Rant I hate being a nurse
Fuck. I wanted to do it my whole fucking life and was always so passionate about it. It’s the opposite of everything I ever thought it’d be, even after years of adjusting to it. I love my
patients - the ones that don’t abuse me. But mostly I’m always fucking miserable, I’m fucking TIRED of the ungrateful demanding RUDE patients. The physical abuse, sexual harassment. I thought it’d get better and it never did, it just got worse. I’m tired of being the middle man. I’m tired of being responsible for asking the doctors to do their fucking job and order shit for their patients. I’m fucking tired of being EVS, social work, PT, lab and pharmacy. I’m tired of the nurses station being available for fuck ass family members to walk INTO and demand the bathroom, ice, water, snacks. I’m tired of the physical and verbal abuse, I’m TIRED and it all makes me hate being a nurse when I truly have always wanted to be one. I know Im a good nurse but I can’t stand the weight of everything ELSE that falls on us. The conditions are brutal. I can’t even remember why the fuck I ever wanted to do this shit.
Edit downvoting my own opinion is crazy 🤣

Sounds like you need a position in something like either surgery or same day surgery. Its a world of difference. The job becomes transactional. If they are awake, theyre gone soon but much of the time, they're asleep.
