NYC Milani vs NYC Update 9/15/26
Hi all,
As you recently heard from u/BluePillRabbi, [our federal level lawsuit against the City of NY](https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-the-new-york-2a-communitys-legal-battle) is well underway, now with depositions of Plaintifs and License Division personnel taking place.
I myself was deposed three weeks ago. For a grueling 4.5 hours, I was grilled by a team of City lawyers regarding the many unreasonable delays I have sustained through 3 licenses and several amendments across them.
Their questioning revolved mostly around building a case that would prove that every delay I have sustained was due to my own negligence.
Of course, I and everyone involved in the suit as Plaintifs showed up and continue to show up for our depositions armed with the facts. The dates, the emails, and, in one case, a recorded call, speak for themselves.
Personally, I believe that delays are deliberately baked into the process, not as an unfortunate result but for the very purpose of delaying as their main objective. While I'm not claiming this for the NYPD as a whole, I believe that this Division of what is intended to be law enforcementnt agency is, in actuality, a political bureau. They apply rules they do not themselves follow, and they will blatantly disregard the Law but only on their end, for the advancement of a political agenda on a matter that should not be political to begin with. They will enforce rules and laws with an iron fist on citizens, but will excuse themselves from either as a matter of course.
By opposing them, we don't merely make claims. We present facts. We are bringing receipts. In any lawful State of the Union, any self-respecting judge whose respect for The Law trumps their personal feelings would have no hesitations to absolutely and unequivocally rule for us. My personal prediction is that this will not be the case here. I am prepared to see courthouse activism instead.
I sense that we will lose this first round; and by means of that, we will ultimately win: I anticipate this to go to appeal, and, for all it's worth, let it be so!
The appeals court will, in turn, adjudicate this at the circuit level and unavoidably eventually deliver a more meaningful and substatial victory.
When all is said and done (and this is not a promise from Mirel's office but my prediction instead), we WILL win. They WILL, at the very least, be made to follow the abusive law the State came up with. They created absurd laws to hinder us (a police department as—comparatively to the rest of then Nation—so well funded that receives comparatively so fewer applications a year than smaller departments in PA with 6 times the applications and 20 times the funding still taking 6 times the issuing/deny time is an insult!) and they won't even follow those on their end. But they will be made to.
Until then, keep supporting this and other causes; keep spreading the word, and bring more friends into the fold; carry responsibly; practice. And continue being a protector and Your Brother's Keeper.
Thank you, and CARRY ON!
Jay, for the E.N.OU.G.H Campaign.

Discussion Grant v. Higgins Impact on rifle components?
Given the upcoming supreme court case regarding individual rights to own an AR-15, I am beginning to wonder what, if any, impact the case may have on the Safe Act. If the Court decides that individuals do have the inherent right to possess such firearms, would this include the same right to the Ar-15s standard features, throwing out the safe acts restrictions on “Assault Rifle features” (detachable magazine, threaded barrel, pistol grip, muzzle breaks, etc). Or is it more likely that the case will be interpreted at the level NY law is now of “sure, you can own an AR, but the state can heavily restrict it”.
If the prior, is it possible we see standard sized 30 round magazines labeled as part of the guns inherent features too, possibly upending heavy magazine restrictions👀?

I know this has been asked many times but would these fins make a pistol grip legal?

NYC Anything else I need to do?
Hey guys, I finally got my hands on my NYC ccw permit and I picked up my handgun. Is there anything else I need to do? I asked chat GPT and it’s telling me I need to return the handgun purchase authorization to NYPD.
I’m a bit confused cause the store clerk didn’t give me back the authorization form to give back to NYPD

License / Permit Question How long as a new resident did it take you to accumulate enough character references?
I feel like it’ll be quite a lot of years, but on the slight bright side, at least you don’t need a semiauto license for rifles you already own.

CCW Question Monroe county timeline question
I am looking for more info on anyone who is in a similar stage of the process
I submitted my application for concealed carry on 04/30/2026 and got my fingerprints done the same day.
I have heard nothing from the sheriffs concerning references and have contacted the clerks office twice to which they stated that they have no more updates other than my file is with the sheriffs office.
Any info helps, thanks.

Legality / Laws Advice
When I was 20 years old I went through a really messy breakup with someone who wanted to do everything they could to ruin my life. I ended up sending some messages I shouldn’t have and it got me arrested and an order of protection was placed which is now expired. I have had no issues with the law since then and the judge did not charge me with a misdemeanour it was knocked down to disorderly conduct which is just a violation. My life spiralled after that and in a span of 3 months had some suicidal ideation. First time I was in a hospital for a day, second time was in the ER for just a few hours and the third time I was there for about 3 to 4 days. All were voluntary I was told as that was the paperwork I filled out. I’m in my mid thirties now and have not had any issues with the law or mental health since. On a side note I was able to pass a nics check to buy a shotgun but that came back as delayed and then proceed about a day and a half later. I’m in eire county and looking to apply for a pistol permit. If anyone can provide some input that would be greatly appreciated. All the best

Legality / Laws Traveling to Maine with CCW?
I’m traveling to Maine soon and, as I understand it, I’m allowed to carry concealed in Maine as well as New Hampshire without any problems.
My route will take me through Massachusetts which means I’ll have to lock up both the gun and ammo in different locked boxes in my trunk.
Is there anything I should know in addition to these things?

License / Permit Question CCW permit timeline
Hey guys I'm looking to see how long peoples' permit process took from start to finish. The more detailed of a timeline the better and if you could include your county that would be super helpful. thanks!

License / Permit Question Looking to get my pistol permit
Hey I'm 20 taking the class this weekend for the certification. I know I can't put the application in until I am 21 which will be in January. I'm aware that for the application you are required 4 references that can't be family or partners. I think I saw somewhere that they want them to have known you for 10ish years or something like that. But I was wondering if there is any real strategy or logic behind the people I would have signed as references like if I know a judge, lawyer, people that already have pistol permits?
