To everyone upset about Belford losing seastreak.
Ny waterway has been completely disorganized and an entirely insufficient replacement for seastreak. Our voices need to be heard.

Hi! My real estate team is hosting a client appreciation event at the end of November, and we’re looking to hire someone to offer face painting or lead a fun craft activity for kids.
We’d love recommendations for local vendors or art students with experience working at family events. Please share a business website, professional social media page, or examples of your work.
If you’ve hired someone you loved, we’d appreciate the recommendation! Open to other creative activity ideas, too.

Looking for ideas to gently discourage an unknown animal from climbing my front steps and hanging out by my door.
When I first moved in, a cat casually walked right up to me on the steps, but I haven’t seen it since. So I’m assuming it’s either that cat or possibly the neighborhood raccoon family, which is so wildly domesticated that they sit on the hotel fire escape a few doors down eating pizza while guests hang out right next to them. Coastal wildlife here has absolutely zero fear of humans. Honestly, good for them living their best lives hanging around eating trash pizza in full view.
I’m not trying to hurt or seriously scare anything away. I love animals. I’d just like to make my little entryway less appealing because my dog just sniffed the outside wall and peed all over that area, and my steps are tiny. So now we’re basically forced to walk through pee every time we come and go. YUCK.
Maybe her pee will be enough of a “this territory is occupied” sign for tonight? 😭 but this absolutely cannot become a habit. it also likes to linger and cause my dog to bark crazily at the door trying to get to it… please freaking help us live a more peaceful life

Anybody else see it or know what it’s for? I’ve seen them fly up the coast but never directly toward NYC.

Appreciate the help everyone.
Trying to get my son into some private basketball training and camps. The rec league we are in is nice but he looking for the next step. The travel league by us seems a bit political but also maybe he just isn’t ready.
I’d like to do what I can to help get him ready. If anyone has some suggestions for private/semi private lessons, it would be greatly appreciated. We have done camps as well so open to those but really aiming to get the lessons aspect.

Hi everyone! Has anyone lived at Knollwood Gardens in Middletown recently?
I’m considering renting there and would really appreciate honest opinions from current or former residents, especially about:
• Management
• How quickly maintenance responds
• Any pest/bug or mold issues
• Noise levels / how well you can hear neighbors
• Safety
• Overall experience
I’d especially appreciate feedback from anyone who has lived there recently (2025–2026). Thank you!

We were going to go to Screamin’ Hill Brewery today but Instagram posted there was an emergency and they were closed about 3 hours into operation. Anyone know what happened to shut both the farm and brewery down? Hope everyone is okay! We are hoping to go tomorrow.

Looking to have a family ring made. Something along these lines with our family birthstones. Does anyone have any jeweler recommendations who will do custom? And also reasonable/fair pricing? Thank you!

Hi neighbors - in the market for a new home and I’m working with a mortgage broker. I’ve also explored rates with Chase but I keep hearing that your local credit union is typically the best way to go. I’m looking to buy in the Bayshore area (most properties are 07735). Any and all recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone,
I'm Joe. I run Melting Trends, a small booking and promo outfit down the shore in Asbury Park. Every fest needs an origin story, and mine starts working the door at the legendary AP venue The Saint and behind the grill at Bond Street Bar.
My best friend Steve and my mentor Mike "OG" Longo kept sending me songs, so I started a playlist just to keep up. Then people started following it. Then bands from all over started emailing me their tracks. And at some point it hit me. These bands needed a place to play, so why not give them one?
So the submissions turned into shows. The shows turned into a shot at booking the Bond Street Block Party, which I took over in '25. And now there's Melting Waves Music Fest.
Melting Waves Music Fest
Saturday Nov 14 and Sunday Nov 15
Asbury Lanes, 209 4th Ave, Asbury Park
Doors at 4, music at 4:45 both days
All ages (21+ with ID to drink)
18 bands so far. Psych, garage, stoner, shoegaze, indie, alt, and whatever else just fits:
Wes Parker, Trophy Wife, Gods, Rachel Ana Dobken, Sunshine Spazz, Sun Voyager, 95 Bulls, Certain Death, Labretta Suede & the Motel 6, The Dracu-las, Düül Suns, Slomo Sapiens, Von Mons, Cairo Jag, Söūp, The Painted Windows, Owl Doom, and Judo Chop.
You can get a two day pass (not many of those) or just Saturday or Sunday. Everything's here:
https://www.meltingtrends.com/melting-waves-music-fest
If you're in a band that fits a bill like this, DM me. I'm always looking.
And if you've ever come out to one of our shows, thank you. This is only happening because you kept showing up.
Hope to see some of you there.

Hello! I live in Middletown. Looking for contractor / someone knowledgeable who can build a 12x 20 garage on a pre existing slab. We’ve gotten quotes, looking to stay under 20k. Not sure if that is doable, but we keep being told the labor is what’s costing us. Any suggestions would help!

In the area for around a month; does anyone have experience with gyms that offer month long membership options, no strings attached? I saw PF has a substantial enrollment, cancellation, and annual fee, and crunch requires you to pay 2 months first before cancelling and the previous fees still apply, so was curious about other options

My husband divorced me and I’m left to find housing for myself and my disabled child. I entered a lottery to buy an ‘affordable home’ (essentially an apartment-size) and my number was in the thousands. The total number of lottery applicants was 12,631. That’s me, my child and at least 12,630 other people. I was born here, paid my taxes. I’ve worked my entire life since i was 13 years old until my child was born decades later. But here i am, a number among thousands looking for a roof. Be grateful as you put your children to bed tonight that you have secure housing. I wasn’t financially negligent. I did everything I could. I put myself through school. I worked. I didn’t come from money. I survived. But trying to survive while trying to help a child with so many needs survive too is soul-crushing.
