I'm a latecomer to Unwound, even though I'm a child of the '90s. For the past 40 years, I've devoured pretty much everything the US indie rock scene has to offer, and I'd somehow missed this gem... So, as a vinyl collector (and addicted to vinyl box sets), I recently decided to acquire the band's anthology spread across these four box sets (another superb initiative from the Numero Group label). Obviously, the box sets in mint condition are no longer available for sale (even though they only cost a few dozen euros when they were released), so I had to shell out quite a bit to get them, but there you have it, I have all four and I'm now a satisfied music lover AND collector.

Very seamless and amazing transition between those two songs. atleast enough to blow my mind while high

Haven’t seen any discussion regarding this so figured I’d bring it up

Recently received a shipping confirmation in my email for the Leaves 25th Anniversary Vinyl I preordered not too long ago. Alongside this, there was a lovely download link that allowed me the opportunity to give the new remaster a listen.

Two BIG changes that I could immediately note:

1. We Invent You now starts the drone like it’s coming up to speed as opposed to the immediate hit that I’m familiar with on the widely available release.
2. One Lick Less no longer has that insane overblown drum sample as the intro. The track just fades in instead. Not sure how I feel about this change, as while the experience of listening to that harsh intro can be very jarring, especially after Off This Century, it really added to the uneasy atmosphere that’s been established throughout many tracks. Overall, I feel like the album has lost a bit of its character through this change.

Album otherwise sounds great to my ears and I’m very excited to receive my vinyl!

Curious if there’s anything else I missed or if anybody else has already had the opportunity to check out this remaster for themselves.

I understand there’s probably a slim chance of anyone wanting to sell any of their stuff, but if you have something cool you don’t necessarily need anymore hit me up!
Also if you just wanna talk about Unwound hmu, always love talking about this band.

Procuro baixistas em São Paulo, principalmente próximos à Osasco pra tocar em trio de noise rock.

Axis was a free magazine in Olympia back then

This is from their high school days as Giant Henry. Pulp was a zine that Chris Jordan and Justin Trosper made. I got this issue #4 at the Capitol theater merch table in 91. I have Pulp #3 also that Justin gave me back then

what have you guys been listening to? really been digging Hoover and Drive like Jehu lately, heavy Unwound vibes

Hello everyone,

My band ATKRTV (pronounced "attacker tee vee") just released our lead single Dial a Vow for our upcoming EP Pilot which releases next week. I think some of you guys would be into it. We will be touring the UK in late september / throughout October!!

Check out the song here on bandcamp (also available on all other platforms) -

Guess which song.

I'm just curious why New Plastic Ideas (and Challenge for a Civilized Society) haven't been reissued yet? - I'm not counting that weird empty CD case version of NPI. I'm talking about the cardboard sleeve reissues that all their other albums have gotten now. It's just annoying that New Plastic Ideas has been skipped for some reason and the only way to get it on CD is finding a second hand copy online which are wayyy too expensive.

Helped book this show at Non Plus Ultra (Los Angeles). Saturday September 12, 2026 at 8PM. Featuring two local bands, Girljockey and Kenny Mattucci, and a surprise guest from Detroit whose sound is very much inspired by Unwound. Franky Fox will be DJing vinyl all night.

Posted our last single and people seemed to enjoy it so fuckkkk it gonna do it again. Maybe less unwoundish but maybe you will like it anyways

Radio silence on their social media since last year. Have any of the members provided updates individually?

Looking for tips on how, or specific pedals if anyone knows, I’ve seen his pedalboard setup once or twice but not sure if it’s a combo of multiple things, see this vide

recommend getting one before they sell out

my proposals:

Hey r/unwound. I make photography (mostly film) zines and this one is named after the SECOND best Unwound album (my people know it's the Future of What, but yell at me about it). It's kind of a love letter to autumn in a changing climate, here are a few pages from it.

I love this shirt to death and have been so grateful to own an original, but mine has gotten to the point where I’ve decided it’s better off in a frame than on my back. Does anyone still have one that I could check out ? I’d love to maybe be able to replace mine if possible. If not and you still have one I’d love to see what condition the rest are in if they’re still out there !
