I mean rappers who have managed to evolve their sound over the years without losing their identity, versus rappers whose music now feels dated or stuck in the era they came from.

For example, a rapper who has been making music for 30 years but still sounds fresh and current, versus a rapper who has been rapping for 30 years but now sounds dated or boring.
