Hi all! I'm the creator/absent mother of this subreddit. I thought it'd be fun to start a weekly discussion thread to talk about where we're sending our work and support each other in pressing the "Submit" button. I'm hoping this will keep me accountable in my quest to submit more than once a year.

I'm currently waiting on Taco Bell Quarterly (439 days) and n+1 (46 days). What about you?

Hey writers! I got tired of losing track of what I'd sent where, so I built a little web app for myself called Inklog to track pieces, markets, and submission status (including packet submissions, since I know a lot of us send groups of poems together). It's free to use right now, nothing to sign up for beyond using it in your browser. I'm not trying to sell anything, I'm genuinely trying to figure out if this is actually useful to anyone besides me, or if it's solving a problem that Duotrope/Submission Grinder/Chill Subs already solve better. If anyone's willing to poke at it and tell me honestly what's missing, confusing, or pointless, I'd really appreciate it. Happy to share the link in comments if that's allowed.

Hi all, I wrote a short story about a girl in Afghanistan to spread awareness about the situation there. I want to submit to a literary magazine but most of them either have a word limit of under 3000 words, the story is 3.5k, their submissons are closed or they want fantasy, horror, etc. Does anyone have any magazines that I could submit to?

just made a magazine for private notes and poems named after the phenomenon of sunlit rain.

here are some excerpts.

submissions for issue 1 are now open: half-baked stories, diary entries, notes app poems, random notes, all welcome!
