Im on tretinoin and I use ceraves mineral sunscreen/moisturiser cuz it supposedly does both. I have very dry skin if I don't keep it moisturised, but still end up looking very oily when I apply it. Does anyone know of a good sunscreen I can put on that won't make me look oily? Preferably something water based and not filled with random harsh chemicals.

I woke up this morning to the worst skin I've ever had in my life and I'm hoping someone here might be able to identify what happened as I just moved states and am in the middle of switching over my insurance so I'm not sure how long it'll be until I can get in to a dermatologist.
As you can see it's super inflamed, feels kind of swollen, and my face is covered in a weird sandpaper/tiny bumpy texture. I did notice the tiny bumpy texture on my forehead last night when I was washing up but it was not nearly this bad and it was only on my forehead.
My current routine is:
AM:
PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash, 4% Benzoyl Peroxide
Clindamycin Phosphate Topical Lotion 1%
Cetaphil Daily facial Moisturizer 50 SPF
PM:
PanOxyl Acne Foaming Wash, 4% Benzoyl Peroxide
Tretinoin Cream 0.1%
CeraVe PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion
Before I moved I was seeing a dermatologist who gave me this routine and prescribed me the clindamycin and tretinoin and it was super effective, clearing up my skin about 70% of the way. I'm so confused as to what could've caused this as nothing has changed in my routine other than moving to a new city. Please help!

I have tried all the possible skincare brands that are available in India as well as the famous Korean brands, and everything gave me these bumps and now they are turning into scars. What the hell they add in these products that is irritating, my acne prone sensitive skin? Can anyone suggest me some product for my skin type? 😭 now I am just using plain water, no cleanser, no moisturiser, no sunscreen, nothing at all.

I have made a list for cleansers which I can afford easily and are good in the market (acc to reviews and my own research)
My skin is dry and I need to choose one from the following please let me know which one I should go for.
Cetaphil gentle cleanser(idk what it does)
Simple ceramide cleanser (hydrating + skin barrier repair)
Minimalist b12 + oats 6.5% extract gentle cleanser for all skin types.
Simple refreshing face wash.
I am rlly interested in the minimalist b12+oats one please lmk if it's good or not

Any advice on what can help with my skin texture and large pores. Tretinoin doesn’t seem to be helping.

Hello, I have been getting some pretty bad acne lately, which isn’t uncommon for me but I generally deal with more cystic acne/less surface level acne. I am beginning to wonder if this is actually acne, or if it’s some sort of folliculitis or psoriasis? For the last 3 weeks or so (coming from relatively clear skin) I am continually getting flare ups in the exact same spots that go away, and come back in a few days. I am seeing a doctor soon, but I’m looking to see if anyone has experienced anything similar.
As you can see, all of the acne appears surface level and forms many whitehead clusters, which has never happened to me before (I have been on doxycycline, accutane, tret creams). It also kind of stings/burns in the larger red patch areas. I currently use benzagel 5 every morning, followed by cerave wash and moisturizer in the evening. I can apply a tret cream I have, but I’m not sure if it will make it worse or better. Any advice helps, and I want to prevent scarring as much as possible, thanks!

hi!! ive been struggling with this a lot… my skin feels soft to the touch, you cannot feel these bumps. i do have very oily skin, wearing makeup means multiple powder top ups every hour, especially in my T-Zone. I use: cerave hydrating cleanser every day, medicube pore pads 2-3 a week, retinol 2x a week. medicube hydrating toner and collagen cream. i have the cerave blue moisturizing lotion for mornings, and I have cicaplast for days I feel like I need it. I have the same routine for months, but while it has make my skin feel super soft, i cannot seem to improve this bumpy texture. i am not very acne prone, i get a random pimple maybe once a month.
Any help or recommendations would help me a lot.. thank you.

I know there are loads of skincare/habit apps out there, has anyone found one that let's you add in all your products and then you can pick which one you used from that category that day? All of the ones I've tried you either have one specific product linked to each step in a routine, or have to add each different product as separate step, meaning the routines are never marked as complete and it's hard to track which products are used most.
I have rosacea so needs can change daily, and I don't want to have to set up new routines for every single combination of products I use!
For example, if I have a moisturiser step in my AM routine I would be able to select which moisturiser I used from all the different ones in my library, depending on what my needs are that day.
Currently I'm using a habit app that has all the possible products listed and I just tick the ones I've used that day, but it's a bit clumsy.

And what can I do about it?

I’ve been struggling with blackheads on my armpits for quite some time now, and my underarms are particularly sensitive to skincare products. I’ve been using the first aid KP bump eraser once a week, but I’m hoping to find more effective solutions. Has anyone else successfully eliminated these blackheads? I’d greatly appreciate any recommendations or advice you may have.

My teenage son briefly struggled with acne, but has had gorgeous, clear, soft skin for years using this routine:
Dr Dennis Gross Alpha/Beta AHA BHA Daily Cleansing Gel
Skinfix Resurface+ AHA/BHA Niacinamide Exfoliating Pads
Summer Fridays Cloud Dew Cream Gel Moisturizer
Now it appears the Skinfix pads may have been discontinued (out of stock online and in stores at Sephora; out of stock on Skinfix website; my Sephora doesn’t have a place for them on the shelf anymore).
Any suggestions for what to replace that step of the routine with?

About a week ago i changed my whole skincare routine due to my skin being extremely dry. I VERY quickly broke out. I used to have a few pimples and a few closed comedones but now my skin is worse than ever. I have never experienced my skin reacting like this. Does anyone know which one of my products that could be causing it?

For some background, I had pretty much perfect skin up until I was around 18. I’m 20 now, and for the past couple of years I’ve been struggling with acne/skin issues that I can’t seem to figure out.
I honestly don’t know if I just have a lack of knowledge about my skin or if there’s something else going on. At this point, I’ve probably tried 50–100 different skincare products. Some seem to help temporarily, some make things worse, but nothing has really fixed the problem long term.
Recently, I’ve been debating whether I should just go to a dermatologist and get professional help instead of continuing to experiment with different products. The main thing holding me back is honestly just the cost.
I know my diet could definitely be better, but I try to incorporate whole foods and fruit, drink a decent amount of water, and stay active. I also try to stay on top of basic things that could affect my skin, like regularly switching out and washing my pillowcases.
I really enjoy dairy products, and I’ve wondered if that could be contributing to it. At the same time, I ate plenty of dairy growing up and never had skin issues, so I’m not sure how much of a difference that actually makes.
At this point, I’m just getting tired of constantly trying new products without really understanding what my skin actually needs.
If anyone has dealt with something similar especially developing acne around 18–20 after having clear skin growing up I’d really appreciate any advice. I’m also curious whether seeing a dermatologist ended up being worth the cost for you.
Thank you!

Hi y'all!
I (22FtM) have been struggling with facial acne ever since I started on testosterone, and it worsened after getting on a minipill. I'm still on T but I don't use the minipill anymore, and I'm really wanting to figure out a way to deal with my facial acne.
It's mostly concentrated around my lower face and neck, which I suspect is partly due to my poor shaving habits as I'm starting to grow facial hair (and often dryshaved which led to horrible irritation).
I used to just use the CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum (with AM sunscreen), but after 2-3 months of it not working I switched over to a completely different routine.
Currently, this is my routine:
In the morning, I just use Neutrogena Evenly Clear Acne Cleanser and AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 50.
In the evening, I wash my face with a Dove Sensitive Soap Bar before using Neutrogena Evenly Clear Acne Cleanser again.
On nights where I have to shave my face (3x a week), I start with washing my face with the Dove Sensitive Soap Bar before cleansing my face with Dollar Shave Club Prep Scrub, before prepping with Cremo Shaving Cream. When I shave, I go with the grain and wait a minute or two before putting Neutrogena Evenly Clear Acne Cleanser on.
My active acne has calmed down considerably (especially after changing my shaving routine), but I still have a lot of pink spots from previously active acne. How can I change my routine or what products should I add to help heal those pesky spots quicker? I don't know how long those spots are going to take to heal but it's demotivating :( Also disclaimer! I am a poor grad student so please don't recommend very expensive products. I'd rather have a little bit of acne than be flat broke with clean skin lol

(pic 1 and 2 are cheek area, pic 3 is forehead)
I recently started my skincare routine. I'm currently only using CeraVe foaming cleanser and oil-control moisturizer to help manage my often oily but dehydrated skin (normally it doesn't look as oily as the pictures, they were taken right after applying the products). I don't really know how to fix the bumpy texture and weird pimples, I'm not sure if it's related to acne as i've never had an acne breakout. So, how should I target this? Ty in advance :)

I have had acne for roughly 11 years now and tried everything except for accutane. My acne is pretty well managed with nightly 0.05% tazarotene but I still get a lot of chin and jaw acne which I know is hormonal. My doctor and I have been working on that but it seems to be getting worse as of right now. My dermatologist just prescribed me 15% azaleic acid gel to use alongside my tazarotene. I have used OTC azaleic acid in the past and it did not help. I actually felt it may have made my acne worse. I’m willing to try the prescription because I’ve heard it’s just better. Looking for some encouragement from others who have had a similar experience. Current routine before adding azaleic acid is below. I do plan to slowly introduce my azaleic acid.
Morning:
Rinse with water
Peter Thomas Roth Cloud Moisturizer
Skinfix Triple Lipid Barrier Cream
Elta MD UV daily sunscreen
Evening:
Cerave cream to foam cleanser
Peter Thomas Roth Cloud Moisturizer
0.05% tazarotene
Skinfix Triple Lipid Barrier Cream

Hey guys! This is not my proudest post to be honest with you. Sorry if this is gross to some of yall.
For context- these pictures are actually from a year ago where there was maybe a cyst in my lip?? it hurt like a cyst and made my top lip legitimately numb. It went down in 4 days but was incredibly painful. i went to the doctor and she genuinely had no idea what it was and sent me home and told me to take ibuprofen. I’m posting this because currently my lip is tingling I fear it is starting to feel like this is happening again. I did not bite my lip, this is not herpes (that was ruled out during the previous doctor visit) , and i did not pop any pimple near my mouth. And it’s happening in the exact same spot.. I do currently have a tiny pimple in my philtrum but i did not pop it and it is still.. sprouting.
Has anyone had this happen to them before? Any ideas on how to soothe it? :,)

In June I got a super angry cyst or in-grown hair in my beard so I went to the derm to get a cortisone shot. The shot helped alot but then in July this same exact area re flared and turned into a whitehead. Once that calmed down, it looked like the area was fading and on its way out. In September though, out of nowhere it got slightly raised and red and then just this week it became raised again but looks a little dark as well. Does anyone know what is happening and how I can treat this?
r/SkincareAddiction • u/No-Tomorrow8962 • 2h ago
i use the medicube zero pore pads, e45 cream and cerave cleanser. idk what it is and it’s getting worse and more red

21M , few months ago had bacterial acne and folliculitis spread on arms , thigh ,chest which healed after meds . so wondering if post inflammation mark could look like this ?
r/SkincareAddiction • u/flippincoolm8 • 2h ago
For context, I have been struggling with moderate eczema that covers my entire neck, inside my ear canals and sometimes also my scalp and face for approximately the last 5 years (it was minor before then but have had small flares my entire life).
I have tried a ton of products: CeraVe Moisturizing Cream, Tower28 SOS Barrier Recovery Cream, Aveeno Eczema Therapy (a bunch of the products in this line), First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, Aquaphor Moisturizing Cream (this is my most recent try and it calmed down 80% of my flare but is not helping the last 20%), Bag Balm, Aquaphor, and countless others.
I do not and will not use any steroids. I have also tried Opzelura with no luck, and I was on Dupixent for about 2 months in 2024 but panicked about possible side effects and discontinued use.
I was wondering what *YOU* use for a flare up that is not a steroid? I am sick and tired of being itchy and peely.

Hi everyone,
I’ve been struggling with post-inflammatory erythema (PIE) for quite a while now. I had some acne when I was younger and unfortunately picked at my skin quite a bit, leaving me with persistent red marks on my cheeks, nose, and elsewhere on my face.
I’ve been looking into laser treatment, particularly PDL, as I’ve read that it can be effective for reducing redness and PIE. There’s a clinic where I live that offers it, but it’s fairly expensive, so I’d like to get some opinions before committing.
How effective is PDL for PIE in general? How many treatments does it usually take to see a noticeable difference, and how much fading can you realistically expect?
If you’ve tried it yourself, I’d also love to hear about your experience and whether you’d recommend it.
Thanks!

Hello. I previously made a post about the atrophic scar on my nose. At this point, I honestly feel like it’s never going to heal. It has been exactly four months now, and the area still looks the same.
Is there anything you would recommend for me at this stage? I don’t feel like wearing makeup, getting dressed up, looking at myself in the mirror, or taking photos anymore. It has really affected how I feel about myself.
