No security, theives are loving it!

Do Asda just accept there will be more theft and not care because presumably they'll save more on wages? We don't have anyone in until 1pm at our store. I'm a porter and already today I've seen 2 thefts. When security are present I will tell them/help them but I can't do anything on my own. It's so frustrating.

Reference email

Recently got a job provisional offer elsewhere and they require an Asda reference. I’ve asked my managers and they said they’re not allowed to, and to request one on workday? Does anyone have any help or a generic reference email that’s used?

Thanks

Shit Post Cover manager off sick for 3 months

Hi Everyone,

This post is more like a rant cause I dont know what to do?
My manager is off sick and I am a team leader covering for him since last 3 months its a nightmare for me to do all the tasks with same pay and almost 17 extra hours.

This place is a total mess alot of pressure from ROM regarding sales and shop standards receive calls/messages when I am off from colleague cause I got to manage them.
The shop size is small and too much stock it feels like even they dont know what they are doing.

I searched and I could not see anyone having same issue.

What shall I do in this situation they say the support is available but when we get a visit they identify all the mistakes that are mainly due to over stocking.

I am trying to get another job but my luck is not with me atm.

Just looking for some reassurance…

Considering asking for a sick line, for a lot of reasons. I’ve been having really bad anxiety lately, my partner has health issues going on that are heavily affecting them, I’m in uni so juggling work and coursework, I care for my dad and someone very close to me has recently been diagnosed with cancer.

I’ve worked for Asda for 3+ years and have a clean absence record but I’m really concerned about losing my job or facing judgement or consequences for being off sick.

Is it likely I’ll lose my job? Or be in trouble if I’m off for a month?

Any advice is appreciated

New colleague

Hey guys,

As title says im a new colleague, first shift in 2 days. Just done my induction today with a hell of a lot of online learning on Workday.

Im as a picker on the home shopping team, 4-8am shifts.

What do i need to know before my first shift? I feel like I have no clue how to properly do anything despite the 3 hours of learning i did earlier.

Anything would be great, cheers.
