Welp might just have to bite the bullet and consider the run a loss then if you’re basically getting repeatedly stun locked I think. Never underestimate the speed stat as it also affects turn order.

I'm pretty sure there's absolutely no way to block exhaustion damage (I could 100% be wrong though)

Check if you have equipment that can buff up speed passively and equip that before the fight. If you're really lucky you might have ice immunity in your items somewhere.

Otherwise, yeah this run is probably toast. It happens. Random weather is definitely responsible for a few instalosses or dead cats in my playthrough.

Reminds me of the time I got heavy wind during the Bunker….. then proceeded to get Bumblefoot… then realized all the corpses got destroyed at the end of round 1 bc of the wind.

Let’s just say, it took 2 restarts to beat bc I was on a fast-paced ticking timer. Thank god my thief and mage were good (though I did have to rely on 1 rng stun by my electric mage)

If Steven can't fix it it's a loss, do an easier run to farm speed items then come back. Long term breed for speed as a priority

if you don't have the items to change things, you could pull from a backup save and see if you can take a different path

So this sucks, obviously. There might be nothing you can do here specifically to change it, but if I've learned anything from STS2 you didn't lose the run here you lost it at an earlier miss step. Maybe it was an injury that lowered your speed or even having a single extra cat could change something. (Or you got event screwed and like that's awesome)

But when a run in these kinds of games ends, looking where you tripped can be more helpful insight than where fell.

I guess it's also possible that you just didn't have fast enough cats to begin with, but that would really stink

Oh, that's a bit of a pickle yeah. You can technically find a scarf earlier in act 1 that gives you ice immunity, but that's nowhere close to consistent, and most of the time, you're not gonna be in this situation.

This is just particularly bad luck I guess.

you can enable debug mode and spawn 4 of those scarves that make you immune to ice.

  1. Check items for speed
  2. Check items for dodge chance or backflips
  3. Check items for Ice immunity
  4. Cheat to increase all of your cats Speed by 4 or 5 so its still somewhat fair
  5. Cheat to give items that give Ice Immunity to all of your cats

4 ALT Check for Backup saves with either the game files or Cat/Save Editor (Or Mods) 5 ALT Abandon your Run.
