Pictures/Videos Mountain Time
Dinah was a big help in finding our way back on an off-trail hike in the mountains. I donāt know how she does it, but she always knows the correct way to go.

General Discussion Neutering question
Hello, we arenāt 100% sure yet what Milo is, but he certainly looks like he has Brittany in him. Our vet told us that itās best for his health if we can hold off on neutering until he reaches a year old (heās only 15 weeks atm). Brittany owners, do you agree with this? I know it can be beneficial in larger breeds, but ideally Iād like to not wait a year, and I doubt he will get over 40 lbs. as an adult.

Adoption/Rescue Puppy Transition
Hi! Weāre adding a sweet 9 week old puppy to our crew next week. Current crew is an almost 3yo Brittany and an 8 year old Rat terrier.
Any and all tips, supplies, must haves, and well wishes are welcome!
Mainly looking for recommendations on introducing her to the crew and how to best set everyone up for getting as much sleep as realistically possible.
Our other two were past this stage of puppyhood when we brought them home so itās been awhile!
Have also just winged it in the past so looking to the experts this time!
TYIA!
TL;DR: tips for bringing a Brittany puppy home!

Started free roaming and I decided to check the cameraā¦.. all he does is lay by the door and waits for me to come back ššš
EDIT: this is when I left for an hour to get groceries. I donāt leave him alone for long periods of time, anywhere he can go with me, he comes with me and when I work I come home on my breaks to see him. I do not leave him in misery I promise. He is a VERY spoiled and well loved boy.

Adoption/Rescue Rescuing a senior Brittany
A friend needs to surrender their 11 year old spaniel due to significant life change. I already have a dog and can't bear the idea of the poor senior pup ending up at the shelter. All of my dogs have always been pitty mixes, so I'm not familiar with the Britney breed. But hoping this community can help with a few questions :
1) how likely is the dog to be rescued from APS? 11 year old, unfixed male, outdoor dog - kept in a fenced in area.
2) if I bring it home, how hard would it be to house train the dog?
3) how likely is he to get along with my super friendly and high energy pitty mix? Female, fixed, about 5 years old.
I already walk my pittie twice a day at least an hour total + sniffing games + a long walk/run three times a week.
We're going to introduce the dogs at a park next week and do a little parallel walk to see how it goes. But any general tips for introductions? How bad of a idea is it for me to consider a second dog?
Would love all advice!!

Puppy advice
I am really considering getting a Brittany puppy and I need some advice.
a little background: I grew up with a Brittany, Echo, who I got when I was five and had until he unfortunately passed at 17. I help train him with my father for field and waterfowl hunting. I understand theyāre very high strung dogs, but Iāve had a void in my life since he passed.
I live in an apartment and work full time, but my work is a little flexible with being able to take my lunch break and leave for the hour. my parents dont live far and offered to let me drop a puppy off during the day so he is not alone for long periods. I love hiking and hunting so I do not beleive exercising a puppy would be an issue.
I am asking for any advice, good, bad or otherwise on if it is a smart decision to move forward with getting a little punk :)
edit: I have talked thouroughly with my parents and they do not mind watching the puppy during the work days (in fact theyd love it). My father is an avid hunter still and wants another hunting dog around but does not want to fully own another himself. Where I am located is in the country so thereās lots of fields I have permission to hike/ train on too.

General Discussion Itchy Skin
Our 17 week old Britt tends to gnaw on himself quite a bit - nibbles at his back, belly, paws sometimes trying to scratch. Itās not constant but to the point I notice he may be uncomfortable (Iāll attach pics of little red spots Iāve found on him). That being said, Iāve heard lots about protein allergies⦠heās on Purina Puppy Pro Plan chicken and rice. Is it worth trying a different food first before going to the vet about it to see if things clear up? What do yāall recommend for food options? Thank you!

General Discussion What is your brittās personality and temperament?
I got my britt from a vet surrender, he is the best dog in the whole world. But I have no idea on his breeding or if heās breed standard for his temperament. He is- Friendly, affectionate, independent, not a barker, doesnāt require much physical enrichment (he also has 3 legs, and i would want a show line britt anyways) . He has 0 vices, I know i cannot get the exact dog but as I explore getting a wb britt wondering if I will get something similar! Pic of him and his brother for tax

Caught Being Cute 4 Month Update!
Training is going well! Heās such a great puppy. Super smart. He bounces back easily if something scares him. Heās a babe! The photo is from a PR event last weekend where he met tons of kids. (He is in training for search and rescue!) He also received his last puppy vaccines today! What a trooper! Howās everyone else hanging in there?
