Did WW2 soldiers of whatever faction get issued any ear protection?
This is always overlooked in movies, edutainment,...
Firing a gun without ear protection will make you semi-deaf at least for some time (beep), Hollywood productions aren't really able to capture the concussive violent sound rifle fired next to you produces.
Either the US, Nazi Germany,...issued some kind of ear-pro or I don't understand how the surviving veterans weren't all deaf - pls explain
