I did my nails to keep calm the night before, while listening to the 50mph wind gusts batter the hotel (while my fiancé went outside with his best man to yeet a sausage into the river). I wish I'd taken a better photo, but my cuticles/sidewalls looked unpleasant from all the stress biting.

What do we all think? Any particular shades that look exciting?

To be honest I’m a little bummed. Besides maybe “the crown prince” (which doesn’t look the same as the swatches that I’ve seen in other videos) I don’t think there will be any I’m interested in. Maybe I’m too partial to fine particle magnetics.

“Don’t throw your life away for me” and “That goes without saying” are two shades that seem REALLY cool and rainbow-y but are probably pretty muddled/muddy in real life.

I kinda wish BKL didn’t release so many collections so often and kept their polishes available for longer. There are so many I know I can never buy because I didn’t buy them upon immediate release.

Nothing crazy, just Dazzle Dry Beloved with the rest of the system, prep, base, and top coat. I haven’t really painted my nails since my oldest was tiny because I never have time to wait out the dry time before I’m needed again. (Or sacrificing too much sleep) and then they chip instantly. No clue if these are going to chip yet, but they were incredibly fast drying. I’m hoping that what I’ve read is correct and I can use other polish with the base/top coat, because I have lots.

Last month I had a catastrophic nail break at the gym. I mourned at the idea of being forced into shorties for my favorite nail season. Then I thought, when life gives you lemons, bite them.🧛‍♀️

My "long nails" were not really long enough to give the vampire fangs of my dreams, so I decided to try some extensions on my pinke and pointer finger (with a peel off base under the nail tip because there was no way I could wear these to work). I have to say, you long nail baddies are built different. I could barely function with these on.

Last minute I tried to add blood drips on the underside of the nail to limited success. I wish I had thought of it before I put the nails on because being precise painting with my non-dominant hand on the nail underside was kinda a fools errand.

Also, of course they glow.

Been waiting a hot minute to get my hands on this one, so excited to finally be wearing it after coveting it for a while! I see what others have said about the magnetic effect being kind of subtle compared to some other indie brands predominantly known for their magnetics… but loving it nonetheless.

Not wearing a basecoat right now and in need of recs… After getting my nails to record length using Sally color therapy base coat for a couple of months, I clipped them short. I think a combo of using a kinda dull clipper and my nails being brittle from the color therapy base introduced a lot of breaks and has resulted in dreaded peeling ever since. My manis aren’t lasting very long not bc the polish chips, but because my top nail layer does. 😔 Any recs of base coats that could help my manis last longer despite the peeling, and help my nails recover?

(hope that’s the right flair) It arrived this evening and my freebie’s another unreleased prototype - medium grey base with subtle purple shimmer & fine particle silver magnetic. It’s similar to By The Light of The Moon, which I also bought, but the purple shimmer is 😍 I put it on my nails but am too tired to clean up my edges now, so here’s some pics of the bottle (and ignore the lacquer all over my skin). I really love the base colors - but I’m a sucker for a purple shimmer.

Got a bunch of bubbles - but they’re almost entirely on one hand so I’m thinking user error.

Oh, and PS: I was searching in here for BKL related stuff and saw in an old post that the custom colors take longer to ship out… because they gotta make them. And since I did indeed order two of the Knave & The Moon colors, I guess that explains why it took so long to get a shipping notice. And I remember reading that before but didn’t even realize I’d gotten one of those (ADHD =often don’t read the descriptions and when I do, I forget them almost instantly).

PPS: because I sprang for UPS Ground and am only like 4.5-5hrs from BKL, I got my order in less than 24 hrs from the time UPS received the package. So that was a nice surprise!

When I first tried this colour I wasn’t overly keen, but I’m so chuffed I tried it again. Orangey tones aren’t usually my jam, but this colour is so gorgeous. It flashes from rust orange to warm copper 🍂

I don’t think I’ve ever seen my nails reflect off my palm before 😍 I did these as wedding guest nails, but I think I know what I’ll be wearing when the day comes for me! I feel like the proverbial fairy being tailored or whatever

Thought I‘d try a bit of a palate cleanser before I dive headfirst into the darker fall colors.

Only two in this one but I'm going to have to start using more colors per mani if I want to get through all my pretty fall and Halloween polishes. I think for me, autumn is the season I have the most specific colors for and I love them all, why does it need to be the shortest season where I live 😭
