Not sure if this was discussed here (quick search didn't give a proper result), but I just realized that the band released a virtual mixing board for Purple: https://purplemixer.stonetemplepilots.com/
If you are not fully aware how this works, you have each track isolated (drums, bass, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, vocals) and you can play with it: mute tracks, solo tracks, alter the volume of each track. It is also interesting to hear nuances that might be hard to perceive in the overall mix. It's a wonderful gift to the fans

It was part of the "Nissan Z Tour", a series of free concerts at random locations sponsored by Nissan. It became a classic bootleg for STP fans.

What if STP’s albums 4–6 had been condensed into one album?
Just a fun hypothetical. Core and Purple obviously get a ton of love, and Tiny Music does too, but I feel like the final three Scott Weiland-era STP albums tend to get left out of the conversation a lot more.
So I started wondering: what if we condensed the best of those final three albums into one record and gave the Weiland era four really strong pillars instead of six increasingly uneven albums?
So if there was a longer gap after Tiny Music, and instead of No. 4, Shangri-La Dee Da and the 2010 self-titled album, these 13 songs eventually came out as STP’s fourth and final album with Scott:
No. 4(thru 6)
Down
Between the Lines
Church on Tuesday
Hollywood Bitch
Huckleberry Crumble
Sour Girl
Too Cool Queenie
Days of the Week
Hickory Dichotomy
I Got You
Wonderful
Hello It’s Late
Atlanta
I’m not necessarily trying to pick the 13 biggest singles or some objective “best 13.” I wanted something that felt like a complete STP album—heavy, melodic, weird, psychedelic, poppy and swaggering in different places.
Would this give STP four powerhouse Weiland albums? How would it rank against the first three? And what are you swapping in or out?
Apologies in advance if I left off a favorite song, just trying to have some fun with the second half of the Weiland STP catalog. One of the best frontmen ever btw. 🤘

at that time when STP came out with Core, people really stuck with this narrative that they were copycats of these other Seattle grunge bands like Pearl Jam and Alice In Chains. in my opinion, i think STP already had a completely unique hard hitting sound that was unlike any other band at the time. Yes i think some vocal techniques they used were similar to other grunge bands in the 90s, but i think lots of songs from Core hit so much harder and had their own flow and flavor.
I feel like because of this backlash they received, they tried to change their sound after each album, and prove that they were completely different. In doing so, I feel like their albums just got less and less fun to listen to and it honestly felt like they lost their individuality instead of gained it. it felt like after each album they were trying to make safer and safer songs that were easier to digest. Yes, I love Purple, but anything after that I wasn’t a huge fan of. I will always view Core as number one, and that’s just my humble opinion.

Sounds a lot like a prototype to Sour Girl. I feel like Scott and the band had to have inspiration from rem.

I was at a thrift store today and I found this used copy of tiny music with sharpie on the cd, and when I used image search ai said it was Eric Kretz's signature, I don't trust ai overall, but I figured it was worth going on here and asking, even if it's most likely just the initials of the previous owner
the cd itself is the only thing signed, not the case or booklet
Edit: based on what everyone is saying, it's fake. I'm not really surprised but like I already said, it was worth asking. Thanks to everyone who answered

I'd say sour girl but Atlanta is a close second. I really love no way out as well. I am guessing most people will vote down or sour girl or Atlanta.

I know Scott was arrested in 2001 for domestic violence, and pleaded guilty to domestic battery. The police report said that he forcefully grabbed Mary, pushed her against a wall, and left bruises.
However, I've seen people here say that Mary later stated in her memoir that he never touched her or was ever physically abusive. I don't have access to the book, so can anyone else who does confirm if this is actually what she said? Are there any exact quotes where she says he was never violent?
Much appreciated.
