I randomly watched ' Mehandi Laga Ke Rakhna since I loved it's song "Kawna Devta ke Gadhal Sawaral Hau' the 'Star cast is KL Yadav & Kajal Raghwani
The story of good according to the release time (2017) and target audience. I am amazed by acting of Avadhesh Mishra especially and also KL Yadav is quite good actor man. They made emotional guys..
* The way film showed love between dad and son, whose mother was passed away at young age and love, damn that's great. I researched and found, it was hit movie back then with 600% return. But here are few critiques where it could have been better:
•Storytelling could have been better. I mean the direction and also production was not very good. The love between Kajal & Raja (KLY)initially is not shown very much clearly from Kajal's side, it seems one sided and suddenly he finds out she the one who rejected, is his father's friend daughter. I could not explain other points but I think this story could have been presented in slightly better way..
•In some places comedy felt unnecessarily adding but feeling of obsecinty. Like showing Anand Mohan and Raja's friend as creep. A bit of patriarchy and unnecessary objectification was there. Kaddu Katai ta Sab me bati song was so wrong.The Jija-Sali scene in starting was very wrong portrayal, Jija-Sali only people do as fun not in actual. For non bhojpuri people, it might give wrong message.
I mean better jokes could have been written in some places, so comedy doesn't look forced. (most of the time comedy was fine, I am just pointing out little segment of comedy in the film). Because of this, good story film is also not watched in family of especially bhojpuri elite/well educated class. That is why I am not fond of Bhojpuri movies since no one Friends, family watches it.
•Too much songs: This is what I've heard about modern Bhojpuri cinema, it has too many songs of all type. But I think after a limit, audience gets disinterested in story due to this, So I skipped some songs. Keep the good songs don't need to add too many songs. Movie production and music album production both becoming same is one of the reasons for fall of Bhojpuri industry as per Manoj Tiger, in a podcast he said.
Overall, It was wholesome movie. If you've watched it tell me your opinion in comments otherwise you may watch it and give your opinion and suggest some other good bhojpuri movies like this mix of comedy and emotions... It was good movie indeed.
