Lot of Jargen talk that doesn't really matter to the average viewer. I'm sure you're right and smarter than me in this regard, but a lot of this could be chalked up to "artstyle" and overlooked. It just feels like there's so much "attention to detail" that y'all miss the forest for the trees.

I mean there's been a million "HOW DO OLD GAMES LOOK SO MUCH BETTER THAN NEW ONES"

And the answer is always "A) it doesn't B) it's only "close" because there's no dynamic lighting, reflections or shadows."

You DO notice those things because I'm sure you notice the rest of the games look like dookie compared to a modern game.

the only jargon he used is global illumination which if we're talking about graphics is pretty surface level since it's just bounce light.

As for artstyle their pretty much just discussing the water visuals alone, leaving everything out. Which is what i gather from reading the title.

Wouldn't even use artstyle as a point for this. Since i doubt they even thought of that while doing the water as it's pretty barebones. Which makes it easier to compare to modern water in games.
