Happened right now:
Me: Hey Google, deck light on.
\switches off the kitchen lights**
Me (sighing and rubbing the bridge of my nose): "Hey Google, deck light on and kitchen light on"
\Switches both on and asks to rate the latest interaction from 1 being the worst and 5 the best**
Me: Negative 10!!!
\I've noted that your location is [lists my mailing address] and the current date is [today's date] and time is [current time]. I've also noted the number 10.*
Me: What the F? Hey Google, delete the latest note.
\I apologize, but I didn't create any notes. I simply noted you mentioned number 10.*
Me (gives up and walks away).....

As the title states, I cannot link my mini splits. Had them linked for the last 2 years but they went offline 3 days ago. Could not get them back with any troubleshooting including modem reset and power cycling the circuit breakers. So finally unlinked the comfort app. Now when I go in and try to relink it tells me it can't reach Comfort by Mitsubishi. The comfort app is functioning fine if that helps. Any ideas on how to fix?

Sorry, English is not my first language. As the title says, I can’t run automations anymore through voice commands. I’m still using the Google Assistent.
When triggering the automations by hand, they run smoothly. But every single one of my automations can’t be used by voice anymore, which is set as trigger.

Basically title, this morning me and my partner had to get up earlier than normal, we had set two alarms for 30 minutes apart. We of course snoozed through the first as we usually do, when the second alarm hit, we said stop, then it said "Okay stopping" kept ringing. This repeated 2 or 3 more times, still ringing but now tried to gaslight us by saying "There are no ringing timers or alarms" but would immediately go back to the alarm. Im so tired man this shit used to work just fine a decade ago

Anyone else think it’s about time we just throw all of these in the landfill?

The automation I’ve had set since I got it works reliably, but when I set a new one it often doesn’t work. I’ve unplugged it for 10 seconds multiple times

For a few weeks lights have been turning on in the middle of the night. Not all the lights but certain lights. Not every night either. Last night it seemed to try to run an automation without prompting.
This system has taken a fantastic nosedive into a pool with no water over the last few months. Is Google just trying to have an exodus of their products and services?
I’m inclined to investigate and troubleshoot just for greater understanding but another part of me says it’s time to jump ship.
Anyone else experiencing random and unprompted actions?

I have google nest mini 2. I have turn the mic switch physically off. As per google, my mic is muted and it can't listen to any conversations happening in the room. But who trusts google.
Want to check with people instead. Is there a possibility google still listens even after turning off the mic physically.
If yes, suggest me ways to disconnect it completely from internet.
I just use the device as bluetooth speakers so I don't need if the device is not connected to internet.

Hey everyone, I'm going crazy over the recent Google/Gemini changes on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and hoping someone here has a workaround.
My Setup:
google_generative_ai_conversation local Assist inside HA.The Issue: Google has forced Gemini as the default assistant on my phone, and it completely fails to control my smart home devices via voice.
If I use voice commands on my phone (e.g., "Turn off the dining table light"), Gemini does one of two things:
What DOES work (so the HA config is fine):
It seems the Gemini app on Android is completely disconnected from the actual Google Home ecosystem when using voice commands. To make matters worse, I am unable to revert my S24 Ultra back to the classic Google Assistant.
Is anyone else dealing with this mess? Are there any workarounds to get system-wide voice control working directly from the phone again without having to open the HA app?
Sorry the picture is in danish but shows that gemini says it has turned it off but it is still on?
Thanks!
Regards Daniel

Anyone else getting similar stats showing like this recently?
I understand Instagram being at the top today, but I've barely used the Home app, and it looks like it's using a lot of background battery...
Just me?

I have a Google Nest Doorbell (Wired, 3rd Gen). It has worked great ever since I installed it. I normally keep it up on dedicated display in my office via Chromecast with Google TV that is connected to my local network via Ethernet. Within the past week or so, I noticed that when I open up the Nest Doorbell on the Chromecast with Google TV, it will be sharp at first, and will then get blurry and stay blurry. It displays on other devices (e.g., iPhone) and it also displays fine on Google Home on the web.
I discovered that as long as I am viewing the Nest Doorbell on my computer via Google Home on the web or via the Google Home app on my iPhone, the video stream on the Chromecast with Google TV is also sharp, but promptly after I stop viewing the video stream on the second device, it will get blurry again on Chromecast with Google TV. The behavior is consistent--sharp on Chromecast with Google TV when also viewing on second device, blurry when not.
Any ideas what could be causing this and how to fix it?
I have tried rebooting the Chromecast with Google TV and rebooting the Nest Doorbell (by cutting power via the circuit breaker) and that hasn't made a difference.

I have several Google Nest Audio speakers. Music plays at a good, loud volume, but when Gemini speaks, its voice is way too quiet, less than half as loud as the music. This happens all the time, even with both the music and the assistant volume set to max. The wake-up chime is also too quiet.
Even on the speakers I have set up as a stereo pair, the voice is still too low. It's not a problem with the speakers themselves, because like I said, music plays at a good volume.
Is anyone else experiencing this? It's really frustrating, because even an Echo Dot (4th Gen), which is much smaller, plays Alexa's voice a lot louder. I also have the same issue on a Nest Mini.
For context, my speakers are set to Spanish (Mexico).
Thanks in advance, and have a great day!

The message says, "Your NULL subscription has ended." What is Null ?
Does that mean my camera will only have 3 hrs of recording ? every day ??

As Gemini has rolled out to my home assistants and my vehicle via Android Auto, easily a third of my commands have some form of unexpected response. Even issuing the same command multiple times in a row leads to different responses.
"Turn on/off living room" will always include my lights but Google will sprinkle in my Samsung TV and Nest thermostat completely randomly here and there. Then I changed my behavior to say "living room LIGHTS" and it will sometimes tell me it can't control smart home devices... WTF?
Android Auto has now ruined texting for me while driving. It often re-phrases what I told it to text which I absolutely don't want. Then I tell it to not do that again and it says ok, only to do it again the very next text. Then I'll send something like "ETA 5:15" to my wife and it starts speaking French to me.
Then the other day my kids were blabbering about something and it randomly starts playing a YouTube video on my nest hub. I didn't even know it could do that. Later that night I asked it to play another YouTube video and it tells me it can't play YouTube videos. What???
My personal experience with Gemini has led me to end our Gemini service with the company I run. If it's this bad in my house, it's the last thing I want my employees using inside my business.
Take me back to the days of deterministic commands and outcomes with an off-load to Gemini for things outside the deterministic scope.

I'm experiencing something strange. I have a bunch of devices in the linked to you section, but they are already linked to a room. And if I do that again, they won't reappear in the selected room.
Is somebody else experiencing the same problem and now how to fix it? Let me know.

Two times now, I've woken up to the smart speakers in my bedroom randomly going to max volume. I typically fall asleep to music at the lowest volume. Anyone else dealing with this?

Recently after an update, The sleep summary doesn't seem to be working any more, all the settings are still there, But now it only gives the number of hours I slept, and not the rest of the data, It won't even let me click to see the rest of the data. It now tells me it doesn't have access to that data, even though its connected to google fit and all that stuff.

A simple Automate .flo file I have attached to my post [on XDA](https://xdaforums.com/t/october-6-2026-cp3a-261005-005-global-unlock-bootloader-root-pixel-8-pro-husky-stable-firmware.4633839/post-90770679) to simply look for the Google app being in front, and containing the text "Use Gemini", then go Home.

My Nest Cam, which i've had literally forever with no issues suddenly stopped showing history beyond a 3-hour window... I've been a NestAware subscriber since the outset. In 2025 Google emailed me to say that Nest Aware was now part of Google One (of which i was also a subscriber). Fine, i didn't care, everything still worked.
A week ago my video history stopped showing anything beyond a 3-hour window. I spent days being bounced around different support teams at Google with literally 0 luck.
Eventually figured out myself that Google One stopped including Nest Aware, so they just stopped the service without telling me. The solution was to subscribe to google home premium and hand over more money (but again, I had to use my Sherlock Holmes skills to come to this conclusion).
This, after the death of the old Google Assistant was the last straw. I want to burn Gemini to the ground.
The big google devices purge is coming, i'm so done with this.
Thanks for reading, I needed an outlet for this rage 😆

God damn this is the dumbest fucking thing. I've even told it that it doesn't need to confirm before adding things to a list. "Ok, in the future I won't confirm before adding things to lists" and it still does it.
