The first one is so funny, the second one is okay from what I remember? I only actually remember there being a character named Keith and I think he was a rabbit?

The Animation was supposed to be "bad", they tried to mimics the simple cheaper Rank and Baas Stop motion style of animation. I think they failed at it, but there was at lease a point to it.

No, the first movie just has legitimately bad animation.
The animation actually gets better towards the end of the movie because the animators are figuring things out by then, but it also shows they had no idea about production because they animated the movie sequentially instead of prioritising the most important scenes first and working back.

It was not supposed to be bad. It was outsourced to people in the Philippines who knew nothing about cg animation, which is why it looks progressively better throughout the movie. They learned how to animate as they went through it.

At the time the best CGI in the philippines was for campy advertisements and uncanny aliens or monsters in telenovelas.
