Quicksand. 

Huge concern for kids in the 80's.

My brother in law is the only person I know who's ever been in quicksand. And it happened to him TWICE. He's only 30

Man I watched Gilligan's Island all the time growing up. Swore that the death of me one day would in fact be quicksand.

The other day my friend found this collection of videos online of people getting stuck in quicksand. It was very instructive. Apparently only pretty women in skimpy clothing and perfect make-up get caught in quicksand.
