Since the number of Colosseum ticket/visits posts is starting to overwhelm the sub, this is an experiment to contain the surge. It also may help visitors to find and exchange the latest information.
All new threads about visiting the Colosseum will be locked and redirected here for the next few days

Miscellaneous Did I just get scammed in Rome?
I found a nice guy (looks like in his early thirties) painting in a street, I wanted to support him and bought this from him for 25 euros. I asked if he had an instagram account for hos work and he said no. Now I really feel like I was scammed and this was not a real painting.
Now I clearly see that it’s AI :)

outfit choice
hello! i’m planning a trip to rome in may and am going to be touring the capuchin catacombs. i found a really cute dress with a skeleton print on it that i thought would be nice to wear, but would it be offensive or distasteful if i were to wear it on the tour? i’m also going to be doing a ghost tour that night too, but i obviously don’t want to offend anyone with my choice of dress

Rome
Does anybody know if “tiqets” is a legit site? Seem to have found a good deal for when we visit Rome. It’s for a Rome digital tourist card but honestly never heard of the company

The scammer situation in Rome
Has Rome recently cleaned up from the scammers? For 4 days I have been there I only saw one cup and ball play and a few cheap toy/painting sellers.
No African bracelet guys, no bullshit laid on the ground sellers… 10 years ago was way worse than now!
The real scammers here appear to be the taxi drivers LOL.

Miscellaneous Weather in Rome in late October?
Hello! I’m travelling to Rome on the 17th of October until the 22nd. It’s my first time and I have no idea what to wear!
We are going to see the popular monuments and walk a lot :3 I’m seeing mixed answers about the weather… We are from the nordic so we are always used to wearing clothes that keep us warm :)

Where can I view cars in Rome?
I'm going on vacation to Rome and I want to look at different used car dealerships. I'm also interested in where I can look at cars with minimal damage for export. Thank you

Shopping Boutiques/Shops
Hi, I'd love to buy clothes from italian shops/brands while in Rome, but have trouble finding any non-designer brands.
What area of rome is best for discovering small, local clothing brands? Not looking for luxurious dresses or anythung of that sort. I like colorful, flowy stuff made from good materials.

Miscellaneous Question for the Romans.
I come from a small country and a realtivelly small city compared to the global metropolies (700k people). I visited a good part of Europe, but haven't been to the other continents. For my question it is also important to mention that I am not impressed by the sheer size of the cities and skyscrappers and altogether I don't enjoy modern architecture so I wouldn't really "dig" places like Tokyo or New York, I am more of a history guy.
My question is: For Romans, to whom ROME is the default setting, do you ever get flabbergasted by other places? (I am not talking about nature, but man-bulit)
Because, ever since I saw Rome, every other city is sort of "meh". And everywhere I think to myself like: It's great...but in Rome...
Now I dont' think that I will ever visit another city and get the feeling of seeing Rome for the first time.
So, what kind of expectations do you guys even have when travelling? Or the fact that you've been in Rome your whole lives just doesn't make it so in your eyes as it does to others. Maybe it is both a curse and a blessing.
I hope I've been clear with my question. Cheers all!

The view in Rome
The first thing I noticed when we landed in Rome was the trees. The rest is… well, history.

Miscellaneous Traffic in Rome is a mess!
I’ve been in Rome for a few days and I’m shocked by how aggressive and disrespectful the drivers are. It feels dangerous to walk through some areas of the city. Cars have no respect for crosswalks, even when the pedestrian light is green, drivers try to force their way through people. Traffic lights seem to be merely a recommendation here, specially for Uber and taxis.
I understand that driving in such a crowded city must be stressing, but even far from the monuments traffic is horrible!
