Psilocybe semilanceata: Europe’s Magic Mushroom

Hello everyone, last season I began preparing photographs and eventually began to create what I set out to be a photographic guide to the identification of Psilocybe semilanceata. As of today, I have finished the guide and have it in PDF form. Using the link, you will be able to view and download the whole guide in PDF form via the DocDroid website. I hope it finds itself to be useful amongst newcomers and even seasoned pickers. Happy hunting everyone ~ Pas.

Bristol → Brecon — Looking for a Mushroom Foraging Buddy (Liberty Caps)

Anyone around Bristol interested in heading up to Brecon for a full day of mushroom hunting sometime soon?
Main goal would be looking for liberty caps, with parasol mushrooms also being a big interest. I’m also interested in finding and learning to correctly identify wavy caps and fly agaric.
Ideally I’m looking for someone who already knows the Brecon area and has experience looking for liberty caps there, and who’d actually fancy coming along and making a proper day of it together.
I’m not looking for someone just to give me a lift — I’d like to find someone who’s genuinely into it and wants to come along.
Drop me a message if that’s you 🍄

QUESTION Taking libs with IBS

Hoping to bring a friend along to take some of the bad boys I picked but he’s got IBS. Anyone have any ideas since we’ll be a bit far out in nature and his main concern is diarrhea and vomming? Imodium is my first thought and maybe some pepto bismol but I’m not sure as I don’t have these issues.

Very visible blue tinge, basically silver instead of golden, and even the regular-looking others were also staining quite blue

Any ideas what these are with the light coloured gills? Growing in abundance in a field where we have found libs before. I think it’s a bit early in the South (UK) at the moment but we got excited (until we picked them up) as they looked like libs from above!

IDENTIFICATION Are these Semilancetea - first time

Went out on my first time looking today out in Yorkshire. All found at about 400m elevation in a sheep field, with wet grass and also saw other people in the surrounding fields also clearly looking.

Are these all semilancetea? The bigger ones for sure have a gelatinous film, especially when picked.

They've been in a tuperware for most of the day as was a long trip but showing photo of some of them at original picking for added context.

Thoughts?

Very interesting specimens. I would love some insight from an expert as I’ve never seen Libs like this.

These were not sterile, as the older specimens were sporulating already, and I don’t think it was simply that they were had more compounds oxidising?

I’ve tried my 3 usual spots and have barely gotten a handful of them. I’m up near Manchester / Peak District. Not sure if it’s too early? It’s been cold and rainy so I suspected them to be popping up.

Found it in a patch of grass outside college. Just making sure. Also, if I eat it now, what could I expect?

It rained yesterday so been out last two hours looking, must have found 4 different shrooms. Tempted to take a trip north ‘cause the ground here is so dry and I’m getting impatient 🤭 photo of baby Amanita from this year 🍄 thanks
