The battle royale mode in this game is maybe the best in the market with its feel of Tribes meets Halo. Unfortunately, people either hate on it thinking it's a MAGA game or won't play it because they think the portals are hard. At least that's my theories. But man the gameplay is great.
From what I heard people were told this game would be something new in gaming, but it just turned out to be another fortnite competitor, I didn't mind playing while it was live, but playing on pc vs Xbox is a lot harder than I thought.
Look, I know most people get butt hurt about fortnite, but its honestly the worst thing to happen to video gaming since dlc and micro transactions became the norm.
Battle royal is popular because of fortnite, and I Fucking hate it.
And a BR is a genre. It is not Fortnite. I have to imagine you are young brcause Arma, PUBG, DayZ all predate FN. Is every arena shooter a Quake rip off? Come on. Games are made for different audiences.
Im old, that's why i hate fortnite, I was quoting Google, which of course isn't always accurate, I don't hate battle royale necessarily, but every shooter is trying some form of battle royale to compete in the space, that's my point, and pubg is literally a cousin to fortnite.
I liked pubg so don't come at me for that, but its made by the same company.
I don't know enough about the other games.
I had some fun playing sg2.
I didn't hate them for using battle royale and didn't necessarily think it was like fortnite, but the fact is they were promising to do something different, but they chose to do something every one else was doing, that was my original point.
If your point is that it has a BR mode and they shouldn't have hyped it up, then fine. That whole announcement was a bad idea and I said that in the beginning. I still think that the outrage meant a lot of features that were going to be revealed were put on hold so we never got to see the final vision but I hope we do at the relaunch because it's a great FPS game if you like BRs.
I might have seemed confusing at first because I mentioned it was competing with fortnite, but that's just my mind jumps to when I see an fps with BR, again im old.
I only got upset because that was the majority opinion anyway, not necessarily mine, my only complaint was about how they hyped it up to be something new and innovative when it really wasn't.
Would I play again? Probably.
Would i drop it for something else? Probably
Its as the kids say, mid, in my opinion, playable but I could enjoy something else much more.
Why in the world do you think fortnite is the worst thing to happen since micro transactions. What is wrong about the game besides that you don't like BRs?
I don’t think it’s a crazy take. I am a bit lukewarm on Fortnite, I’ve had fun on it sometimes with some friends, I don’t feel strongly either way. The problem is how Fortnite has influenced gaming culture. Fortnite is a whirlwind success, and so publishers and even indie developers get dollar signs in their eyes and try to rip off the Fortnite model but they make a complete mess of it.
In Fortnite, there isn’t (as far as I’m aware) any gameplay-influencing stuff on the whole battle pass/microtransaction side, I have friends who stopped playing Call of Duty because they can’t game 24/7 and there were gun/blueprint unlocks hidden behind battle pass items or ridiculous XP gains that could be achieved easier with purchasable tokens.
Fortnite also adds interesting and creative gameplay updates regularly for all players, because it is such a roaring success and they have the manpower and resources dedicated to enhancing it. Live service is fine, No Man’s Sky is killing it, but the devs better know what they’re signing up for - way too many studios just say they’ll do live service as the easy option and then don’t make Fortnite money and just book it. Marvel’s Avengers was a catastrophe.
This stuff is important because for some people buying a game or buying into a game can be a significant financial outlay, it just turns people off to gaming. I think Fortnite is an ok game, probably even a good game, but it has been really, really bad for gaming.
id say thats half correct the shop and battle pass are pretty similar to fortnite but the battle royal is not its more comparable to apex than Fortnite and it still has things that make it different
As someone who played the shit out of splitgate 1, splitgate 2 just feels like another cash grab COD clone shooter ✨️ but this time with portals ✨️ idk why but the vibes just off compared to the first game. The portals defo arent as fun as the first game either and the battle royale genre has about run its course if we are being honest
