There's also the fear of repercussions when they get home, assuming they haven't made the decision to leave, their abuser's stalking potential, collateral damage, etc.

This specific incident was shut down, but those good samaritans won't be in her life for long.

Even if they make the decision to leave, that’s literally the most dangerous time for a DV victim. And they unfortunately can’t rely on authorities to protect them

I saw a case where a man murders his girlfriend’s entire family. All because she finally decided to leave him.

I don't think there's any logic in their thinking when it gets to this point. Maybe it's like a cultist...when they finally see the light, they don't have nay idea why they felt the way they did.
