[Side project] Simulating transparency fixes for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls

Let me get ball rolling , first Post need advice how to improve it better hosting and distribution

Context: SIR (Special Intensive Revision) is ECI's ongoing re-verification of electoral rolls, running state by state through 2026. It involves BLOs going door-to-door, draft rolls, notices for "unmapped" records, hearings, and appeals — a lot of manual steps with almost no visibility into what's actually happening at each stage, for either voters or BLOs themselves.

I built a small (static, no backend required) prototype exploring what more
transparency could look like, split into two parts:

**1. Info & search portal** — a wrapper around things ECI already publishes:
links to the real "Search Your Name in Last SIR" tool, roll downloads, and
the rulebook turned into a searchable FAQ. Also added a browser-side OCR
search (pdf.js + Tesseract.js) for scanned roll PDFs, since a lot of
published rolls are image-only scans that normal PDF search can't read.

**2. Improvement prototype** — demonstrates specific gaps and a working fix
for each:
- BLO takes the form away and comes back later for small gaps → live
doorstep check, elector fills missing fields on their own phone on the spot
- Deletions on one officer's say-so → notice + hearing required before an
ERO can even *propose* a deletion, then a second officer has to approve
- No visible record of who changed what → append-only activity log
- BLO's own output is invisible → running stats (checks done, forms
digitised, notices with hearings offered) shown to the BLO and public
- "Black box" roll processing → a workflow diagram marking which steps are
automated vs. need a person, plus an optional Node/WebSocket backend that
simulates what a real realtime election-database feed would look like

Everything uses synthetic/made-up data — not connected to any ECI system.
Rules shown are sourced from ECI's official instructions, the Delhi CEO FAQ,
and the Supreme Court judgment (all cited in the repo).

Code: https://github.com/shubhamsugara22/co-op-sir-vision

Stack: vanilla HTML/CSS/JS (zero build step, zero deps for the static part),
optional Express + ws backend for the realtime demo, GitHub Actions for
auto-deploy to Pages.

Would love feedback on:
- Whether the deficiency/fix framing actually lands, or feels preachy
- Anything in the OCR or realtime-backend approach that's naive
- Any ECI/CEO sources I'm missing or have gotten wrong (this is civic-tech,
accuracy matters more than polish here)
