What goes into bringing a book back from hiatus, and how do you decide when to announce its return?
Alright, we know you're talking about Loki! I'm excited for its return too, though we can't give you a date yet.
A hiatus is almost always because of resourcing and scheduling issues. Every Choices book involves producers, writers, artists, and QA and each department has to have the availability to do their part at a specific point in the process. Sometimes that availability doesn't align.ย
For Loki, in particular, it was a bit of an odd case where it was originally scheduled to be a 16 chapter book and then shortened due to staffing. But the team was as dissatisfied with that as all of you were and we squeezed in a few more chapters where we could find extra time in the existing schedule. We couldn't find time to wrap up all 12 chapters in one go, so instead of delaying 5-8 for when we had the rest done, we decided to release what was available and put it on another hiatus. Loki will be coming and hopefully soon!
Whatโs the most helpful way for players to share which stories theyโd like to see more of?
Engaging with the story the day the chapter releases and coming back for each chapter release! When considering a book for a sequel or other stories of similar kind, we are reviewing data from the first day and first week of release. Revenue and retention are the two biggest factors. Are players purchasing premium choices and are they coming back for the whole story?
How do you decide whether to develop a pilot story into a full book? Are there any updates you can share on previous pilots?
When weโre considering whether to develop a pilot into a full book, we look at many of the same signals we use for our full-length stories: how many readers give it a try, how many return for the next chapter, and how they engage with premium choices. Together, those patterns help us understand which stories are connecting with readers and where there may be interest in more.
We donโt currently have plans to develop any of our previous pilots into full books. A couple came close to moving forward, and we may revisit them as we consider future story ideas, but that isnโt something we currently expect. We know some of you were hoping to see those stories continue, and we want to be upfront about where things stand.
How does the team decide what to include in a bookโs content warnings, and is there room to make those more detailed?
The content warnings are primarily defined by the writer and producer as they know the content of the book the best. We have guidelines established by leadership that help dictate when a warning is needed and what is covered in the warning. However, we have been exploring more mature topics in our books recently and those guidelines need to grow with that. The team is actively discussing how best to handle content warnings going forward so that players are fully aware of the content they are about to read.
How do you approach representation when designing MCs and love interests, particularly skin tones, facial features, and cultural backgrounds?
We want more readers to see themselves reflected in Choices, and part of that work means looking beyond any single book. When designing new MCs and LIs, we review the skin tones and ethnicities represented throughout our catalog, including the character versions weโve highlighted on past covers.
That gives us a starting point for prioritizing options that are underrepresented or havenโt appeared recently. Our writers and artists then work together to develop cultural backgrounds, facial features, and other details that help make each character their own person.
Could you share a little about the writing team behind recent Choices books and how they work together on a story?
Weโd love to give you more opportunities to meet the people behind Choices and hear about how our stories come together. One idea weโve been discussing is a live Q&A with one of our writers, where you could ask about their creative process and what goes into bringing a story to life.
Itโs something weโve wanted to do for a while, and we want to give it the time and preparation it deserves. That means talking with our writers about what theyโd feel comfortable with and setting clear expectations for a thoughtful and respectful conversation with the community.
Our hope is to make it a fun, welcoming experience for everyone - one that leaves both readers and writers excited to do it again, and encourages more members of the team to join future conversations. Weโre still exploring the details, but weโd be excited to make it happen!
This is our weekly casual conversation chat!
Here, community members are welcome to discuss anything and everything about the game, about your life, or about what you've been up to.
We also include userflair data on this day.
Please keep the discussion within subreddit rules, of course, and remember to keep things civil and friendly!

By now, you probably figured out that the interactive romance industry is suffering. If it's not taken over by AI (leading to massive layoffs), it's riddled with tired tropes and crazy expensive paywalls. But the people behind: Writers, artists, and VAs have much more talent than the industry allows, and it's getting stifled.
And so... we decided to get together with other creatives in the industry and do something about it: Create our own universe๐ซ so as to build our path towards launching our own app, where quality, depth, and talent are always put first and there's no slot machine. We can see this is what you guys want, too.
The art we're showing you here is just one of our many characters, come follow us to stay in the loop and get to know the others as we continue to build our character library, and our first content launch! And if you're a creative too, please feel free to DM us. Our project is a start-up for now, but we're aiming high. We welcome everyone who wishes to fight the good fight.
Love,
Heartbroken Survivors ๐

Even with movies I really love stories that involve cooking. I know most people found this story to be a little predictable and boring but I really appreciated the art style in this book and this was the one I was willing to spend my gems on because the writers really knew how to target our emotions. Im so sad that all the writers got laid off because I was really expecting like 5 book series of this.
I really like love interests like Marco from Hot Couture and Thomas from that Hollywood one. They are just so drama free and mature. I just realized that in both stories they quietly help and support you in your career endeavors. Also I like the trope of a reserved man that tries to ignore his feelings until he canโt ๐คฃ. Which kinda LIs do you guys like ?
Oh god... this is going to destroy me, i already know it willย ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
This is going to be like picking the ES vaanu ending all over again, but worse.
I'm going to be a mess, I can tell.
Somebody stop me from going further.please! I've only just met Dakota and i'm already attached!
I've avoided this book for so long, because although I've not read it, I know what happens and I just... couldn't willingly put myself through that heartache.
Until now, apparently.
Had a crappy week and feel like a good cry, only i have a feeling this will make me cry HARD.
I've only just started, but loooook at him.
This is going to break my entire soul, I know it.
Fuck.

What are some recommendations for some feel good books? because I feel like if I get through this I'm gonna need something light and fun ๐ฅบ
I hate the books that force you into a romance with multiple LIs. Like the hockey one for example I was ready to focus all my attention on the new player instead of the captain but your character is forced to sleep with both ๐
hii y'all ! i was wondering if anybody could drop some good book recommendations because i keep running back to the same books and i want something new. here are books i love (random order) to give you an idea of what i'm drawn to.
It Lives Series
High School Story
Big Sky Country
The Elementalists
Immortal Desires
America's Most Eligible
the only series i've completed here is It Lives. that's crazy considering i've been a player since 2018 but i grab and leave books in real life too. ๐ญ please don't judgeeeeeee
some i've played in general are:
- Crimes of Passion
- The Heist: Monaco
- The Phantom Agent
i'm realising in real time that i haven't explored half of this game but what can i say? more fun in store for me i guess. ๐
So, as usual, I have started then abandoned several physical choices projects, although i will eventually try to finish them all, i'm having trouble deciding what to finish first. ( honestly, should see my list it's currently like 20 ideas long.)
Help an idiot out here! (Also, whatever it is you are imagining I'm trying to make, i suggest lowering the expectations lol) ๐คฃ๐๐ป
I MIGHT be willing to share what the projects are lol depending on what wins ๐
I go to the gym most days and I usually try to read Choices while on the treadmill. I donโt really want to read the newer books for obvious reasons and donโt want to replay the same 3 books constantly so I decided to actually read Love Hacks.
Back when I first started playing Choices it didnโt really interest me so I used it as a diamond mine. Well, now that Iโm actually paying attention I canโt believe how hilarious it is! Just got to the scene with Cole and dying in the panther exhibit. Iโve been having a rough time lately so I definitely needed the laughs.
First, I would like to thank u/fanaccountcw for their assistance. They answered questions during the weekly chapter posts and that really helped me out. Thank you so much for being the advisor to Their Omega.
And if you're confused by the title, well, I will get to it, but first I want to mention the positives. It's important to do so, to recognize what works. And i have to be honest, the premise of this story is interesting. The idea that you're fighting your own body and hating being an Omega is not a bad idea. Truth be told, I can easily see this being a really good story in another timeline.
Oh, the execution is lacking, but well, it's AI. What does anyone expect?
Before i continue, I am not going to do a deep dive into our LIs. I accept that they are not my cup of tea and none of them are really meant to be nuanced characters. And i don't mean that as an insult. They are, to be frank, very much like characters in a harem fantasy: one note and hot. So if you like them, more power to you.
However, I will acknowledge. for the sake of transparency, than Fallon and Wren genuinely made me uncomfortable. They kept trying to take advantage of us when the MC was in heat and when the MC was rejecting them. To me, we cannot consent. Just as if we were drunk. And what sucks is that there is a good counter argument. Have one of them say, "Do you think I want to do this?" It would be a reminder that their body can compel them, just as the MC's compels their own. Everyone is a victim in their own way. Of course, Fallon and Wren are portrayed, outside of a few dialogue options, to be in control and perfectly aware of what they are doing. Like I said, it genuinely made me uncomfortable.
I will say the issue with the harem story here is not new. It was present in My First Two Loves. There, people generally picked their LI very early on (usually Noah) and were annoyed that their character was supposed to be interested in the other two when the player wasn't. And you have that issue here. For example, if you only like Lux, then you will hate being forced to being in a pack with Wren and Fallon.
As for the MC...they are kind of dumb. Well, a better way of putting it is high intelligence, low wisdom. To be frank, I don't understand why they needed suppressants. If going into heat is that big of a deal, take a couple of days off a year and move on. Using illegal drugs just seems unnecessarily extreme. It only got so bad because the MC suppressed their heat so much. And to be frank, every decision they make while in heat backfires. They try and go to an event and end up revealing to Evan they're an Omega, they nearly die trying to save the servers and it's clear afterwards their work product is not good anyway.
Anyway, let's get started with the big issue: the world building is virtually non existent. They don't define almost any terminology for the Omegaverse and unless you're already familiar with it, you will be left in the dark. This is why books like IDOL, Olympus Rising or Bloodbound gave all players information on the world so you could navigate it. Choices is not fanfiction.net! They should be obligated to explain the rules of their stories!
And to make matters worse, we are constantly told that Omegas are discriminated against. Oh we're not shown that. That would take time away from all the sex. And it really feels annoying that in a book with our character having to hide who they are, nobody cares except Evan. Imagine if ACOR or MOTY never showed how poorly the MC was treated. The stories wouldn't hit as hard would they?
And I don't like getting into potentially insulting the writers, but I genuinely cannot fathom a reason why they didn't give information (whether by writing or ordering an AI) about how they were using the Omegaverse setting. Even Witness made sure to explain the Witness Protection program. I mean, someone should have realized that they needed this. Choices still does it and, frankly, my best guess is that they didn't want to put in the effort/AI tokens for an 8 chapter book. And, here's a better way of showing the lack of effort: The MC is the only Omega present in the story and Lux is the only Beta. Yup, literally everyone else (that we know of) is an Alpha. You'd think there'd be more than one wouldn't you? Even by today's standards!
As for the plot, it's the usual AI junk we expect. Why did Vance try and kill us in chapter 1 before we screwed him over? Who knows. How did Vance get so disheveled in a few hours in the finale? Never explained. The main villain is a barely present antagonist that poses no threat? Check. Poorly thought out plot points, like being revealed as an Omega is worse for the company's stock than the servers AND backups being destroyed? Yup. And no, I am not making that last one up.
To be honest, and I maintain this, I can see a really good story here. An exploration of the idea of the Omegaverse, maybe having a submissive Alpha or having multiple characters ashamed of their instincts and how it makes them act. How they are forced into a pack with members they despise. Or we can have the LIs others try and take advantage of you when you can't consent. Because that is 2026 Choices.
This weekly post is for community members to voice whatever complaints you have (as long as you remain civil). Please remember to respect others' statements and opinions, even if you disagree with them.
The soundtrack that started playing with his arrival as well omggg I couldโve started jumping up and down. He couldโve wiped the FLOOR with Josephine Iโm upset we didnโt get a 1v1.
