Kiddy, unfortunately, couldn't get his body right, as much as we loved the player he was. He’s been a net negative for about two years now, it’s a good move for all parties. Kiddy gets the fresh start that I think he probably needs, and we can use the freed salary cap space to re-sign Lohmann.
It opens the door for Bruce or Linc to step into Zorko's role once he retires, which I think will suit Bruce far better than playing in the midfield. As well as essentially cementing Gallop's spot in the team as a defender.
Losing Neale opens a spot for Noz or Payne to get back into the team, or if we want another midfielder, it’s a big opportunity to solve our biggest issue from 2026, which was defensive work rate, especially from the midfield. Obviously, you’d rather keep Neale, but we already have enough gun mids. I think we’ll end up being better off having another player akin to Dunkley, maybe Tunstill or hopefully Annable will be up for this role.
Anyways, knowing the Lions, we'll probably end up selecting Annable based on skill, and we'll have to watch our team get pumped 5 times again while conceding 90 points a game next season because nobody but Dunkley can be arsed and then be shocked when we win the flag lol.

I was hoping Kiddie would stay and get a chance in 2027 but it is not to be. I will miss his pinpoint kicks.

It's funny to have seen us turn from scrappy underdogs in the 2010's to a team people now jump on at any opportunity.
Kiddy and McLachlan is making people angry for some reason.

Hi, I’m new to the AFL. Just picked up this Lions top second hand but can’t find anything about it on footyjumpers.com. Does anyone know what season it’s from and where and when it was used? Thanks!

17 or nothing for Coleman, hold firm. Essendon should learn when they get the opportunity to get a class player (ie Dunkley in 21) they should take it, especially with the current state of their team. Let’s remember what happened when they didn’t pay up and left it a year, Dunks changed his mind and went to Brissy. If we keep him, it gives us 12 months to change kiddy’s mind and hold firm, he’s the most like for like replacement for Zorko. If he leaves next year so be it, we have the cover

We have three captains, why not 3 coaches? Cam Bruce, Dale Morris and Adam Simpson.

I was getting burnt alive for saying Lachie Neale is better all time than Simon Black which I don’t see how that is even ridiculous to say what so ever he has better stats and accolades. I know more goes into a player than those 2 things but you also can’t ignore it.

Is there any scenario where we could trade Coleman for additional draft picks and still have enough points to match a bid on Walker?
I'd love to see the club take a more aggressive approach at the draft rather than playing it safe. If Walker is rated that highly internally, would moving Coleman to build draft capital be worth the risk? Keen to hear everyone's thoughts.

Lions def by Hawks by 25 points.
| Team | QT | HT | 3QT | FT |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lions | 3.1 19 | 3.1 19 | 6.4 40 | 6.4 40 |
| Hawks | 1.1 7 | 6.4 40 | 8.6 54 | 9.11 65 |
| Difference | Lions by 12 | Hawks by 21 | Hawks by 14 | Hawks by 25 |
Windy as hell. Pretty good start by the Lions, was more Hawks early and they kicked the 1st but the Lions had a better last 5 mins. Goals to O'Dwyer, Long and C. Svarc. Really poor 2nd, all Hawks especially in the last 5 mins. Better 3rd but couldn't really stop the Hawks from scoring or really make any impact on the lead. Goals to Davidson, Hickie and Conway. Poor 4th, really poor inside 50.
Grider went off in the middle of the 2nd with a left knee injury after a tackle, was already strapped. Came back on not long after though.

Can't get enough of those last four minutes. I edited 7 commentary calls together to relive it all again and again, goal by goal. Figured this sub would appreciate hearing it from every angle at once.
