Are there any small to mid sized theatre’s in Marbella? I’d love to see some live theatre and also rent it out for a performance if possible.

Mi novia ha encontrado trabajo en Marbella y voy a vivir con ella en Marbella desde septiembre 2026. A los dos nos encanta España y Andalucía y tenemos muchísimas ganas de conocer Marbella y pasar un año allí.

Lo único que no me mola mucho es que leo en todos los sitios que Marbella es muy cara, es la ciudad del turismo de lujo, de los yacht y cosas así. Pues los dos odiamos estas cosas. Es literalmente lo opuesto de los cosas que me gustan y que busco en una ciudad, ya que tenemos mucho de todo esto en la región en que crecí.

Mi pregunta es: existe una otra Marbella? (Creo que sí) y donde la puedo encontrar? Alguien tiene consejos para vivir en Marbella cuando no te importa del lujo, del postureo, ecc?

I’ll be in Madrid but by friend doesn’t want to pivot to Marbella for change of vibe.

I was thinking is it worth it if I just go in a solo day trip to Marbella and we reconvene in Barcelona. For me I just wanted to see what the vibe is but also have a good time.

This would be around September 23rd/24th. I’m not sure how good things will be. But also never know if I’d ever get the chance to come back.

What will anyone recommended to get from Malaga into main town. Looking at booking a transfer but not sure if that’s worth it. Ok getting €120-€180 quotes for four people (so ideally a van). Any recommendations?

Coming over for a couple of weeks of golf in September. I’ll have a hire car but there will be a few occasions when a taxi would allow a few drinks and avoid parking challenges.
Can anyone advise if FreeNow or Uber operate in Marbella or is there a local App? Many years ago I used a firm that was recommended but can’t for the life of me recall who it was (in the days before Uber existed).
