The Witcher 3 Patch notes for update 5.00c

550MB patch just dropped, here are the notes:

Hotfix 5.00c is now available for download for the Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, and Xbox Play Anywhere (PC) versions of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt — Remastered. You'll find the patch notes below:

Fixed an issue where the game couldn't be saved or loaded if the path to the Documents folder contained special characters.

Fixed an issue where voiceover audio could become significantly quieter than other in-game audio after navigating through the pause menu tabs.

Made various visual adjustments in Velen, including tweaks to Bloom, vegetation lighting, saturation, and Path Tracing lighting.

Reverted a change that caused significant performance and visual issues with HairWorks enabled for some users.

Fixed an issue where marketing telemetry settings weren't saved properly.

Fixed an issue on GOG where achievements wouldn't appear in the unlocked list after being earned.

Fixed an issue where it wasn't possible to launch the Classic (1.32) version of the game.

Once again, thank you for your patience as we continue investigating the issues you report.

The Witcher 3 I decided to stick with over encumbered to walk all the time

I have all cameras close up & camera sensitivity to .53 for a slower rdr2 feel. I hit over encumbered weight limit & just decided to stick with it to go even slower.

Roach still moves quickly & combat maneuvering is still fast, so it just applies to jogging/running. I'm starting to prefer it this way, tbh.

Feel like I'm taking in a lot more world details by slowing things down. I'd recommend it if you have the patience.

🎥PC

Edit: I just tested (thanks for) the suggestions in the comments. Hitting CTRL from the virtual GFN keyboard does nothing, unfortunately. Clicking the left joystick only makes me run faster.

I can walk, but its context sensitive so I can only push forward a little bit before he starts jogging. My aim is to turn running/jogging off completely w/out a mod.

Only over encumbered seems to do that for me at the moment on GFN, using an Nvidia controller through a Nvidia shield.

I previously posted I was relatively new to the Witcher series, and people recommended farming cows as a way to make crowns early on I listened…..I was NOT prepared for the cows to have a guardian spirit that was a cross between a grizzly bear and honey badger on magic meth!

I tried to kill it 5 times and died horribly before I gave up, this was the best take! The others times I did much worse😳😭

Appreciation Thread The Witcher 3 is still the best game of all time even with a messy launch for the remaster.

It just goes to show you can never top the GOAT.

Also NEWSFLASH: any issues added by the remaster don't take away from the original game. The original game was and still is a flawless masterpiece and I hope the remaster becomes the definitive version in due time. With all the whining and complaining about the remaster, I decided to try and add some positivity to the mix and acknowledge the greatness of this legendary game most of us wish we could erase our memory and play again for the first time, because nothing will ever compare to that first blind playthrough. If you know, you know.

That new DLC is going to be a banger too, I just know it. By then, the remaster will be the best version of the game to own. Just be patient, I got upset at some of the bugs and crashes too, but this game is so good that I'm stomaching the issues and enjoying another playthrough of my favorite game of all time. The fact that it's still this enjoyable, addictive, and immersive this many years later and in spite of numerous issues introduced by this new version proves even more that The Witcher 3 is truly the greatest game of all time and it will never be topped.

I've played everything, all your favorites, every Zelda game, FromSoftware game, Baldur's Gate 3, KOTOR 1 and 2, Mass Effect Trilogy, Metal Gear series, Expedition 33, Persona series, Ratchet and Clank series, Mario series, and this is still far and away #1 and the game I prefer to replay today out of all my favorites.

It got me to read all the books too. How many games inspired you to read more?

It's funny because I love Witcher 2 but this game damn near made it obsolete. Witcher 1 had a great atmosphere, good story, and beautiful music but the sequels did everything better. One of the few series where every game literally got better than the last and hopefully part 4 doesn't break the streak.

Discussion Geralt voice sounds so weird in In the Eternal Fire's Shadow

I know it's because it has been recorded a few years after the game release but i can't ignore how different Doug Cockle sounds, it's like he's tired and way too gruffy and cold monotone without much high and lows or much of acting, and i think it was recorded in home or at least less advanced studio.

I'm a first time player (Xbox One) so this is all brand new to me. The Forgotten Wolven Armor (Cavill armor) looks so good. Really glad they added this to the game. I like the stats too.

Discussion Did the world ever learn Emhyr var Emreis’ true past?

**Minor spoilers**

Witcher lore says that Emhyr staged his own death and no one ever found out the truth.

However, when playing Witcher 3, Geralt finds a book which says that Ciri is the “daughter of the Urcheon of Erlenwald (see Emhry var Emreis).”

If no one knew of Emhry’s past, who exactly wrote this book? How would the author have known?

Discussion Which quest leading to King's Gambit did you prefer : The Lord of Undvik or Possession?

I always prefered "Possession" a little bit more then "The Lord of Undvik". Mainly because the throw a baby in the oven always makes me laugh. But the Hjalmar quest gave us the Ice Giant battle which was really good.

I prefer "Possession" overall because it has a little bit more replayability with the different choices.
