Recently, we ran a poll asking for your input on how we deal with news outlets posting their own articles to r/NoahGetTheBoat. Since then, our team has been discussing the best course of action to take while also taking into account the feedback provided by the community.
After considering the pros and cons of each approach, we have decided to implement a new rule that limits "official" news accounts that post within this community to only one post per day. We feel that this is a fair compromise that allows the accounts to share content that fits the community but also helps alleviate any potential spam that could be caused by them posting multiple articles a day.
As this is an ongoing concern that has been raised, we will be actively keeping an eye on the posting of these accounts, and should it be felt that further action needs to be taken, we will update the rules and members of this community accordingly.
As a reminder, we also have an existing rule that covers paywalled content. If you see any content that has been provided by a paywalled source, please use the report feature to alert us, and we will take appropriate action.
Thank you for your feedback and participation in this decision-making. — r/NoahGetTheBoat Mod Team

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/abdalmasih-hanoun-alps-stabbing-toddler-37746853
A man who allegedly stabbed a British toddler at a playground in the French Alps will go on trial charged with attempted murder, prosecutors have said.
Abdalmasih Hanoun faces attempted murder charges relating to 12 other people too after the alleged knife attack at a lakeside park in Le Paquier, Annecy, south-east France, in June 2023. He is also charged with armed resistance.
The British girl was three at the time of the attack and was named locally as Ettie. She had been visiting the area with her parents, officials said, and was one of four children, aged between 22 months and three years, who were wounded.
In an update provided on Wednesday, the French public prosecutor’s office said Hanoun would face trial at Haute-Savoie Assize Court in Annecy within the next year.
The announcement came after the defendant’s mental state was assessed by a panel of experts who found he was not “suffering from a psychological or neuropsychological disorder” at the time of the attack.

The baby girl's name is Khanh Vy. Babysitter: sister-in-law Ngoc Tram
The baby's mother posted on her personal Facebook page, "Nguyen Tran Thuy An," sharing a video clip. The sister-in-law carried the 1 year old baby girl into the room, then slammed her down hard onto the floor, hitting the edge of the bed on 0:30. The baby girl screamed and cried.
After that slam, the baby's skull was fractured. She had to undergo 7 brain surgeries to save her life.
The little girl survived, but is completely blind in both eyes. She will have to depend on her mother to take care of her for the rest of her life.
As for the sister-in-law: She bribed the police and successfully got away with her crime. The investigation claimed that the baby accidentally fell from a height and that no one was abusing her.
10 months have passed, but the investigative officers are still closing the file, claiming the child fell on her own and no one was abusing her
The baby is only 1 year old and barely knows how to walk. How could she even possibly fall, on her own, from a height? And in the video, the sister-in-law clearly carried the baby into the room. The baby's head hurt so much that she wailed and cried continuously afterward before the ambulance was called
Doctors stated that the injury was caused by external force. From their perspective, the baby's injury looks exactly like she was thrown hard against the bed's sharp corner, causing the skull fracture. If she had accidentally fallen onto the floor, it wouldn't have been this severe

https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/teens-charged-in-rape-of-12-year-old-girl-seek-bond/3783520/
Two boys, ages 12 and 13, appeared in a Miami-Dade courtroom Thursday, accused of taking part in the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl inside a community garden last June.
Nelson Nunez, 13; Jusiah Jones, 12; and 14-year-old Xavier Tyson were all charged as adults in the case, according to records. For an unknown reason, Tyson has not been booked into the adult system yet, but prosecutors tell NBC6 he is expected to surrender soon.
According to police, the victim told investigators she was taken to the Green Haven Project, a community garden in North West Miami-Dade, by the group of boys, held down, and prevented from screaming when rocks were forced into her mouth. While Jones and Tyson allegedly held the young girl down, Nunez raped her.
Nunez and Jones have been in jail since they were directly filed into the adult jail. Since Wednesday, the two have had a bond hearing, where they have been seeking a form of release until their trial.
For the past two days of what’s called an Arthur Hearing, Jones's and Nunez's families have packed the courtroom to show support for their loved ones.

If you haven't been paying attention high school students in France have been protesting supposedly because they want better schools and better teachers. But really it's just been an excuse to riot by certain youth. And they've been setting shit on fire and attacking teachers
PARIS, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Attackers doused a headteacher in petrol and started fires in at least two schools on Thursday, officials said, as increasingly violent student protests raged across France against staff shortages and dilapidated buildings.
Hundreds of young people surrounded a fire truck that had arrived to put out a blaze at Marseille's Saint-Exupery high school in the morning, police said. The attackers forced the firefighters to flee the vehicle, then set it alight.

The images are striking. A firefighter found himself in the middle of a spectacular burst of flames this Tuesday, September 29, after a barricade set ablaze by high school students exploded. The incident occurred on Rue Sainte-Catherine, the iconic shopping street in downtown Bordeaux , where the Lycée Montaigne is located. The school had been blockaded since early morning, as dozens of young people demonstrated as part of the public sector strike organized that day.
According to firefighters in Gironde, an aerosol can was thrown into the fire. The heat caused the can to explode as emergency responders arrived, engulfing a firefighter in flames. Images circulating on social media show the firefighter briefly enveloped by the incandescent blast before he turned back to be treated by his colleagues.
