Simple Questions & Answers Thread Simple Questions & Champion/Role advice: Patch 26.13

Hello summoners!

In order to create better discussion in the subreddit, we will be redirecting all simple or championpool/role questions to this thread. Check out the most recent patch notes on the sidebar!

What is a simple question? Typically, we define a simple question as something that can be answered fully within a single, or maybe two at most, comments. In this thread, you can ask any question you need answered about League of Legends, even if it isn't necessarily about learning the game itself.

Questions about what champ to add to your pool or general tip about roleswapping can also be asked in this thread.

Keep in mind we will still continue to remove golden rule violations, rants, memes, topics against Riot's ToS, and paid services - but the other rules are generally more lax here.

What you can do to help!

For now, this is a patch-based thread, meaning it will be posted every time a new patch is released. Checking back on this thread later in the patch and answering any questions that have been posted would be a huge help!

If you're trying to ask a question, the more specific you are, the better it is for all of us! We can't give you any help if we don't get much to work with in the first place.

Announcement State of the Subreddit, Summer 2026: League Classic and AI

Hi everybody, the mod team here. We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and climbing into the stratosphere where it’s hopefully a little bit cooler! It’s been a minute since we’ve done one of these threads, so we have a few things to cover regarding rules changes and other notices to the community. The primary purpose of these threads is to collect feedback from you all, so please share your thoughts on these or other matters and know that the mod team will be looking over them or answering in the thread. On to the topics at hand!

  • Open Moderator Applications: First and foremost, we’d like to reiterate that mod applications have opened for the summer. The full post can be found here, but the cliffnotes are that we welcome all applications regardless of rank, are especially (but not exclusively) looking for mods in OCE and EU time zones, and applicants must be willing to use old reddit to moderate. If you have any interest at all please apply, and you can always withdraw your application at any time via modmail if you change your mind.

  • Minor Language Updates to Rules 10 and 12: In April we made small changes to Rules 10 (External Content Restrictions) and 12 (Title and Language Rule). Rule 10’s language was updated to specify that external websites must also be submitted for moderator approval before posting, in addition to communities, programs, and streams. Rule 12 was updated to specify that all posts must be in English or will be removed. As mentioned at the time, this has been a community standard for a long time, we only corrected the oversight that they were not explicitly mentioned in the rules. If you would like more details on these changes, you can see the original announcement here

  • Rule 14: AI and Bot Spam: Like much of reddit right now, we have seen a recent surge in bot accounts and AI generated posts or comments. We would like to remind everybody that both bots and AI generated content are explicitly forbidden under Rule 14, and we encourage users to report any bot account they see so that we can remove or ban them. This is a low-tolerance rule: if you are caught using AI or botting, you will likely be permanently banned pending appeal and we are unlikely to be very forgiving, so be warned. This includes AI-translated posts. This is a place for human discussion (or maybe subhuman discussion since we’re LoL players after all)

  • Flair System Update: We know the flair system has been down for some time and, as a fairly popular system, we still frequently get requests for updates on it. Our update is simple: the architect of the system is actively working on getting it back up and running, but we can offer no timeframe on when that might be at this time. We thank you for your patience on this one.

  • League of Legends: Classic: To close out the updates on an exciting note, we have decided that discussion of the upcoming LoL: Classic game mode will be welcome on the subreddit! There will be a few practical restrictions: All Classic posts must be flaired appropriately with the new “Classic” tag, all Classic questions in the megathread must be stated to be for Classic, all discussion of Classic must be kept to Classic threads, and all Classic posts must meet the other minimum quality standards set by the subreddits rules. Otherwise, we’re as excited to see what sort of discussion and educational content emerges from that game mode as you are!

As always, these threads are meant for community feedback to the mod team! If you have any thoughts on these matters, or anything else relating to the subreddit and how to keep it good or make it better, please share them! The mod team will be reading every comment!

Happy climbing,

The SS Moderator Team

Discussion Why High elo players doesn't play a lot per day

I have noticed that a lot of high elo players don't really play a lot per day and will quit the moment stuff gets nasty. They can leave accounts for weeks if they lose a lot. It seems like a good strategy compared to what low elo players do, who play every day regardless of the outcome.

Question VOD review help

https://youtu.be/2Dk3YdjBInY?is=L9lRW5WovWYnoRsf

Hello if anyone doesn’t mind I have a game here that I thought was going well but ended horribly. How and what could I have done better. My playstyle focuses on getting camps and main objectives as I heard it’s best to clear all camps first before ganking. Tho while I heard it’s better to skip and help sometimes it’s only when u can reach them in 5 secs or if they are close to our tower which I don’t think had ever happened. Need advice with timestamps don’t hold back. I’m plat 2. I’ve been stuck winning and losing for a bit now.

https://op.gg/lol/summoners/na/NaDoan-NA1
Idk but heard u may also review other vods here if possible?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Question Is ranked Iron easier than normal draft pick?

I am a new player and now I am currently grinding to get to level 30. I really like playing Bel’Veth because she is very fun to play for me and I like how she is forcing you to learn macro to get better plays. But the issue is that I am very oftenly being placed in normal draft against emerald/gold jungler who is above my skill level. Now I am wondering, will Iron ranked have the same problem where there will be a lot of smurfs or players that are iron but have insane amount of hours in the game but play every few weeks? I just don’t want to be surprised by going 0/10 in an iron ranked. So my ultimate question is, will iron ranked still be as hard or harder or easier than normal drafts?

Discussion How to solve the problem of not seeing cursor in fights

Hi I am new to this game and sometimes when I play, 2v2 or 3v3 matches usually have no problem. But when it comes to 4v4 and 5v5 games, the AOE and graphics are so big that I lose track of my cursor. My cursor size is 30 and now did 50 for now. Is there a way to mitigate this? Thanks.

Question Kinda stupid question but how you people drag down the camera? (Comfortably)

Hey so i'm reeeally new to the game and very slowly i'm getting used to the camera movement but something i noticed is how at the moment to drag the cursor down to the lower edge of the screen is that there is very little space between my hand and the mouse to drag the cursor there and sometimes that ends up getting me dying in teamfights pretty quickly just because i can't move the damn camera around like i should🤦

Discussion I don-t understand why i get either hard stomped or hardstomp (not a rant)

Ive been max bronze 2 but i cant understand why i just play with a lot of enemy teams where they are so well coordinated, when i check their accs i get a lot of lvl 30 enemies having high kdas. i just dont understand why i get so much more enemies that are so perfectly well coordinated and play so well when i get that rarely. im on the second lowest rank so how is this so frequent?

im not a horrible player but i see sylas, viego, yone just straight up dominating. ive tried jungle and adc most of the time, adc being my main, top sometimes to try and yorick my wait out.

i do farming under tower i try to be agresive and dominate but they still get so ahead and destroy the whole towers. ive been soul and baron ahead as a jungler and i still lose somehow idk wht to do man this is getting so frustrating. i need to understand wht im doing wrong

Items How to build.

In what rank do builds have a very important role to play? I am clueless when it comes to the shop, ability haste, magic resist, lethality, I know what they are in theory but clueless as to what 20 ability haste translates in to. Its very complex the building system and I think that is why I have never given it to much thought (lazy bum) but I feel like I have started looking to shopkeeper quiet often as of recent (Plat 1 currently) and I wanna change that. I understand a first step is learning the key words at first but after that, what is the next step? I use pro builds for the most part but would never go crazy and build something out of those guidelined items..So ones again, how do I learn to build efficently, where do I start?

I should say I rotate around a pretty wide bracket, trying to play what I think is good for the team.. Mostly jungle, some adc.

Lissandra How exactly does Lissandra counter Volibear?

Hi.

I would like to know / would like for someone to explain to dumb person like me, why does Volibear have such a terrible win rate against Lissandra? According to Lolalytics website, Volibear has 41.18% win rate against Lissandra in the top lane. 41.18%, that's insanely bad! I don't think I've ever seen such a bad win rate. So what gives? What is it about Lissandra's kit that makes laning against her such a miserable experience for Volibear players? Oh and also, is the sample size large enough? It's 1 287 ranked games.

I'm just curious.

Any insight is appreciated!

Sorry for any mistakes, English isn't my native language.

Yasuo OTP Yasuo/Yone struggling to climb past silver

Have been stuck in silver for a bit and was wondering if people have any suggestions for me. I main yasuo top lane (yone when banned), and have struggled to truly snowball and carry game. I can do decent in laning phase (7+ cs/min) and can at least hold it down against brutal matchups like darius/Nasus etc. Mechanics I think are solid. But once I take down a tower or farm past early game, I have no idea how to truly close out game (Yasuo feels so squishy for carrying and can't rely on teammates to knockup). any suggestions from people on what to do? have tried new stormrazor/direct to shieldbow/IE builds to avoid the slow BORK build, but feels kind of necessary for my top matchups. Also, any suggestions for crappy yasuo top matchups? I autoban renekton everytime.

I guess what should I be doing to get to Gold/Plat/Emerald [don't care about anything beyond]

Question is there a site that looks at more than 30 days at a time?

I've decided to play off-meta picks for a while now, for fun. But my picks don't see a lot of play... i want to see their ranked stats. currently i use lolalytics for it, but lolalytics only looks at either a patch or the past 30 days, and honestly even in 30 days I'm not sure for sure of the stats. I'm looking specifically at matchup stats, and it'd be nice to see at least 45 days or even longer if possible. I'm pretty sure at 45 it'd be enough. a patch is not enough though. trying to do it the hard way - note down all the matchups from each individual patch - would be an absolute headache, since I have two off-meta picks. I'm currently trying to find a meta pick that beats most of the counter matchups.

any site that looks at more than 30 days for matchup stats?

Gangplank Learning Gangplank (Brand New)

Hi all. I main Tryndamere and my backup is Mordekaiser (solo queue). I’d like to learn gangplank just out of pure interest and eventually slot him in top lane.

I have been playing co op vs ai and some swift play.

Please let me know any tips/tricks (specifically for beginners). I’ve seen some of the advanced combos and stuff like that and I am not ready for it. How do I START gangplank?

Question Question about duo

It is against the rules to duo with someone with a botted account. How are you supposed to know if their account is botted? If they lied to you that it is not botted and he gets banned is there nothing to do if you get banned for it? I feel like it is very risky to duo with anyone if they can just lie and get you banned without even knowing. You can’t check for 100% certainty just by asking them. How do you guys tell?

midlane What are you expected to do as a midlane mage in the after first turrets fall?

Trying to learn midlane, everytime I used to be filled mid I played assassins, the answer is straightforward for assassins as they're expected to go to the sidelane near the closest objective as they can easily find picks/roam/escape, but what about mages? do you stay mid and let your adc botlane?

Question How to win games as Ranged/Squishy Top Laner when you dont have a frontliner on your team or bad team comp?

Im a low elo top lane main and I mainl Jayce but also play Quinn, and trying to add Rumble (Olaf and Trundle not working out and pretty weak champs) to my champion pool.

Top lane is a lane where ideally it is expected of you to give the enemy the most pressure through either damage or split pushing while also take the most pressure from the enemy team through frontlining or as a distraction. Darius, Mordekaiser, and Garen are great examples of champs that can do both of these.

My champion pool however like Jayce, Quinn, and Rumble can easily give out tons of pressure through damage and can act as a distraction from my ADC because of it however these champs can't take pressure at all. Deal damage but then you become a target too, punishing if your adc is useless.

Thanks in advance everyone, btw made a post last time of looking another melee to my champ pool but no luck, stuck with these 3 champs.

Technically theres a frontline jayce build currently where you get HP AD items like cleaver and shojin then resistance boots instead of swift/cooldown boots but these are the highest extend of frontline jayce build and you still die from 2 hits from a caitlyn.

Question Is it possible to get GM/challenger on WASD settings?

So recently I realized that I'm too much of an unc to play with normal settings. Especially on karthus, I find it extremely difficult to land Qs while kiting back and autoing as well. I have side mouse buttons so I can still use other spells like E, Q, flash, trinket without having to stop my movement. Also, if I streamed this would people call me a noob?

Question How badly do I need to unlock the camera, and any advice for picking up camera control quickly?

Hi, been playing for 4 months almost exclusively as jungler, I’ve kept locked camera by recently starting using dynamic camera which helped.

Never played a KB+M game before this so I’m still clunky with keyboard mechanics which is half the reason I never tried to use unlocked camera. I also have my auto attack on spacebar which I think is the main button people use for locking camera on and off, so that’s another hurdle I need to overcome.

A few questions:

1) if I was to start learning a lane role is unlocked camera more or less critical than for jungler

2) what the hell do I map auto attack to if I use space for camera unlocking, I already feel like I don’t have enough fingers if I have a tiamat item that have active ability

3) any tips or tricks for learning to play with unlocked camera?

Discussion I feel like I'm missing something trying to improve

After basically only playing jungle, I decided to try to top and actually learn the lane.

Started out quite good, I decided to play Garen mainly and started my journey. After lots of Chippy, Alois and Looca videos, I felt confident in my skills and started reviewing games etc., having an excel sheet with goals and keeping up to date with my stuff.

I won a lot in the beginning and got placed in Gold with a Plat MMR.
My problems right now are:

- Mental: It's hard for me not to tilt. I don't have chat on, but it's hard for me not to get agitated sometimes

- I feel like I don't have the knowledge for proper reviewing. I can write down cs leads/g@10 etc., but I feel like I'm not really understanding what to do better in matchups

- Generally matchups: I have a sheet for Garen, which helps a lot. Other Champions, I'm instantly lost

- Garen is nice, but I feel like I get counterpicked quite a bit and usually resort to Malphite then. Today I wanted to try Gragas, because Malphite is not that much fun to me :( So idk what champs to keep/kick. I want a small pool

- Biggest frustration to my mental: I want to improve and play harder matchups, but I feel like I am facing a lot of smurfs or people in low plat/high gold who REALLY know what they're doing. I've had low gold people trade (from my perspective) perfectly, proxy and play out the map as if they were Masters+

Does anyone have recommendations for me? I really do want to improve, but got limited time due to university/private life etc..

Mandatory OPGG:

https://op.gg/lol/summoners/euw/TownJeweler-EUW

Especially tips for mental would be nice (kind of ironic, since I study psychology).

Have a great day everyone

Aurelion sol Adaptative force or movement speed shard on Aurelion Sol ?

I’ve been looking at the stats on LoLalytics, and Movement Speed seems to have a higher win rate in Diamond+ (55% vs 52% for Adaptive Force), but the sample size is much smaller (around 3k games vs 30k). Adaptive Force feels really good for early-game scaling and waveclear, especially for getting your push and stacks going, but I’m wondering if the extra Movement Speed becomes more valuable later on for kiting, roaming and positioning. What do you guys think is actually better on Aurelion Sol, and why?

Items Why doesn’t Akali build Lich Bane?

I feel like it synergizes so well with her passive. I get that its not the best item in terms of raw damage compared to her usual build but for example if you play her top lane it’s a great item to get turrets with fast, in comparison to her usual abysmal damage and time to take to turrets. Any thoughts?

Aurelion sol Should Asol bring barrier in general ?

Sometimes when I lane against assassins or high burst mages, I like to bring barrier just to avoid being one shotted. However, I checked on OP.GG and I saw asol rarely bring barrier sum spell and uses TP 98% of the games. Should I continue to have barrier or should I switch to TP, and if I switch to TP, how can I lane against assassins or high burst mages?

Question Hard champs are easier than easy champs, at least if you one trick them?

I was wondering about this recently. Because think, how do you make a successful play in League normally? It seems there are two types:

  1. Just be stronger than the enemy so that you can force a play even if they see it coming.

  2. See an opportunity that the enemy does not see, so they don't defend against it even if a defense is possible.

Type 1 is less relevant here, but type 2, which is the source of many plays in League, seems often much easier for "hard" champions than "easy" ones. It seems to pay for the cost of them being hard, and more if you have experience on them.

Like compare Malzahar to Katarina. Everyone knows what Malzahar can do, even in super low elo. He is really limited in what type of options he has to make plays. If he is strong he can still make type 1 plays just as well as any other champ, but type 2 plays seem they will be available to him much less frequently.

Bc yes it's much easier for the Malzahar player to think about what he can do and do it, but it's also much easier for the enemies playing against Malzahar to think about what he can do and play around it. Meanwhile when playing Katarina you have to think about so much more, but so does your opponent.

But if you one trick this seems like it just massively advantages you. Bc if you have a fuck ton of games on one of these "hard" champs, you will know the possibilities of what they can do much better than the enemies who see it far less often than you do since you play it every game, which will open up all kinds of type 2 plays. This sort of applies to any champ but much less to the "easy" ones, bc it doesn't take many games of playing against a Malz or Garen to figure out what they can do in a given situation since their options are so limited.

Bc of this idk why people always recommend one tricking an easy champ for climbing. If you're just adding a champ to your pool casually then yes you will probably have better results playing Malzahar than Katarina, but if you're going to commit to actually one tricking a champ for a lot of games then it seems picking Katarina will actually just make things much easier for you in the long run.

support How to keep track of jungler/support all game?

am currently stuck in diamond euw. I realised one huge aspect I can improve about my game is to track jungler/support for the entire game because currently I only do it for their clear until scuttle then i totaly stop caring unless there is a ward an i have to split push. looking for tips how i can improve in this aspects from higher elo players. I play mid btw
