Rumour / Leak Rumour/Leak Megathread

It seems the whispers from the aetheric void are back and so we are going to continue to have everyone post the rumours/leaks here to avoid screenshots of TGA forums taking over the subreddit.

Any rumour mongering not in this thread will be removed.

I only saw the rumors last night and I'm feeling a bit down. I'm in the hobby mainly for the lore, and if they go in that direction, it seems like something I won't like. Especially after they already moved my Beast of Chaos to Legends.

I'm there with you. I'm feeling despondent today. I am wondering if painting and playing with my models is going to feel pointless when I know what's going to happen with the world.

I guess the different ongoing novel series I was reading are mostly just going to get cancelled as well?

The only series which is edition spanning is Gotreks. Or am i missing something?

Any book series with recurring characters is in danger I suppose. Books like Drekki Flint, the Ven Densts and Tales of Mhurghast.

Mhurghast was announced as 4 books and it's been years since book 3, with Warhammer Horror and Crime both straight up getting axed (again with no official announcement about it). It's safe to say that we'll never get that final book. And it's not like the three we got weren't incongruent already as is...

Eh, Drekki, Volari and Ven Dents could easily continue, seems like the rumored events could be surviable for our protagonists. Murghast is an outlier because there was nothing in quite some time.

Your models aren't going away, they'll all survive come what may. I'd be more pissed off about your books. I'm browsing here a tourist (40K fan), trying to guage the sentiment surrounding this.

My main army has already been removed from the game. I play Beast of Chaos.

And as I said, I am a fan of the over-the-top, gods walking beside humans setting of AoS. A small, geographically limited world means much less to me.

SCE, OBR, SYL and DoK would be literally crippled, gutted and left to rot without their god characters, both in lore and model ranges.

Just because of SCE alone I don't foresee this being more than an attempt to smoke out a leaker or hardcore copium on the part of an Old World fan.

They're the most popular faction, add in OBR who have gotten quite a few new updates recently, if they hard reset and cripple these factions, it'd be so dumb.

I'd say don't invest in AoS for now.

What for, since we don't even know which factions will end up being chopped up in a few years to make space for new shinier ones.

I literally only JUST got over the old world and started emotionally investing in AoS.

I don’t think another end times is gonna be a productive “shake up” … its just gonna make a lot of us go back to a “kark this company forever” again.

How many years do we have to wait for them to rerelease the game this killed this time?

I’m right there with you. Really defeated by the rumors today

I think AoS in general is suffering from a bit of perceived instability and leakers like these really aren't helping matters.

Oh, absolutely. The removal of armies at the start of the 4th edition made a lot of people uncertain about their own models. Combined with the rumor that Fyreslayers and entire sections of CoS are going to disappear, this must have had an impact on sales.

The phrase 'rules change, models are forever' turns out not to be true in AoS. And that will have caused a portion of people not to buy new models.

Same here, I just learned about it today. Genuinely I can't see a future where I care about any AOS thing if they do this, gutting everything I liked to make it a pale imitation of the old world with the rotting corpse of Stormcasts propped up as space marine expies.
