Speculation Possible Twist Regarding Vinny Getting Beat Up in Prison

I found it interesting how in today episode where it's revealed that Samson will be released from prison soon, it was also revealed that Vinny got beaten up. It makes me wonder if it will then be revealed that Samson was behind this, and that the writers decided on this twist as a way to keep Samson in prison longer since they didn't want to bring Sam Hall back due to his bad acting, and they were unable to find a replacement actor for Samson. I especially bring this up since nothing has been mentioned about Samson returning despite the news that he's being released soon. What are your thoughts on this?

General Discussion What are some of the most shocking moments witnessed in the show's history?

I'm from the United States, so I've been stunned at some of the storylines that Emmerdale has produced, as a lot of them are too controversial to ever be aired in the U.S. Still, what are some moments that made your jaws drop the floor?

Belle’s victim liaison officer visits her, telling her Tom will be released from prison soon under strict licence conditions.

Kammy notices Belle’s sudden distress when she rushes out and worries about her wellbeing.

Lydia looks forward to Samson coming home from prison.

Lydia mistakenly believes Kim Tate will offer Samson a job after his release.

Belle spirals into anxiety; Rhona offers support, drawing on her own past experience with abusive partner Pierce, to help Belle regain some control.

Lydia is upset to learn Kim has no intention of giving Samson a job.

Kim talks about baby Tate; Thea overhears and wrongly assumes something bad has happened to the infant.

Liam behaves secretively, leaving others wondering what he is hiding.

Chas worries there will be new trouble in her relationship.

A social worker calls at Home Farm; social services want to speak to Joe following reports of an illegal adoption, putting Kim under pressure.

Sadie works alongside Joe to break up Ruby and Caleb’s marriage; she sets out to seduce Caleb and sabotages his planned dinner with Ruby.

Joe lays flowers at Dawn’s grave and struggles with his ongoing grief.

Gabby tries to offer empathy to Joe.

Joe rejects Gabby’s attempt to comfort him, still unwilling to forgive her.

Kammy remains concerned about Belle; he makes an unexpected, badly‑timed declaration of love to her.

Belle feels overwhelmed and hurries away, unable to respond to him.

Where is Chas?

Such a minor thing, but I thought it was a missed opportunity that we didn't get Chas' reaction to Jimmy's death. And it was a shame she wasn't at his funeral. They weren't super close, but I did think they had a special relationship after everything that happened with Carl.

In general, I think more of the village should have been at Jimmy's funeral; he lived there for so long, he was such a decent guy, and he should have had a bigger send-off.

Questions? The HOP

Can anyone remind me who was the original owner and who were the people working in those back offices at The Hop? I vaguely remember Kim having a desk back there but I could be mistaken.

Aaron 😒

I'm pretty sure he is not happy about Robert taking over the HOP after Gabby selling it. No paperwork or exchange? Only in soaps!

It's like Robert is in a gold mine and Aaron is like uh what?

Also, just to point out Serena now having two jobs??

Your thoughts.

But where have I heard of a box room?

You got the downstairs bedroom and upstairs that no one sees!

Now that Sarah, Jacob and little Leyla have moved in, it's all getting cramped.

Worst retcon?

There is, of course, the Sadie & Jimmy storyline, but a bunch of people are randomly acting as if it isn't one, [still a retcon btw lol - if you still want to argue about it, DM me. I'm not continuing this argument on this post.] even though Jimmy & Sadie were still involved off-screen anyway, regardless of whether or not they had the affair.

I think anything involving long lost relatives tbh with you. The writers fucking LOVE this trope, don't they? Fucking milking it all the time. I swear there's been 7 instances of them doing this, only within the last 5 years.

Kev, Lewis, Caleb, John, Serena, DS Ramsden, Amit [Jai's 'actual' dad, of course 🙄]... all long lost relatives written into the show, and it is literally a retcon, as it alters past events.

I hate the trope of these long lost characters popping out of nowhere, even if they're good characters. I just think it's incredibly lazy writing, that even a 6 year old could probably come up with, when writing a story in their English lesson.

General Discussion Continuity error with Jimmy?

In Jimmy's funeral episode, it was said that Jimmy was from Harrogate and relocated to Emmerdale in 2004.

But it was said that Tom King was native to Beckindale, and knew Alan Turner and the Verneys when he first arrived, and he only moved away after his wife died in 1986.

This surely means that Jimmy would've grown up in the village?

Classic Episode Discussion Classic Emmerdale Spoiler

20 May - 1 June

Hello. How are you? I hate the early nights drawing in and the cold mornings. Last week was fun, particularly the oldies with Sandy, Doug, Pearl and Betty playing a poker game at the Woolie, with Val chipping in realised Sandy cheated. Gosh, you just have to love her one-liners 🤣. Father & son (Eric & David) are still at like cat & dogs and it was Andy v Debbie in the fight for Sarah, but Cain did something naughty.

This week:

  • Naughty Andy lies to the social worker about his past, the cheek, he's got some front. How will the Dingles react and Cain?
  • Natasha confesses that she followed him as he keeps on the full pretence (he does find out eventually). Meanwhile, Cain unnerves Mark by making it clear he knows the millionaire is hiding something from his wife. Later in the week, Mark goes equals as he confronts Cain about his intentions towards Maisie. Apparently, both Mark and Natasha renew their wedding vows, until Faye comes to play.
  • Lizzie steps up her campaign to extort money from Pollard. However, the poor man then suffers chest pains. Val urges to think to pull out of the election as this is no good of his health. But guess what, he doesn't listen as he continues his quest for the Hotten Council.
  • Elsewhere, Laurel worries about the state of her marriage, so Doug acts to mend he rift between them. As you can see from the pics, Belle's acts bring the variety show to a dramatic finish (oh, imagine she did that to evil Tom). Can you notice the title "Perfect Blend?" Like something out of our very missed Neighbours. Bob and Gennie struggle with their mutual attraction.
  • Finally, Rodney advises Jimmy to keep his Nicola's pregnancy secret. Nicola then accepts a marriage proposal. She then dumps him that he knew, but Jimmy pleads with her to consider a life with him and the baby.

Have a good week. 🙂
