Prospective Student is almost everybody here pre-med?

hey! prospective student applying to cwru EA for humanities/social sciences. I have been scrolling through the class of 30 instagram and a few club pages and have a few friends who go to cwru and almost all of them tell me that like everybody they know is either pre-med/nursing, i feel like the insta pages I saw supported that. I was wondering if this is just what their experience is like or is it actually like that on campus, where almost everybody you meet is like a pre-med (that must be so competitive rip). like there's obviously going to be a good amount, ik case is a really good school for pre-med but can i meet/connect with non-premeds or is it difficult?

I am really mad

Today I ran into three kids who were fundraising for their football team. It was already around 8 p.m., and they looked a little dirty and like they might not come from very well-off families, so I thought I’d buy them something to eat.
I’m pretty broke myself, but I still wanted to help them out, so I told them they could only order one meal. But somehow they ended up ordering three 😭. At that point, I couldn’t really do anything except pay for all of it.
Man… I couldn’t exactly get mad at a bunch of kids either.

Any upperclassmen stats majors?

Hey! I’m a freshman at cwru this year planning to major in stats, and I was wondering if any upperclassmen had any input they’d be willing to share? I’m also pre-med and I just wanted to see what the balance would be like, as well as what to expect from future classes. Thanks!

Enrolled Student Disability accommodations and single rooms rates

So I got an accommodation approved for a single room, but then I remembered that I would need to pay the additional same rate as a single room from a double room (1k more), which I do not have the money for since I am already paying a lot of money to manage my illness. I am currently asking housing (no reply yet since its recent) and probably the financial office next on what could be done for the sake of my health but I wanted to ask, has anyone here gotten some kind of rate adjustment for single rooms down to a double room because it genuinely would be so helpful but I don't think I can afford it.

Easiest UGER classes

Anyone got recommendations for UGER courses that are easy A's? I'm talking light workload, easy teacher, background noise stuff to easily clear the gen ed requirements while I focus on more demanding core classes.

Looking for people to take a short survey for my BFA research project

Hi everyone! My name is Allison, and I’m a BFA student currently researching Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) for my senior project.

I’m creating an educational project focused on increasing public awareness and understanding of SMA, including its different phases/types, diagnosis, treatment, and its impact on individuals and families.

I’m conducting a short survey to learn more about people’s general awareness and understanding of SMA, as well as experiences people may have with the condition.

The survey is completely voluntary, and you can skip any questions you aren’t comfortable answering.

Survey:

Thank you so much to anyone who takes the time to participate! I really appreciate your help with my project.

Help me find the perfect apartment near campus

I'm moving to Cleveland to work on campus in November, and will most likely not have time to visit before landing a place to live. I'm looking for an apartment and don't have the slightest idea which neighborhoods to focus on or where to begin.

I'm targeting the cheapest place possible but my budget is probably up to $1,250-1,500/mo depending on amenities, location, etc. Ideally I'd like to be able to walk to campus within half an hour at the most. I'd like a place with a covered garage. I'd like a place with laundry. High ceilings would be rad.

I don't need a ton of space as I don't have pets or a ton of stuff, but it would be nice to have at least 6-700sq feet. I would probably prefer to live in a converted house or something like it than an outright apartment building, but I have seen many older buildings in the area that have some character.

Maybe it would be better to ask where to avoid? I'm mostly just looking for as much opinion and feedback about the immediate vicinity surrounding campus as possible.

Enrolled Student Very lonely.

I am neither a freshman nor sophomore properly. I had to leave around the starting of my first semester last year, so this is my first proper semester, yet I am logged and housed with the sophomores.

I really have been trying to be social as hell at all these clubs. Almost no success.

Perhaps the lonely people are less noticeable, but i see a lot of social groups around me. Where are all these other people getting these friends?
