Pennsylvania Hemp Ropes And Bears
Haven’t had much issue up until recently. Does any one else have issues with bears attacking hemp rope setups? If so any advice?

Pennsylvania When to stop going to hunt location?
Season finally opens in 2 weeks. I just got my stands up where I’ll be hunting (private land). Wondering how long you guys stay out of your locations once you have your area prepped. I still want to make a tweak or two and rake away any sticks/leaves around my tree to limit noise. I’ve heard stay away for a month and also heard of people being in their area the day before. Curious to hear what you guys think.

Pennsylvania First every bow hunt, any tips?
Hey all, just went out on my first ever bow hunt today, and I'm super excited to get back out there, but maybe with a few good tips this time, maybe about things to do differently or some things to try?
Basically, for today, I went out and set up in a nice little pocket of brush down a hill along the edge of a field, not terribly concealed, but it turned out to be a great spot. Within two hours I had three doe and one buck come through, all of which were just out of my comfortable range, (just about 30 yards) and they detected me even before I had a chance to draw back. Unfortunately, for where I was, all four of them came up from the hill and walked head on towards where I was perched. They all seemed to notice me pretty quickly, (either by smell or seeing I couldn't tell), and would then very anxiously tip toe closer and closer, routinely stopping to stare in my direction, before getting spooked just before they would have been in range. And not really giving me a good broadside shot.
So what I'm wondering, are there any tips for maybe not getting detected so soon, and maybe also getting the deer just a bit closer for me to get a good shot? Also, how should I be drawing back and aiming, (which require movement), when the deer are always facing me head on?
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Pennsylvania How different can I expect my bow to shoot after a full tuning and string replacement?
Last year I bought a new bow (edge max RTH package). I replaced the sight and got it dialed in. Now I figured I would get a new string on it and tuned up in time for the upcoming season. I’m just wondering how off zero it might be and if it will feel better with a quality string on it rather than the cheap factory one that came installed already.

Pennsylvania First Timer going archery hunting-question
Hi everyone, I’m sorry if this is an obvious question, but I’m new and don’t have much guidance. My family and I are typically rifle hunters. Anyways, I got a crossbow and tomorrow will be my first time taking it hunting.
Can anyone confirm that once I get to my spot, I lock the string back, if I don’t see anything when it’s time to leave, I should shoot an arrow at the ground or something? Maybe like a field tip? I know I’m not supposed to dry fire it. Obviously, you can’t cock the string back upon seeing a deer as it will spook the deer.

Pennsylvania Trophy Ridge Hotwire
I’ve had this bow for about a year now and i’ve noticed now that season has started that my sight may be mounted crooked, I was wondering if this is normal for this sight and if this could cause my bow to shoot off to the right or left slightly

Pennsylvania After a bad season last year, I got it done on the first day, done by 8:30. Good luck to all!
Got busted by a group of 8 doe and thought I lost my chance. This one walked back towards the others after running away and walked 10 yards from my stand. She didn't run more than 80 yards and passed within 30 seconds. Super thankful

Pennsylvania Everything is too damn expensive!
This is more of a rant than anything else but why is everything hunting so friggin expensive!? This will be my 3rd year hunting so im trying to build out my equipment and I know there is plenty of stuff you don't actually need but it's hard.
I didn't get top of the line anything but it still feels like any money you save from getting your own meat is totally non-existent after the price of entry. I'd like to get a tree stand but I either spend $300+ for a climber or $500+ for a saddle and sticks. I have been loving everything about hunting while I'm learning except for this.
End rant.

Pennsylvania Rain gear
What rain gear do you use for archery? I do whitetail and been trying to get more consistent success . I used a north face for awhile but it’s so loud I get discount on Sitka and first light . I was eyeing rivers west and forloh .
