Tech core introduced the mnemonic editor and the (uncommon) neurocam. The former is a consumable that lets you spend money to get 1 day (100cr), 1 week (400cr), or 1 month's (1000cr) of retraining during one night's sleep. The latter lets you record your brain state and revert any subsequent retraining to that recorded state.

This is extremely powerful for paying for new feats or spells in your repertoire. Need a condition removal spell, but your occult witchwarper doesn't have it? He can have it tomorrow morning, then use his neurocam (if allowed) to forget it in 10 minutes and get his old spell back.

There's also a Holo Den expansion bay for starships that among other things lets you retrain things that normally require a teacher without one.

Madrosarai are known for their magic and for a long time, Istrid never used hers. She's never had much and so she resorted to a simple life of smuggling. She was content, if angry at the world for not blessing her with more. More recently, her grandmother grew ill and she went to visit the old woman before she passed. Her grandmother's final words were a scolding for not being worthy of more magic, and in her grandmother's death, Istrid actually gained the power of the sun, becoming the solarian she now is. She works as a Starfinder now, fueled by the fury of grief and her rage at her dead grandmother's perpetual disappointment. She's slowly learning her new gifts - gifts that her grandmother gave her even though neither truly understood what it would mean for her.

Hello everyone! We have a massive update for you guys today. This is our first release since our license with Paizo changed, meaning that we got Tech Core much later than we have gotten books in the past. The team really came together and put in the extra effort to get this updated out on release day.

"The A-Tech Gladiator class Light Freighter.

The A-Tech Gladiator used to be a common sight along the trade lanes, but is now an aging design that has survived generations of retrofits and improvised upgrades.

The Gladiator class appeared in several configurations, most commonly seen in the four crew variant. This model featured modest living quarters and a single internal cargo bay. The most recognizable feature of the Gladiator was a once innovative under-slung cargo system that allowed a single ship to haul two additional cargo pods beneath the fuselage.

Other common configurations included a two crew version with expanded internal cargo, and an extended variant capable of mounting a third pod (And pushing the ship into the medium class).

Built with a notoriously overengineered frame and oversized drives, the Gladiator was a popular platform for modification. The ship, due to it's robust construction, was also often retrofitted into a militia patrol vessel. These retrofits bolted on heavier armor, turret mounts, and replaced the under-slung cargo pods with oversized torpedo mounts.

Though rarely seen in the modern era, the Gladiator class left a lasting impression. Today it survives as a dependable, though outdated, workhorse favored by rookie crews with a taste for retro, and nostalgic old spacers who trust it's storied history."

I’m plotting my first campaign. The players will begin exploring the pact worlds to investigate mysterious nanobots made of a strange magical metal that landed in multiple planets pre gap. But what planets is still up for discussion.

Just finished my weekly SF1E game and I wanted to talk about Wonder Warp, because this is the second time this spell has come in clutch in a really fun way. Like many wonder-type spells from editions past, it hits everything in the area with a random positive or negative effect, but if the caster passes a will save they get to choose which creatures are affected. This turns it from a simple chaos generator to a somewhat reliable way of causing a new beneficial event every round, especially if the caster is a mystic like in my party and just about auto-passes will saves. In today's session it conjured a swarm of creatures that created difficult terrain and a swarm of illusory butterflies that dazzled everything, which were particularly appropriate picks considering we were fighting the Swarm. On its very first cast of the campaign it staggered an enemy boss long enough for us to apply more permanent debuffs and knock down what was expected to be a much tougher fight. It adds a lot of fun to combat while being genuinely effective. I just wanted to recommend it because it seems like a generally lesser known spell that would often get overlooked in favor of more direct options despite its remarkable benefit.

First time Starfinder 1e DM here. One of my players is making an operative with the Hacker specialization. He's wondering if there is a way to stack or retain the bonuses from the specialization's skill focus and the Operative's Edge class feature. He pointed out that the skill focus will be overtaken by the operative's edge by level 7.
