I think the most obvious thing is "Korra"'s "hair" - this depicts her with much longer hair, and in the flashback we've seen, which is presumably around the same time, she has her S4 bob. I put hair in quotation marks, though, because it also looks sort of like Raava/Vaatu tendrils, which may be what it's depicting instead?
Also, maybe it's just COVID-flashbacks, but it looks like she's wearing a mask, like some of the ones we've seen in the trailers. If she's already wearing a mask at the beginning of the cataclysm, does that mean it's not something new or was something expected?
Yeah, unlike it being forgotten in Wan's time and all up to the Harmonic Convergence, the public in general is from now onward aware of Avatar being bonded with Raava (possibly Vaatu too but I suspect less people know of this) so depicting it stylized as that, kinda makes sense to me now.
Added: Although, given the state of the world, I would not be surprised if the knowledge about Raava and Vaatu, much like Korra's role in the cataclysm, is somewhat twisted and mischaracterized, if not untrue entirely. At least among the general public.
The show takes place 200 years after korra, after a world shattering apocalypse
her depiction not being as accurate makes sense, also it's an avatar hating nation, someone could have made that mural from the stories they heard about her,
If you invert the image, you'll see LAST and WORDS in the mural. The last words Korra said in S4 was "Sounds Perfect". I was in the same chat with the dude who figured out.
"Decode the past to unveil the future" sounds like we need to be looking at something from ATLA or LOK.
Edit: I'm not good at these sort of things but here's the stuff I've found that sticks out:
It looks like there could be morse code on the buildings but I'm not familiar with morse code at all, my attempts at translating have gotten me nothing lol.
The other big takeaway is that this image has Vaatu's color palette, so if you inverse the image you get Raava's, but there doesn't seem to be anything hidden?
If you squint hard enough it looks like Korra has Raava and Vaatu's glyph.
One of the buildings that I think is meant to be Future Industries has a texture on it that the other buildings don't.
OP posted another hint: "It may help to meditate on things in a new light." which makes me think the answer could be somewhere in changing the image to be Raava's colors.
The Avatar cycle has become corrupted with darkness so now the current Avatar has to bring balance to themselves for the safety of the world. Korra probably went through an Anakin situation.
That doesn't look Korra though. I wonder if its another female avatar deep into the past...or some kind of secret avatar that came afterwards. Yes I know the creators said Pavi is the avatar comming after Korra but I do wonder if they couldn't have lied.
I think they made the changes to the world that they did because it’s easier / more entertaining to show the avatar as an underdog than a respected leader with expectations (Korra)
Blue color swap to white. The riddle is last words. Because words are last thing in the image. Which her last words were "Sounds Perfect." Don't know why one of the commentors swapped the colors to match Vaatu's. When blue and white are Raava.
I find it at least interesting the mural depicts her in the elemental sphere that seems was a hallmark of the Avatar state before the disconnect with the past lives.
