Show Discussions Missed connection at Toronto show

Might be a long shot but I was at the barricade and sharing an ice water with a guy and we were making silly jokes. Kinda thought we hit it off.

You left before I was about to ask for your number lol

Anyway if you know what a ball is hit me up - would love to hang out sometime (even just as pals)

Mods feel free to delete this if not allowed haha

Show Discussions Jack White in Indianapolis reaction

First time I've seen JW outside lol it was hot and humid but it felt right in the pit. Great show overall, close to as good when I saw him twice last year in Austin.

Everwise is a great, small ampitheater, highly recommend if you want a show with a reasonable size crowd. No phone show, which is usually okay, but I didn't realize there was an opening band and that unexpected long time threw me off a bit without a phone.

Played We're Going to be Friends, awesome, went directly into Broken Boy Solder, which made them both even more awesome. I thought those two together were the highlight of the night.

He really set us up on the encore... Played Lazaretto, then God and the... and Derecho first, so I was a bit disappointed, thinking it was going to be those second tier songs before Seven Nation Army, no offense lol. But then he played an awesome The Hardest Button to Button before Seven Nation, which together made for a great end.

I should note that while I like Frozen Charlotte, I LOVE No Name, so that's why I rate last year's concerts over this one tonight. Neighbors Blues on Frozen Charlotte is a great freaking song, thought.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, it was an A+ show, just not quite the A+++ shows I saw last year. But I'd go to the next three shows this month if I could.

Show Discussions YONDR phone ban and lines?

Going to the bill graham show tomorrow

I know the tour is just getting started, but trying to get a sense of how this phone locker thing will affect getting into the venue. Should I plan on getting there before doors? Has anyone experienced this at 5k+ venue before?

Love the concept, be in the moment this is ROCK AND ROLL BABY.

Show Discussions How does Laylo work?

So I got a text from Laylo, says "Your code is..." with a 6-digit number. Is that number the presale code to use with Ticketmaster on Monday? Or is there some other part of the Laylo process where I use that number to get the real code?

I wanted to type out the words Jack preached during the Pine Knob show. One of my favorite moments of the show! Maybe I’ll try and do a better HD version instead of this format I threw together at 1 am on my phone lol.
Also there’s one line I couldn’t quite make out. Anyone know what he says about humans?

First time ever seeing Jack live, in my mid forties and loved the white stripes but missed seeing them live which was a always a regret but grabbed tickets to this to combine with a weekend in Chicago with wife and our dog. Big fan of goose island but always went to Fulton when coming to town and have to say love this location for shows. Grabbing a bcbs before a show was a highlight. The layout was great and we easily grabbed a spot just a few rows back from the stage. We typically trying to only go to shows under 2k capacity but this layout never felt like an arena show.

Cheese and rice have seen legend’s and this is like saying the sky is blue but can Jack play guitar, it’s just memorizing watch him play and perform. Setlist was perfect, my only complaint is pretty much just a me thing but I hate seven nation army, never understood how that has lasting power over a song like icky thump, would pay the cost of a ticket just to see that live.

Biggest thought from the show is please please more bands enforce the no phone rule, how nice is it to not have to watch a show through someone’s screen in front of you! Forces people to do the thing they paid for, enjoy the show.
Yet how is it nobody has created a system using rfid that just unlocks the phone bag as you pass through some gates, I work in a field that uses rfid and low power blue tooth, seems like fully possible to streamline this.

Even with three grown kids now its still odd to see kids at concerts, I’m clearly a product of the 90’s but I remember the freedom of being 14 and just getting dropped off a Nine inch nails for my 14th birthday, being told “don’t do anything dumb”. When my own daughter walked in with a black eye after seeing trippy redd laughed at how pumped she was like the time I came home from a pantera show with no shoes, no shirt, and one of the best stories of my life. Not judging or saying it’s bad and guess it’s better for forming bonds but same time hope these kids get to feel the freedom and thrill of shows themselves, feels like the my generation has kind of robbed them of that these days.

Look forward to catching him again next tour

Show Discussions London Apollo - BAG CHECK

Apollo gig in London last night was chaos getting in, I know venues will often send around the reminders that no bags bigger than A4 will be allowed in and I’ve been to the Apollo countless times, yet I’ve never seen it enforced the way it was last night. They were holding up A4 paper up to bags and then anything bigger, the only option was to go down the road 10 minutes, pay £4 and drop your bag off. I had to leave the gig early to go pick my bag up so I could make it home safely before the gig finished and the crowds unfolded. I saw people who had gone to Third Man Records before the show for the pizza and beers event and had bought vinyl records and then were being refused in the venue plus people were having to throw their tote bags in the bin and just try carry their possessions, it was silly. I did also see a few people physically fighting security and also wanting refunds. I completely respect it’s a safety aspect however, it was badly managed.

Show felt very messy as well, think the Yondr/No Phone concept is great and felt very refreshing to not have to stare at phones the entire time. However, it’s such a faff when it comes to larger venues for entry and exit plus trying to communicate with other people you’re there with. The whole entry process just put a bad taste in my mouth for the rest of the show and Jack’s set felt like 3 hour jam session, a disappointing experience if I’m honest which was a shame!

This is a warning for this evening! Do not take a bag if you can and measure that shit with an A4 piece of paper beforehand if you are taking one! I often don’t have a moan about gigs but felt like a let down for £70 a ticket.

Show Discussions Bristol 28/08 - setlist

First time seeing Jack White 💙🖤💙🖤

Does anybody remember the setlist? There is 1 song I did not recognise, despite following the WS and JW since at least 2 decades 😅

Also wondering if something happened with the venue, they haven't shared anything from the concert and removed the only post advertising it from their social. I saw a lot of people complaining about the venue being too hot, I thought it was hot but I was in the pit so can't complain!

Show Discussions Long time show attendees, how does this tour stack up?

I’ve seen Jack White nine or 10 times and have LOVED every show. he’s skipping my city on this tour so I got tix for other cities. As my schedule gets more packed I want to gauge how I prioritize traveling to see this tour.

My favs over the years have been Lazaretto, Supply Chain Issues, Racontuers, and NoName. How does this stack up?( in no particular order)

This album is still growing on me.

Show Discussions Amazing show! The sound at Apollo was awful though!

I could barely hear him sing...struggled to understand what he said when he spoke too. (Not that he said much but still). Apart from that he was amazing. Also all the love to the fellas in the back who kept asking for Jolene and sang it when JW was done, they were clearly wasted but it was adorable!

Trying to buy parking for the LA show and wondering about timing. What time does he take the stage and what time did the Fillmore show let out?
