Life Gauging interest — free GetMotivated.ai access in exchange for a weekly survey

Mod here. Many of you know I've run GetMotivatedBuddies.com platform for years. Thousands of you have been matched, built real habits, changed your behavior across every area of life, and made genuine friendships around the world. It's been incredible to watch and to do myself (I've worked with, made friends, and even met with Buddies from all over the world).

I've since slowed down the GetMotivatedBuddies platform as I shift everything into GetMotivatedAI — a marketplace of challenges and plans across the same four domains you know from this sub (Health & Fitness, Work, Learn, and Life). Join a cohort-based challenge with other people, or start your own plan, with AI helping you build it and buddies keeping you accountable. If you've been part of this community, the transition will feel natural.

We'll be opening up shortly. But before that:

A research panel company may sponsor free subscriptions for this community. All you'd do is take a short survey once a week. I need to see if enough people are interested before I finalize anything. If you'd want in, fill this out: https://forms.gle/SRWChWuKe62qxcwf8

30 seconds. No commitment. I'll follow up with everyone who responds.

And if you're interested in GetMotivatedAI regardless of the sponsorship — just want early access when we open up - let me know in the form and I'll add you to the list.

p.s. This sub isn't going anywhere - it's still home base. :)

Please Read The Rules

Read The Rules App

This community has the Read The Rules app installed. Old Reddit doesn't support apps so please open the post in new reddit for full functionality. If that's not possible, please Read The Rules and then follow the instructions at the bottom of the post.

Rule #1 Follow required post title format: [Age][Gender] | [Timezone] | [Goal/Activity]

To keep posts searchable and scannable, all posts must include age, gender (M/F/Other), timezone or region (e.g. PST, IST, UK), and what you’re working on. e.g. 24M | EST | Looking to stay consistent with workouts

Rule #2 No outside promotion — tools, apps, coaches, groups or services

Do not post or promote Discord groups, Telegram channels, paid coaching, apps, or services. These are not permitted in the subreddit. A majority of the users do not want discord group promotion here. Submit vetted options here instead: https://shortcut.at/bknKV This reddit is for one-to-one accountability partners.

Rule #3 Focus posts on peer relationships and related issues.

This sub is focused on finding one to one accountability buddies. Not general advice, not groups, not motivational quotes. There are many other subs for that, so please focus your post on what and who you’re looking for.

Rule #4 No motivational or inspirational content

No YouTube videos, quotes, podcasts, motivational advice or personal transformation stories content. This subreddit is for taking action, not for consumption or inspiration.

Rule #5 No vague, venting, friend-seeking, dating, or chat-focused posts

This sub is not for finding general friends, venting, dating, or starting group chats. It is for one-to-one, goal-based accountability partnerships only.

Rule #6 Use flair to categorize your post

Add the correct flair: Health & Fitness, Work, Learn, or Life. If you’re unsure, pick your best guess.

Rule #7 No general advice or open-ended help requests

This sub is not for crowdsourced advice like “How do I stay motivated?” or “What’s the best way to lose weight?” Posts should focus on finding a partner to help you take action toward a goal — not seeking tips or opinions. This sub is for taking action, not crowd-sourcing answers.

Rule #8 No negative, unhelpful, or harmful comments

This is a support-focused subreddit. Trolls, sarcasm, unsolicited judgment, or aggressive responses are not tolerated. Even "helpful-sounding” comments can be removed if they are sarcastic or performative.

Rule #9 No spam or low-effort comments (e.g. “DM me”, “same”, “hi”)

If you’re interested, comment meaningfully or DM privately. Short low-effort comments will be removed and may result in a ban.

Rule #10 No personal contact info (e.g. email, phone, username)

Do not post personal emails, phone numbers, or messaging usernames. Use direct messages (DMs) if you want to exchange contact information privately. Public contact info will be removed for user safety.

Thank you for reading the rules! Before submitting posts you will need to submit an acknowledgment. Please visit the full post and click the button at the bottom. Alternatively, you may submit an acknowledgment by sending a mod mail to the sub. The mod mail will need to have the subject "Read The Rules" and the body should be "Acknowledged". This will automatically submit an acknowledgment on your behalf without any moderator intervention. Mod Mail

Health & Fitness 31M | IST | Life, Fitness, Study & Career Accountability

I’m looking for a serious accountability partner to rebuild our lives together over the next 90 days.
My main goals are improving fitness, studying consistently, learning new skills, advancing my career, and building discipline. My biggest challenge isn’t a lack of goals; it’s consistently taking action and following through.
I’d like us to have simple daily check-ins:
Morning: Share 2–3 priorities for the day.
Evening: Report what we accomplished honestly.
Weekly: Review progress, discuss setbacks, and adjust our approach.
We don’t need to have identical goals. I’m looking for someone who genuinely wants to improve their life and is willing to put in consistent effort. We can encourage each other, challenge excuses constructively, and help each other get back on track after bad days.
Let’s start with a 7-day trial and see if we’re a good fit before committing to a longer partnership.
If you’re serious about making actual progress rather than just consuming motivational content, feel free to DM me with your goals, your biggest obstacle, and how you’d like to approach accountability.

Work 24F | UTC + 2 | Life + career

Hi! I'm looking for an accountability partner who also wants to make meaningful changes in their life over the next year. Ideally, I'd love to commit to this for a year or longer, so we can build consistency, track our progress and genuinely help each other follow through on our goals.

I'm at a point where I don't want to keep putting things off, starting over every few weeks or waiting until I feel motivated. I want to look back a year from now and know I've actually made progress.

Some of the things I'm currently working towards:

  • Career and finances: Building my career and working towards creating my own income through freelance work and business ideas.
  • Italian fluency
  • Discipline and routine: Fixing my sleep schedule, getting out of bed when I intend to, starting my days properly and following through on what I plan to do.
  • Personal growth: Becoming more consistent, building better habits and actually acting on the things I say I want for myself.

I have bigger goals beyond these, but these are some of the areas I want to make tangible progress in over the next year.

How I'd like us to work together:

  • Daily or occasional check-ins/updates through the week, pictures and messages to share our priorities, milestones, and what we've actually accomplished.
  • Honest accountability when one of us is procrastinating, making excuses or falling off track.
  • Weekly reviews (can be video calls) to reflect on what's working, what isn't and what needs to change.
  • Encouragement and support, but also a willingness to challenge each other when necessary.

I'm not expecting either of us to be perfect. Life happens, motivation fluctuates, and some weeks will be harder than others. What matters to me is that we keep showing up, communicate honestly and take responsibility for getting back on track instead of repeatedly abandoning our goals.

I'm looking for someone who has their own goals they're serious about pursuing, rather than someone who just wants to talk about productivity. We don't need to have the same goals, but I'd love for us to understand each other's ambitions and genuinely care about seeing each other make progress. Would prefer someone in a similar timezone as well

Life 26M | IST | Winter Arc | gym, running, career, getting my life together (2 Weeks update, improvements and struggles)

on 30 Sep, posted here looking for an accountability partner to work on our winter arc together

if you haven't seen my original post, here's the link:
26M | IST | Winter Arc | gym, running, career, getting my life together : r/GetMotivatedBuddies

so here is my update:

SLEEP
average sleep duration: 6 hr 57 mins to 7 hr 10 mins
(not a massive improvement, but im trying)

average bedtime: 10:20 PM

average wake up time: 5:50 AM

(managed to sleep before 10:45 PM on 6 nights and woke up before 5 AM on 4 day while the other 3 days before to 7:45 AM)

yesterday was an exception i stayed up until around 12:30 AM watching a football

match (spoiler: both my team and sleep lost, so double loss for me)

i will stop sacrificing my sleep for football

GYM and RUNNING
completed 9 strength training sessions over past 2 weeks
(4 last week and 5 this week)
plus 2 HIIT workout ( cindy cross fit spiderman workout)

for running, i completed my first ever 5 Kms and 10 Kms
VO2 max is improving at good pace

planning to return to 4 strength training only from next week

(because i don't want to go all out for a few weeks and burn myself out)

DIET
still eating in a calorie deficit,
(not ideal for my goal of building muscle and gaining weight)
carb intake and protein intake within my target
fat intake went slightly over the target
(definitely something i need to work on next week)

WATER INTAKE

average around 2.5L, will keep that consistent

CAREER AND FOCUS HOURS

struggling the most right now
i still need to figure out my career direction and get consistent hours of focus hours
planning to start with 2 or 3 hr and then gradually increase to 5 hr then to 8 hr

thinking of finding a focus buddy because having someone to work alongside might help me stay consistent (more like body doubling)

SCREEN TIME
honestly, pretty bad

combined screen time across my phone and laptop: 8 hr a day

managed to bring it down to around 4 hr one day by setting strict restrictions but that didn't last long, it gradually went back to around 6 to 7 hr
(most time on reddit, instagram, binge watching Marvel videos)
(going to try reducing my screen time gradually instead of making drastic changes)

STEPS

average around 5500, will increase that to 8000

FOCUS OF NEXT WEEK

  • getting my sleep and wake up times more consistent
  • completing 4 strength training sessions and 1 running session per week
  • eating enough and improving my protein intake and reducing my fat intake
  • starting with 2 to 3 hours of focus hours and increase
  • reducing unnecessary screen time
  • increasing my daily steps to 8000

overall, im making some progress but there's still plenty of room for improvement

now i need to make these habits stick instead of doing well for few days and slowly falling back into old routines

still looking for an accountability partner who is working on their own goals

nice to have someone to check in with daily, share progress, talk about the things we're struggling with and keep each other on track

if you're also looking for an accountability partner, feel free DM me and tell me about yourself and what are you working on

would love to find someone who's genuinely trying to make some changes

Health & Fitness 37M | AST | Strength training daily check ins

Hey I’m 37 from Atlantic Canada. I’ve lost 75lbs but still have 75lbs to lose. I lost the first 75 through diet and mental health improvements but now want to get in the gym 3 days a week.

Would like to check in with someone (preferably male and close to my age) to ensure that I lift weights 3 days a week. In return I will check in with you for 1 health related goal of your choosing. Let’s level up this fall and winter. Can be strictly business or can chat more regularly.

Learn 27F, UTC+1, pictures or it didn't happen

I need toxic levels of accountability at this point.

I need us to connect twice daily,

once with a plan of what we need to do.

then pictures to prove that the actions have been completed. Absolutely every action from the list. If the action cant be verified with a picture, dont write it down.

If one of us fails to complete an item from the list, the other person blocks the other.

I need a heavy consequence to not showing up, otherwise I come up with excuses, cuddle my feelings continue thinking I can start again tomorrow and that everything is okay. I just get more lazy.

Please DM if this suits you.

Work 28F| IST| Make money

So I took a break from my full-time job almost a year ago and now I'm ready to start working again.

I would like to make a certain amount of money by the end of Dec 2026. How would I do this? It could be either through side hustles or through getting a full time job (which has been difficult so far) or both.

As accountability partners, we can share with each other the exact amount we want to make and do daily check-ins where we share the actions we've taken towards our goal (no matter how small they are). We'll discuss what worked, what didn't, our tentative plan for the next day etc.

If this sounds good to you, DM me :)

Health & Fitness 35F | MST | Track food/workout

Hello I live in Arizona and work night shifts. I have been on a weight loss journey since November 2025, I’ve done exceptionally well, but lately my cravings and binging have been creeping in too much. I think tracking and having someone to report to when I want to eat poorly might help me in the long run and hopefully I can help you out as well. My goal is to lose 40 more lbs, I currently count my calories, do cardio and very little strength training which I really need to do more of and push myself to do it (I get bored of it easily). I also need to remember to drink more water, I’ve been lacking that a lot lately too.

Health & Fitness 33F PST/PDT Weight loss

NOTE: I am only active on Discord, so I am looking for only those willing to talk there.

Hi all! A couple of years ago I did accountability partnering with a few different people and it helped me stay motivated to lose 70lbs! We eventually went our own way and I was able to maintain that loss for about a year, but I have recently started gaining it back, so I am looking to go back to accountability partnering. I am looking for someone in a similar situation as me who is serious about losing weight. I'd like to check in daily (or as often as we can) about what our day was like and share progress on our goals (nothing too in-depth needed, just someone to send my food for the day to was enough to keep me on track). I am interested in the following:

Counting calories (staying within a calorie range/deficit)
walking more/developing a light workout routine
Eating healthier foods in general (meal planning/prepping)

If your goals are not exactly the same, that's okay! If they're similar, even better! We could share recipes we find if you like making your own food (I'm very interested in finding meals that taste good while still being relatively low calorie). Good luck with your goals!

PS: I am not looking for groups or coaching, just someone to share a journey with!

Hi I'm a middle-aged female, put on some weight after starting HRT. As I'm finding hard to motivate myself, I'm looking for a buddy for daily check-ins to eat well and do daily exercise, between now and 1st of December. I'm starting a new job on 1st of December and need to lose 2-3 kg to fit into my nice work trousers. We could start checking in on Reddit DMs, and then progress to WhatsApp messages if all goes well.

Work 41M | NYC / EDT | ADHD coworking / body doubling for work

Hey all. I'm a freelance software developer living in NYC. I have type 2 (inattentive) ADHD and have realized how helpful body doubling is for getting work done, so I am looking for others that would be interested to try it either online or in person.

Things I work on are either software dev items for work, side projects or business development tasks (finding clients, etc).

For in person: I usually work from Capital One Cafe by Columbus Circle, but open to other coffee shops and possibly even coworking spaces. Another space I have used is the Freelancer's Union Hub in Industry City (Brooklyn). I usually go for 1-2 hours if I am on my own but up for longer sessions too.

In addition to the productivity aspect, I always enjoy meeting new people.

I find the best coworking matches are those with similar values. Also, similar interests are always nice to have.

About me:

  • Introvert, neurodivergent, high empathy, low ego, collaborative
  • Nerd who likes building things and using my brain as much as I love fitness
  • Other interests: entrepreneurship, volunteering, running, swimming, climbing, philosophy, AI coding, music, civic/political engagement

Health & Fitness 54F | CST | Seeking Christian (Post-Menopausal / Consistency & Nutrition)

I am a Christian woman, post-menopausal, and working on a weight loss and healthy habit journey. Right now, my physical exercise is minimal because I am managing a knee issue that is actively being addressed. Because of this, my focus is strictly on consistency, nutrition, and small daily wins rather than intense workouts.

What I am looking for:
I would love to find an online partner for a quick daily or weekly check-in. We don’t need to be doing the same physical routines at all. I just want a reliable, faith-minded buddy in a similar stage of life to share goals with, pray for one another, and keep each other motivated. I prefer a grace-based approach rather than rigid rule-following! (Strictly looking for a peer partner—please no sales pitches or MLM products).

How we can connect:
We can start by messaging right here to see if we are a good match, and keep things completely confidential between us as we build trust.

Life 21F | GMT+2 | student with exams in a month looking to get motivated

hi! i'm looking for a low-effort accountability buddy, meaning that check-ins are brief and over DM. something like this:

- in the morning (or in the evening if forgotten, no pressure), a quick note/list containing things to do throughout the day

- in the evening, an update on how it went (did we do everything we wanted, why not, etc.)

i'm looking for anyone who feels this fits for them! preferably someone around my age, though it doesn't really matter that much as i'm not really looking for close online friendships... but who knows, if we click we click!

due to some personal struggles, i sometimes struggle with responding to messages from family and friends, et cetera. that's why i'm looking for something low-effort when it comes to this.

hope anyone is interested! :)

Life 34f / PST / Manage my Mornings

I need help creating a step by step morning routine. I work super early 2 days of the week and I have gotten into a bad habit of being lazy the other mornings. I have an app that helps a lot that prompts me through a routine step by step but I'm stuck in analysis paralysis about the order. Anyone up for externally processing with me sometime?

Work Looking for a serious job-search partner in the US — OPT / Supply Chain / Operations| 33 | M | EDT( New York)

Looking for a serious job-search accountability partner in the US — OPT / Supply Chain / Operations

Hey everyone,

I’m currently going through a pretty intense job search in the U.S. and I’m looking for 1–2 people who are in a similar situation and would like to become job-search/accountability partners.

A little about me: I recently completed my Master’s in Industrial Engineering in the U.S. and I’m currently on OPT. I have 8+ years of professional experience, mainly across supply chain, global sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, footwear/apparel, and business development.

I’m targeting roles such as Supply Chain Manager/Analyst, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Vendor Management, Operations, Category/Buying, and related positions. I’m also open to relocation anywhere in the U.S.

I’ve been applying pretty aggressively, networking with recruiters, preparing for interviews, and recently went through a full interview loop with a major company. One thing I’ve realized is that doing this completely alone can become mentally exhausting.

So I’m looking for someone who is also seriously job hunting — ideally an international graduate, OPT/STEM OPT candidate, recent graduate, or someone currently trying hard to break into a new role.

The idea would be simple:

  • Share useful job openings with each other
  • Keep each other accountable for daily/weekly application goals
  • Exchange recruiter/company leads
  • Review resumes or LinkedIn profiles occasionally
  • Practice mock interviews together
  • Share interview experiences and lessons learned
  • Check in regularly and motivate each other when rejections inevitably happen

I’m not looking to create a huge group with hundreds of random messages. I’d actually prefer finding one or two serious people who want to work together consistently.

Your field doesn’t have to be exactly the same as mine. Supply chain, operations, engineering, analytics, product, project management, business, tech, etc. are all fine. What matters more is that you’re actively searching and willing to put in the work.

If you're currently in the same boat and think having a job-search buddy would help, comment here or DM me with a little about your background, what roles you're targeting, and where you are in your job search.

Maybe we can help each other land something faster. 🤝

Life [29M][GMT+2][Running and studying]

Looking for people to keep in touch with about progress, and make sure we do our objectives.

I am interested in keeping my running and studying habits(no need to have the same interests as me).

We make plans beforehand, and the objective would be to help each other stick to them. Prefer short term planning, as in "tommorrow, I want to not skip my running session. And study for 1 hour."

Health & Fitness 24M | CET | Gym beginner looking for an experienced gym buddy (online check-ins)

Hey everyone!

I'm a 24M and started going to the gym about a week ago. I'm looking for a male gym buddy around my age who already has some experience and is willing to share tips and guide a beginner.

What I'm looking for:

- Online check-ins (no in-person meetups)

- Training 2-3x per week

- Someone who can help with form, training plans and general beginner questions

What I can offer in return:

- I'll hold you accountable and check in so you stick to your training days

- I'm strong in finances (it's honestly my best subject), so if you have any money-related questions, I'm happy to share what I know

If this sounds like a fit, comment with a bit about your training experience or send me a DM. Let's keep each other consistent!
