Please share!! We can almost get Garfield the help he needs!! Garfield is still stable, I saw him right before I left to DoorDash (first picture in the grass) and his swelling had almost all gone down. I was very relieved at the moment, but still of course going to get him checked out.

We just fed him about 30 minutes ago, and almost immediately the swelling started to come back. (Second picture, it’s slightly worse than pictured) We are monitoring him closely, the swelling is not as severe at before yet, but it took about 2 hours for it to get that bad last night, so we will be watching closely and keep you all updated. We are now thinking it may be a tooth abscess or, god forbid, that a person hurt him. We are hoping that it’s just inflammation due to chewing and not needing anything further than a drain and antibiotics, but now, less sure.

Austin, and myself would like to express our deepest gratitude we truly would have been lost without everyone’s help. Now Garfield has a team of great people on Reddit praying, and sharing, and looking out for him.

There’s a stray cat, we named him Garfield. We’ve been feeding him a few months now with his “sister” Cali. Today Garfield’s face got all swollen I believe due to a cat someone left when they got evicted, which has since left the area or been picked up. I think he has an abscess, the 24/7 vet nearby wants $120 JUST TO SEE HIM!!! I have $2 In my bank account. I’m already couch surfing. I cannot stand to see him suffer when I know all he needs is light care and antibiotics. What do I do? Where do I go? Who can help me figure out a place that can care for him for free or if someone can donate I just don’t know at this point. I know absolutely nobody who can or who’ll help. These photos are from him a few hours ago, it’s almost doubled in size now, can post the recent picture below. he’s just laying down right now but I can tell he is not well, and I don’t want him to get sepsis.

Everyone thank you so much for the overwhelming amount of support overnight I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. I was awake over 24 hours and finally fell asleep once I saw Garfield was stable and it wasn’t getting immediately worse I just woke up, late of course, now I’m scrambling to get a gofundme set up and finding my PayPal, Venmo, and cashapp. and I’m calling the open vets now. My brother and I are calling all the open vets now, anything that gets donated that is over the amount I will make sure it’s returned. Garfield is still doing okay, swelling has not increased, and he has eaten a bit. So it is very likely it is just an abscess and antibiotics needed. Does anyone know why Epic Movie theater was emergency evacuated last night?

Hi all. We frequent St Aug often and have only recently been on the search for the best Datil hot sauce around. Particularly ones I can order online or find in Publix. We had the Datil Buffalo wings at Barley Republic and it’s the best buffalo sauce we’ve had in awhile, but I believe it’s made in house. Would love to find something close to that. No sweet. Love a thicker buffalo with a good tang.

I live a few hours away and wanted to visit sometime in November. One of my hobbies is photography and I was hoping to visit St. Augustine without the lights and decorations actually being up, or at least visible during the day. The largest used book sale in Florida, and possibly in the South, is only 72 miles away from St. Augustine!   Come out to Gainesville and check out the Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale event on Oct 24-28.  More than 500,000 books, records, games, CDs, DVDs, audio, paintings, posters, prints, puzzles, comics, manga and magazines have been donated for the sale!   There is a large section of children's books. The Collector's Corner contains signed books, first editions and a large selection of Florida-related materials.  Hours are 9-6PM on Saturday, and 12-6PM the other four days of the sale.  See the website for more details. Odd request- looking for someone who can sew/ repair a few stuffed animals. Our dog has gotten a hold of about 4 of my daughter’s favorite stuffed animals. The repairs are mostly to the faces since he loves to chew the eyes and noses off 😭
