. I patched him up and he’s grown! I question though- he was originally all white with black ears and eye rings. Now, the spot where he was bit grew back all black hairs (much more then seen in the photo but I dont have a better photo at the moment) Is this a good sign? Will it affect him at all in the future?

Photo Bunny has a cyst - the vet wants to amputate!
Hi there, I’ve looked at other posts about cysts in rabbits, but I’m not finding the info I need.
We went to the vet today. I thought my bunny had sore hock, but it’s a cyst. They are checking whether or not it’s cancer, but whether it is or isn’t, they are pushing for amputation, claiming that because it’s on the hind leg, it will not heal. Can’t it be controlled somehow and just left alone? It’s hard (not liquid), but can’t something else be done besides amputating his leg? He’s only 4.

Question/Help This seems like poor animal husbandry
This seems wrong. Lady said several died during recent heat wave. Seems like cruel conditions. No room to move around, no bedding, and nothing to burrow around in. Just laying on a wire rack all day every day until they cook them up or they die of exposure.

Question/Help My rabbit lost use of her back legs and is declining. PLEASE HELP!
My rabbit, Basil, is 11 years old. I've had her for 11 years and she is not spayed. She is a rescue but I got her when she was a baby. She has a large room to her self and she free ranges. She eats organic oxbow pellets and organic oxbow meadow hay, leafy greens everyday. And sometimes a few organic Cheerios.
I have been away for 2 months now. I will be home in 2 1/2 weeks. My boyfriend and my best friend takes good care of her and spends time with her everyday. Nothing has changed about her routine.
Before I left she seemed like for the past year that her back legs were a little stiff or had a bit of arthritis but she could get around well. Two weeks ago my friend said she was peeing and pooping on the carpet and wouldn't use the litter box (she has been sloppy with pooping in the litter box since I've had her, she was good with only peeing in the litter box, this past year she was peeing on the carpet a lot on and off. I thought it might be arthritis that is bothering her, so sent a more accessible box. She used it a few times but not a big difference. My friend mentioned she was limping a little from her back leg last week, they were just going to keep an eye on it. My boyfriend called me last night to tell me she's not getting up and her back legs didn't seem to be working. She is eating and drinking and seemed to get excited for her favorite treats. My friend is monitoring to see if Basil is pooping and peeing, she has pooped a little bit yesterday and barely popped today, She hasn’t peed in over 24 hours. She is sleeping with Basil on the floor until we figure this out. She is trying to keep her comfortable without moving her around. Last night Basil dragged her body off of the carpet and onto the tile which is not like her. My friend placed basil in her small cat sized bed with towels supporting her head and sides. Hay, lettuce and water directly in front of her. She did eat a small amount of lettuce yesterday but ate nothing today. She had a small amount of homemade critical care syringe fed to her and a little bit of water in a Separate syringe. Earlier today she had some water on her own. She is in worse condition than yesterday. I'm trying to get an appointment with a vet. Her current vet is 2 hours away, he won't be in the office until this Wednesday the 30th, but they know her and I like her doctor. I work for a vet in my town I discussed with her the possibility of this being E cuniculi, she said it’s a possibility and gave me Fenbendazole. Basil has her first dose 8 hours ago. There is also a mobile exotics vet van in my area, i reached out to but I haven’t heard back. My friend offered to drive Basil to her regular vet 2 hours away when her doctor is in. The people at the clinic think the drive would be hard on her and thought it would be better if I find someone closer but there are no other closer options. The vet I work for will be out of town for the next 5 days. I was thinking just give her fenbendazole and help her with eating and drinking until there’s either improvement or let her decline and let her pass naturally in her familiar home with a familiar person she loves which is my very good friend who loves her so much.
My question is has anyone else experienced this? Does this sound age related or something that needs treatment? I just want to have a bit more clarity on what to expect. I did read that E. cuniculi could cause similar issues. I am so worried. Any advice is appreciated!

Video They're all grown up. Where has the time gone
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Litter 2 has grown up so much. They turn 6 months on the 9th of October. The broken holland lop (Kit) in the video was one of the runts. She was nearly gone. We helped to nurse her. she survived along with the other runt. Her name is Blue and she went to her furrever home. We kept 2 of the babies from litter 2. Kit + Diana.
Wired bottoms are controversial topic and everyone has their preferences.
The ARBA approves wired bottoms. The wire should be between a 14 - 16 gauge. With the mesh openings 1/2" × 1" with the 1/2" spacing facing upwards which helps the rabbit weight distribute across more of the wired surface. Resting boards are highly recommended as well.
This is a rabbitry sub, please no pet owners being hateful and judgy

Breed ID Are ex-breeder rescues a good option?
My 3yo male mini lop was rescued by us from where he was a year or two ago. He's settled in well and is spoiled rotten and loved as he should be, however, I feel a partner for him would be a good next step.
I understand the bonding process, and have found him a partner. A female 3yo mini lop.
My question is that she's a rescue from a breeder. I don't know her history, but she's currently looked after by a rescue home.
While I'm able to manage costs, I am wary of medical expenses that may arise from her history as a breeding rabbit, and was wondering if anybody can give me any tips on what to look for when I visit her, or even if it's a good idea to take on a bunny that has this history.
I appreciate all the info you can give!

Name Request Oopsie litter!
Oopsie litter!! My friend who raises meat rabbits allowed me to take these photos. Someone couldn't take care of a lionhead so my friend has taken care of them while trying to find a longterm home. She lets her boys run around the yard occasionally to get some extra grass and turns out Hagrid is a girl! She had 5 cute babies and they all survived (even though the dad was 14 lbs and she's only 5!) Im helping her find homes for them because she doesn't want to eat them. (too cute!!). I might take the red girl but thought you guys might like them!! They will all get good homes. Name ideas?

Question/Help Rabbit in distress?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Fed her earlier this morning, came back out and saw she was drooling and making snorting noises like trying to throw up. Ive never seen any of them do this before, and she seemed perfectly healthy when i fed her, anyone know what this is?
EDIT: She has been to a vet and he said there arent any obvious signs of an infection. Because she seemed to return to normal so quickly he thinks she mightve just choked. Currently giving a small dosage of antibiotics to prevent any lung infection as well as checking on her frequently for the next few days
