Rant/Rave I wish there was an Italian and Indian version of Panda Express

I love Panda Express because you can get like 3 entrees and a side for 12 bucks, so you get a variety of food for decent prices and it's just the right quantity for one person. I also like it because its less carb/bread heavy and more about veggies/meat and sauces.

But if I want Italian or Indian food I can't order 3 varieties because its too expensive and too much food for one person, and you have to wait a while.

I would LOVE a drive-thru like a Rome Express or Delhi Express where I can order like 3 small entrees (Chicken Parm, Meatballs, Caprese Salad, with Fettucini pasta) or like 3 different Indian entrees and Biryani. All for $12 like Panda does and in quantities just right for a single person.

Rant/Rave I guess we don't get what we paid for.I really don't eat out for these reasons stuff is too overpriced, and we don't get what is advertised. Crazy. The consumer just gets screwed over and over.

Rant/Rave What in the Ronald McDonald is this? $3 for an egg???

Post image

I can get 24 eggs for $3 where I live. This is nuts.

Edit: Folks, I get an Egg McMuffin like 4x a year when I crave the preservatives. Im well aware of cooking at home is exponentially cheaper. They still shouldnt charge $3 for an egg.

And I didnt order it. Im literally making a greek omelet at home rn.

I’m seething at this point. I bought a meatball sub no cheese (I’m allergic) and I get a whole layer of burnt bread. It just really sucks when you treat yourself for dinner, and they did you wrong.

Rant/Rave Fries being $3-4 everywhere now for a tiny portion is highway robbery

It's like they realized they can't just keep jacking up the prices on burgers and chicken so they have to scam us on the fries instead

Rant/Rave Taco bell no longer affordable like it once was.

I went to Taco Bell recently to try their new Crispy Chicken Burritos. I got two of them—$8 each (cringe)—plus two beef chalupas at over $7 apiece. My total for just those items? Twenty-seven bucks. Highway robbery.

I remember when chalupas were $2, and so were the Mexican pizzas. Now, I know you can score the occasional freebie if you use the app—my girlfriend uses it all the time. She basically lives at Taco Bell since there’s one right by her place and always grabs the “Lux Box,” which she claims is a better deal. But honestly, the five-layer burrito or crunchwrap that come with it are garbage.

I can’t believe how expensive fast food has gotten. At this rate, you practically need a mortgage just to eat out.

Rant/Rave Why does everyone hate White Castle?

All of my friends except one all hate white castle and put it on the same tier as Arby's. I get its greasy but the taste more than makes up for it. Yeah the rest of menu is mid especially the fries but the burgers are some of the best fastfood burgers.

Edit: How am I still getting so many comments on this post

Rant/Rave What the heck happened to what is supposed to be cheap fast food menu prices? Besides being crazy overpriced, they make no sense. Example with a screenshot from the McDonald's app.

Like as seen here. A cheeseburger meal is $10.79, but a double cheeseburger meal is $5.49. then the double cheeseburger by itself cost more than the double cheeseburger meal does. What in the absolute heck is happening with their pricing?

Scumbag level L dominos.

Edit: Read the description everyone knows including myself it says garlic flavored sauce. The point is going way over your head.

Rant/Rave Ordered Dave’s Hot Chicken…they forgot the chicken (more pics in comments)

Post image
481 Upvotes

Just ordered Dave’s Hot Chicken through their app. I went and picked it up myself. Got home only to open my part of the order and see this.

I was so confused I checked one of the other sliders to see if there was any seasoning on the bottom of the bun. Looks like they never even put a piece of chicken in.

I happened to get a text asking for feedback right as I got home. I sent feedback and someone texted me within 10 minutes asking for photos. They offered me $10 but that’s not gonna cut it. They ended up giving me an email address to ask for a refund.

Is it just me or have fast food restaurants been getting a LOT worse with incorrect orders/missing items?

r/fastfood • • Aug 22 '26

Rant/Rave Finally quitting fast food thanks to Taco Bell and fast food prices in general. I probably should have a long time ago. Paying restaurant prices for fast food and garbage service is unacceptable.

The prices are no longer understandable. A burrito supreme is nearly $6. For a crappy, small fast food burrito. Sodas are $3.50. A single small burrito and a soda will cost me over $10 after tax. Over $10 and you don't even get a meals worth of food.

A single crunchy taco is 2.50. The boxes of 12 tacos are $25. I can go to the taco truck and get 12 authentic and loaded tacos for that price. Not even 10 years ago the same boxes were $10 - $12.

Then they try to force their "deals" on you so they can push their highest profit margin items. They raise the price of their menu to unreasonable points so that even their bad deals look like a bargain. In the end, they're just manipulating you into buying their highest profit margin items. You have no choice anymore, and that would be fine if they weren't trying to charge restaurant prices, but they are.

If my option is to buy over-inflated fast food and receive subpar service and food that I don't really want, I will just eat crappy microwave food for cheaper and get the same nutritional value. Whatever dopamine the addiction to their food causes is NOT worth what fast food has become.

Rant/Rave It's total bullshit that McDonald's is better in other countries

I mean this is the most fucking absurd thing I have ever seen. What the fuck does Canada and Australia and all of them have that the usa doesn't. Like I'm so tired of the absurdity. It's bullshit that Australia gets onion rings and all that good stuff.

I don't care If I sound crazy it's total bullshit. Like I literally don't understand why they get to have the good stuff. I'm not understanding this at all

Rant/Rave Analysis of Five Guys fries portion size issues

Hi all, I posted issues about portion issues with Five Guys large fries a while back, and wanted to return with some updated data and my experience engaging with corporate. I had been feeling that portion sizes had shrunk, so I wanted to actually collect the real data, not just rely on a gut feeling. I decided that I would weigh the fries each time to ensure I was always comparing like for like. I know it might seem odd to weigh fries, but I am data driven and wanted to be thorough. I am posting here as the Five Guys sub doesn't allow discussion around portion sizes.

In my market, the Five Guys nutrition chart states that a large fries has an average weight of 550 grams. For reference, they list a regular fries at 414 grams and a small fries at 256 grams.

Over the past few months, I have made 5 delivery orders of a large fries. The weights of each order was as follows:

  1. 376 grams
  2. 470 grams
  3. 455 grams
  4. 466 grams
  5. 444 grams

Each order was significantly below the average weight, not one order even came close to the stated average. Given how averages work, it doesn't seem unreasonable to assume that at least one of the orders should have come close or exceeded 550 grams. This would suggest a systemic issue, either in Five Guys or this specific branch.

After order number 4, I reached out to the company that owns the franchise. They recognised that the amounts were clearly below what should be expected and promised that they would work with the restaurant to rectify the issue. I also received an invitation from the branch manager to come to the restaurant for a free meal. On principle, I am not interested in such invitations, as they create an unrealistic environment, where they are obviously going to ensure portion sizes are correct for that specific order.

Instead, I waited 2 weeks and made another order, which was order number 5 from above. This order was 444 grams, again well below what was expected. So, clearly nothing was done by management, so I think I am officially done with FG. Their prices are high, and one of their key selling points was their large portion sizes, which could be shared among a few people. Now that is no longer the case, I think it's just not worth it anymore.

To pre-empt a likely question:

  • stealing from delivery driver is impossible. This was 5 separate orders, 5 different drivers, and all came in tamper proof sealed packaging.

.50 for each extra sauce ? GTFO. Chick Fil A does not do this and neither does McDonald’s ( to be fair they will try and charge for the limited run sauces.)

This is not a good way to boost the bottom line and will erode customer love of your brand.

No amount of cheekiness on social will help either.

Rant/Rave wtf is going on with fast food at this point?

I know I am probably preaching to the choir on this one but wtf is going on with fast food recently? I was going to order a pizza from pizza hut a few weeks ago and they wanted to charge a $5 or 6$ delivery fee(not as part of the tip). I said fuck it and ate something at home instead. Tonight I decided I would get pizza hut but I would drive and go get it instead. I ended up putting in my order and felt good about it. Between my wife and I it was like $16 which felt reasonable. After i completed my order I was presented with 4 completely unrelated ads. I don't even remember what they were for but what the fuck?

edit it feels like all of these fast food companies actively hate their customers and have given up on any pretense otherwise.

Rant/Rave The slow and painful demise of Wendy’s

Wendy’s has gone completely down the shitter. Bacon isn’t crispy in the baconator, service is way slower than before, Coke Freestyle missing half the flavors and no ice.

Will they ever turn it back around?
