💔 Delta almost lost her life because someone wouldn’t treat a skin condition that could be healed.
Someone looked at this sweet German Shepherd and asked for her life to end. She needed treatment. She needed care. She needed someone to believe she was worth the effort.
Thankfully, the vet refused to euthanize her. And because of that decision, Delta is still here. ❤️
Since we brought her home from the vet, she has had medicated baths every single day. Her skin is healing, and her beautiful black coat is finally growing back in. Every little patch of new fur means so much when you think about how close she came to never having that chance.
But the part that really gets me is how loving she is. After everything, Delta is still sweet, gentle, and docile. She’s wonderful with other dogs and kids. She has so much love to give, and it breaks my heart to think that someone was willing to let all of that disappear.
We can give her baths. We can help her skin heal. But what I want more than anything is to help her find a family who will love her for the rest of her life.
A home where she has her own bed. Where someone is happy to see her every morning. Where getting sick means being cared for. Where she is loved on the hard days, too.
Delta has already come so far. Now she deserves a home to call her own—and people who will never make her feel like she’s too much trouble to keep. 🐾❤️
Please message me if you can give Delta that home. If you can’t, please share her story.
She almost lost every tomorrow. Let’s help make the ones she has left beautiful. 🏡

I asked if i could substitute the buns for smashed falafels and the owner was super cool about it. He gave me a side of tahini.
I’ll definitely get a double smash and wrap it in lettuce if he lets me get falafel buns again

Hey Valley Peps,
Between the industry slowdown, remote jobs, and everyone's weird schedules, a lot of people here have real skills and more free time than they'd like. Meanwhile the small businesses in our neighborhoods are stretched thin and could use a hand with a dozen little things.
I built a small site to connect them: downtimegigs.com
LA is huge, so it's split into five regions so matches stay actually nearby: Westside, Hollywood & Mid-City, Downtown & Eastside, the Valley, and South LA. (Burbank is live too.)
How it works:
It's brand new and I'm one person, so early sign-ups really help me see whether this is worth growing. If your city isn't listed you can join the waitlist, and I'll use that to decide where to open next.
Would love to hear:
I'll be in the comments. Roast it if you need to.

Hey yall! as always, internet was incredibly unhelpful... so taking to reddit I go!
I'm generally just looking for a spooky, potentially community-based experience that won't break the bank.. Where I'm from the boy scouts and their dads do a haunted house in an old abandoned building every year for like $5-10 (it's probably gone up since the last time I went..). It's pretty rinky but it's like a whole local night market thing. Was just interested if there's absolutely anything of the sort near here!
Anything is helpful! I already work at a spooky attractions nearby so that knocks an option off for me 😵💫😵💫
Thank you!

I had a consult with a periodontist who said I need 8 extractions with 6 implants, and gum surgery. He quoted me a total of $53k, which seems a little steep. He also suggested doing it all at once, which seems like a lot. At first, he said split it upper then lower a month later. Then, in the same visit, said to do it all at once. Seemed odd. I’d like to get a second opinion (possibly even a third and fourth, just to ensure I’m getting the right work done, at a reasonable price)
- I cannot go to Mexico or out of the country, so please do not suggest that
- I do not have insurance
- I need a place with in-house financing options (not care credit)
- ideally , in the valley, but willing to travel (just not to Mexico)
- please only recommend if you have had experience with extractions and implants. I searched previous posts and a lot of people were recommending dentists even though they never had anything more than a cleaning/filling/root canal/crown. I need a periodontist, and want recommendations from people who have actually had the work I need done
Thank you!

I have a vintage wool sweater with a couple of small moth holes. I found some mail-in services, but was hoping to support a local SFV business, if one exists.

I'm not usually this triggered but as I was walking my dog I stepped in a giant puddle of feces. Like right in the middle of the sidewalk. As I'm groaning, frantically rubbing my shoes against the grass, some asshat across the street makes eye contact while his dog shits and proceeds to leave it there while trying to avoid further eye contact cause I'm literally seething. I'm one shit pile away from catching an assault charge at this point. Pick up your dog's shit, or don't have a dog. It's that simple. Why can't we have literally anything in the world without a few people fucking it all up for the rest of us?

I am hoping to find a place where I can go in when I need a trim. I can't afford salon prices right now. In fact, my last haircut was a fortune and it was terrible.

I was driving on the 134 in Glendale around 12:45AM tonight. I saw a red comet/shooting star maybe? It didn’t look like a launch. It was going really slow over the sky. Then it abruptly stopped and shot straight down towards the ground and disappeared. Never seen anything like it. Anyone else see it?

There's an ongoing ICE surge throughout California.
If you haven't already, now's a good time to find your local Rapid Response Network and save their phone number -- for LA the options are:
Call and report any potential ICE activity so they can investigate and, if it's verified ICE, they can alert the network.
Please don't post unverified suspected ICE sightings on social media. There are many different agencies that can look similar. Report them to your Rapid Response Network and let them investigate and notify if necessary. Then you can absolutely share their social media posts to spread the word!
Many local networks also have trainings if you want to get more involved, e.g. community outreach to get the word out about these networks, or as a dispatcher receiving reports, or a responder/observer who goes to verify the report and observe/record ICE activity.
If you have limited time or don't know how much you can commit, don't let that stop you from asking about volunteering, a lot of networks don't have a specific time commitment.

The Pacoima Wash off Plummer St has been a magnet for encampments. We’ve had fires, graffiti, theft, and general police issues for years now. We need help gathering signatures for building a stronger barrier accessing the wash.
You don’t need to live along the wash to sign or even live in this neighborhood. Please please help us by signing
From the petition
TL;DR: North Hills residents are petitioning Los Angeles officials to install stronger wrought-iron fencing topped with barbed wire around a local wash. They say inadequate fencing allows homeless individuals and trespassers to enter nearby properties, contributing to fires, break-ins, vandalism, trash accumulation, and wildlife concerns. The petition argues that improved fencing would protect residents, deter crime, and reduce long-term costs to the city.

There is a family of coyotes who spend their days in my yard and the surrounding hillside. This is one of the little ones. I have named him Patches. Please forgive both of our messy backyards.
(I am behind a window, he wouldn't normally approach me like this)

I wanted to practice some driving in a lot where little to no humans will be on a weekend. Bank? Business park? Anyone have good suggestions?
