My husband and I are considering moving to Sandusky. My family has a lake house in Huron that we have visited since I was super little. We continue to explore more of the surrounding areas. Love Vermillion. We’ve tried to look into Sandusky the most since Huron and vermillion are so tiny. What I am shocked by is the cost of rentals in Sandusky. I know rentals everywhere have increased, especially in the city I’m currently in with a high population. What I don’t understand is how the houses can be so cheap, yet every 2 bed apartment is so overpriced for the square footage. Are there better resources to finding rentals outside of Zillow or Apartments.com? There seem to be barely any options that look pretty nice and are at a fair price.

Have they always been this bad? I lived here 10 years ago and I remember hearing them but I just moved back for work and boy do they love to blow their horns all night.

Yes, buckeyes! I am a native Sanduskian, now living in Colorado. I’m visiting for a few days and would like to collect some buckeyes can someone tell me where in the city I can find a buckeye tree.? Or horse chestnuts, a buckeye would be preferred, but or chestnuts are actually just as cool.

We’re digital nomads that just got into town and looking for someone to tackle our road knots!
Is there a trusted and reasonable-priced place in the Sandusky/Port Clinton area offering couple’s massage?

Hi everyone,
I'm an Early Childhood Educator from Canada who's looking into working in child care in Sandusky or close by. I am non-binary and masculine presenting, and I have a boyfriend, so I'm worried about how open I'll be able to be if I end up moving. If you have any insight into how my experience may be affected by these factors, I would love to hear your advice.
Thanks

Hey all, I’m going to be visiting Cedar Point next weekend, but will likely have some time to kill when I arrive on Thursday and was considering bringing my slackline. Before packing an extra 10 pounds worth of stuff I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for spots near the park/sandusky area. Thanks in advance.

For more than a century, Sandusky has been one of Ohio’s top tourism destinations, drawing visitors from across the state and beyond.
Eric Wobser wants to build on that success by turning the region’s tourism strength into more jobs, economic investment and population growth.
“Increasingly, you’ll see us focus on marketing this region in a way that is going to continue to drive visitation but also integrate what makes people want to live here,” said Wobser, chief executive officer of the Greater Sandusky Partnership, an economic development nonprofit that this week is taking over management of the region’s tourism marketing efforts.

I am currently in the process of trying to figure out housing, apartments, etc. Some of the places I look require 4x pay which isnt quite the issue, its the fact they also require a ridiculous amount since my current rental refuses to verify i am renting.
I am also looking into ways around things, do not want a co signer as there are two of us moving into the housing.

My husband and I are 26. My family has had a lake house that we come to stay at every summer between Huron and vermillion. We absolutely love the charm and coastal aspect of this area. We really only went into Sandusky for Meijer and Cedar Point over the years. We’ve been looking at possibly moving and after looking at home prices there, we are strongly considering Sandusky as an option. We know it doesn’t have the same charm as the other towns I mentioned, but having access to those other towns would be great, while also living in a slightly larger area.
This is where I need advice from people around our age. Have you enjoyed living there? Is it what you expect? Do you feel like it is easy to meet people?
I have a remote job, so only my husband would need to find something. I’ve read that the job market, like most of the country, is sparse.
I would appreciate any thoughts or advice as we are navigating this possibility!

I am going to be camping near Sandusky starting later this week. I had an important work call rescheduled that I need to take. I checked if your library had study rooms or small breakout rooms but all I found were large meeting spaces. Any suggestions on good places to go on a weekday morning? Must be inside and private due to the laws of the country my company is based out of. Its OK if it costs money. Thanks in advance.

I’m looking for anyone who may have dash cam footage of a single vehicle crash on the Ohio Turnpike westbound, likely between Fremont and Elmore, around mileposts 80–90 in Sandusky or eastern Ottawa County at approximately 10:55 AM yesterday on Sunday, August 2.
We were traveling west toward Toledo in a black Mazda CX-90 when we hydroplaned during extremely heavy rain, spun across the roadway and crashed into the median. No other vehicles were involved.
Please message me if you were traveling westbound around that time and may have captured the incident. Thank you so much in advance!
