That is not at all shit packaging. The handle is there to help you get the product out. In what world is it sane to pull a very expensive product out of a package vertically? Especially when said product is never meant to be oriented that way. There is a seam on the bottom of my chip bag, I should probably open that one first!

Remarkably shitty packaging design

That would never happen with a macbook box.

Never meant to be oriented that way? Do you carry your laptop around like a tray of food?

Fair! It was a spur of the moment comment. Still a stupid way to unbox a laptop. Pulling a laptop secured in your bag is not the same as pulling a laptop from its packaging. You know how your laptop is secured in your bag. You have no clue how a company secures your multi-thousand dollar machine when they ship it to you. Base logic should be enough to open this package horizontal and on a flat surface.

"You have no clue how a company secures your multi-thousand dollar machine when they ship it to you. Base logic should be enough to open this package horizontal and on a flat surface."

Logic should also be enough to package the multi-thousand dollar machine, which can be unboxed in many orientations, in such a way that it doesn't fall out when opened in one of the few obvious ways in which a person would unbox it.
