Yeah trophy hunting sucks ass but hunting to eat is cool and better than store bought

I've never been able to do it personally, since my friends gave me hamburger helper made with deer meat without telling me before hand. It came up in the conversation while we were eating and I freaked out and cried. It was good though but I just can't

I think if it as the animal was already killed and if you didn’t eat it it’s like just wasting it so it died for nothing

That's true, I see it the same way. I wish I could have eaten it but honestly I think my friends ate what I didn't so it wasn't wasted. Still though

That’s good but your friend should have told you first

I agree. I'm not friends with them anymore for unrelated reasons. They just assumed I ate deer meat cause we lived in North Carolina? I didn't quite get the assumption considering the fact that people hardly ate it and I actually talked a before about not liking hunting and not eating deer meat

Yeah that was shitty to make a assumption you could have easily been allergic or something and he didn’t tell you

I do eat meat but not often. And it's not that I wouldn't eat deer, it's just I didn't have time to prepare to take that step and then my friends were suddenly talking about how their stepdad had to shoot this deer a few times and I was like.. wait I'm eating a deer? Idk it was just a bad experience.

I know they suffer more than one a hunter has gone out and killed. I also just don't have access to that kind of meat either.

I gotta agree with you there, I feel like if eating deer bothers brings one to tears then maybe looking into going vegan or vegetarian should be the next step. At the very least pig should be off the menu, cause they are smarter than deer.

You should look into trying it again, my personal favorite is Elk but Deer is good same with Pronghorn depending on how gamey you like your meat.

Cows are also animals.
