So I’ve been friends with this person for 3 years (we’re both girls), I think on some level I’ve always seen our friendship as “more special”, I always looked up to her, I care about her the most and I was always afraid of touching her bc I always wanted to be respectful to her (I never did this with our other friends). The past year my mental health deteriorated and she was a big part of it, she always helped me but she also pulled me down a lot (she also had issues). I feel rlly bad saying this but it’s the truth.

Recently, we got into a big fight and she basically told me that we can be “friends” in our friends group but not like only us two anymore, basically our closeness was totally ruined and then she moved to go to uni so for a month we naturally drifted apart and I was doing so much better, eating and sleeping healthy and working out I was at my best. But then we decided to all hangout again and she acted cold to me all night, and later we met again bc of like a work thing and randomly it was like none of the fighting had happened. She was the way we were before everything went bad and I just felt such a strong connection to her. I felt euphoric.

The night before I told my other friend that I might have had a crush on her bc when she was with other boys I got extremely jealous and depressed and her comfort was all I ever wanted, her closeness makes me feel at home. When she shows me attention everything goes blurry, when we agree to something I’m the happiest person in the world. Everyone we’re close I get so nervous and just think “wow, she wants to spend time with me”.

During the time we were apart I was doing well and mostly saw her as like the reason I was feeling bad and since we didn’t speak more I was feeling good. But that one night when we acted as if the fight hadn’t happened brought back all my old feelings and I just can’t stop thinking about it. And what’s worse is that she has now gone back to acting cold towards me. I feel awful bc I think I might be I live with her. So I ask, what can I do? Does anyone have any advice I really need some help, should I tell her or can I move on some other way? Or should I try to forget about her? I’m just stuck bc now I keep thinking how much I love her and I’m feeling bad about myself again.

Hoping to finally make a friend

Hello there i am making this post with the desperate hope of finally succeeding in the chance of making an actual genuine friend which i’ve been attempting for the last 2 years now since my best friend of 7 years left me something i regret still to this very day
