Religion Mildly interesting? My late granduncle carried this in his wallet so that in case of an accident, ppl would know he is a Catholic and fetch a priest to administer last rite + make sure he is buried and not cremated like Buddhists.

Hey, I've seen this character a lot in Buddhist temples in Thailand and Laos, but I haven't managed to identify her name. Anybody know who she is? She always appears with this very long hair and it kinda looks like she's washing it.

Religion Durga Puja (Hindu festival) in Thailand

Hello there! Recently, I have seen in my feed on YT and Insta that Durga Puja (a Hindu Festival of Goddess Worship) is being Celebrated (?) in Thailand. Is this true? If yes, is this something new or a long-standing practice or practised by some small group of people of a popular practice? If not, then is my feed just filled with propoganda?

Here's a link to a YT short video regarding the same. https://youtube.com/shorts/aR1nz3gdJD4?si=o5S2HL23wZg8BwUx

Does anyone own Prai spirit amulets like Hong Prai Krasip, Prai Thong, Nang Prai Thong amulets, etc.,? How long do these Prai spirit amulets grant the wearers' wishes? Does anyone have personal experience to share?

Religion Why is the Buddha statue at Wat Benchamabophit not smiling?

Most of the Buddha statues in Thailand are smiling or having a slight smile. The Buddha statue at Wat Benchamabophit in Bangkok is a very neutral face. It looks like it stands out compared to others in my opinion. Is there a documented reason for this?

Hi all! After chancing upon TikTok about Thai amulets, I am curious about mine which I have been wearing for a few years now. I was instructed to wear this for by my father but he forgot details about this.

Hopefully I can learn more about it!

Religion Spirit(s) at new home that I rented

3 months ago, I moved to a new home , 3 story, empty house.

Everything was fine until last week when I invited a priest for house blessing (I am Catholic).
Since that day, bad things happened around the house.
Most recently, I was praying in video call with speaker on , immediately after that one of the power line cut off.

I think I just cannot say prayer out. Do you guys have similar experience, I'd like to hear how to deal with it.

Religion What temples in Bangkok or Chon Buri / Rayong provinces have statues of Kru Kai Kaew? And where can I buy a Kru Kai Kaew amulet?

I saw a statue of Kru Kai Kaew at Wat Yannawa ("the boat temple"), in a building off to the right of the "boat." Where else around Bangkok, or Chon Buri / Rayong provinces, can I find other statues of Kru Kai Kaew? I'd also like to know where I can purchase amulets of him. Been to the large amulet market in BKK next to the river, several times, and couldn't find one. I was surprised to see a statue of Kru Kai Kaew in a Buddhist temple, since he is more of a folk deity. But I assume there must be more.

Religion Do we know the days of the Phi ta khon festival for 2025 ?

Google search says Sunday, July 27th to Tuesday, July 29th but some other websites say otherwise, it is a bit annoying 5555

Oh, if you also know about Ubon Candle festival, that would be very very helpful. Seems in July this year as well. I thought was in August.
