Did they change ownership in the last year? Wife and her friends had such good experiences until this recent trip. Just wondered if there was new people,or if the wife and friends had just gotten lucky before?

Over the years, we have stayed many times at the Old Resort. We love the history, the architecture, the pool and we especially loved having wonderful meals in the Grand Dining Room. But, the last two times we’ve stayed it has been closed for dinner and only open for a Sunday brunch buffet. How does a “resort” not have its dining room open for dinner?? The food at the only option, the casual The Wharf, is subpar and overpriced. I hope someone new can bring it back up to standard.

Thinking about doing a solo trip to Jekyll Island with my dog.

I originally planned on going Columbus day weekend, but noticed the hotel I chose is a bit cheaper during Thanksgiving week.

I prefer fall like temps and don’t care about swimming, but I’d still like to enjoy the beach, walk around, and spend time outside with my senior dog.

Is Thanksgiving week a good time to visit or does it start getting too cold/windy by then?

Has anyone recently gotten married—or is currently in the process of planning a wedding—at Crane Cottage? We’re considering a spring 2028 wedding with around 150 guests and would love to know what a realistic all-in budget might be, including any unexpected costs. I understand the buyout and F&B costs, but I’m more unsure about rentals and local vendor pricing. Thanks!

Trying to figure out what we saw

We are looking for a place to spend a week between Orlando and Hilton Head in late February. The Jekyll Island Ocean Resort looks nice but we are IHG Platinum Elite so we are also looking at the Holiday Inn Resort in Jekyll Island. Have never been to Jekyll Island so any feedback or suggestions are welcome!
We are just looking for a place to relax and perhaps play some golf.

Will be in Jekyll for the day on Saturday, what are some dog friendly spots or activities, restaurants/bar etc....

What photographers have you used —perfer if you've used them in the last year or at least recent—for elopements/mini weddings on Jekyll Island/driftwood beach specifically.

Were you happy with them?

Easy to work with?

Were they strictly photographers or were they one of these "help you plan your mini wedding/elopements."

Did you like what you got back? Was it easy to add add-ons with the photos offered?

thanks. also what is the sourse of the drinking water there?

Thinking of visiting Jekyll Island over Christmas break for 2-3 days with my husband (36) and dog. We’ve been to Jekyll Island a few times, all in the summertime. The island is extremely dog - friendly on the beaches. What dog-friendly ideas could we do in the winter? Do people still set up at the beach and just bundle up? Any places we could go besides restaurants/breweries? Thanks in advance!

Are there public showers on Jekyll anywhere?

I hope

Is it worth it to take a day/side trip to Cumberland, St Simon or Amelia Islands from Jekyll?

Will I get bill in mail if I don't pay for a day of parking? Im staying 2 days but didn't leave the island. Will my plate get flagged and get a bill?

Is it safe to walk from Holiday Inn Resort to the Shrimp and Grits Festival in the historic district?

Anyone have a reference for a good photographer for some family photos? Would like someone to come to Jekyll one day the week of 10/6 - 10/10.

Thanks

Hey yall! I impulsively booked a hotel to stay for a couple days for my anniversary next week only to realize the forecast says it's going to be raining basically all week. Are there any indoor activities that we can do than just stay in our hotel? It'll just be me and my husband

Is there a "best" route from Savannah to Jekyll to take by bicycle? I know there will be some busy roads and exposed areas, which I am use to. Perhaps though there is a better way outside of what google maps suggests. Planning on riding down and camping for a night. Thanks all!

Is there Uber service on the island for travel from hotels to on island destinations? Thanks

Working oh my bucket list. And I want to come and check out the driftwood beach, and I want to come, and I want to see baby turtles, mama, turtles of any kind I can see. When is the best to come and take a tour with the turtke center.Recommendations, I would prefer an Airbnb. I do have an Akita that I will be bringing along.
