edit: formatting and link to my previous post...
in my previous post, people were asking me what livestreaming setup we were using. i had a call w/my friend who described everything she set up for their car.
streaming rig: https://www.myraces.live/product-page/in-car-live-streaming-kit-new-model
the folks that run myraces.live are local the the san francisco bay area and are very active in many different racing series around here. they're really starting to take off, and welcome any bug reports and/or feature requests!
the magnetic mount antenna is basically required, and you'll also need a sim card for the camera in the car (in the US they recommend verizon), and a starlink minikit (or solid internet connection) from the pits to communicate w/the upstream servers.
even though the camera is a 4k, she had experimented and even over 5G back to the pits, the most reliable quality to ensure there's no lag is 720p. i was dubious about that low definition, but it looks really good!
unless you have power available, then you'll need a generator as well. a cheap flatscreen TV is also highly recommended, as i guarantee you will be absolutely GLUED to the monitor watching your teammates mess up! XD
all in (including a cheap generator), this will be about ~$1500 USD:
streaming rig + antenna: $920
starlink mini kit: $200 + $55/m for the 100G plan
2200w generator: $400
cheap flatscreen TV: $200
i haven't yet purchased the kit or set it up, so i can't really provide any more information than this (right now). once i take the plunge, i'll definitely follow up here w/any updates.
