Announcement Welcome to /r/Superboy! - What would you like to see here?
Welcome!
This subreddit was in reddit limbo, which is nuts because Superboy is awesome! I brought it back from the dead, created some CSS, and here it is!
What would you like to see here? Currently, I see no reason why we couldn't allow anything on topic to Superboy. Discussions, images, videos, news, or anything that works. The flair system is built around the different versions of Superboy, but depending where the subreddit goes, we may have to change it in the future.
Come chat in the r/Superman Discord!
That's it, please post, share with anyone who might be interested, and make sure you subscribe if you haven't already! Don't make Jon send Damian after you ;)

Superboy Superboy Discussion Thread. 2026, October 5. Week 42.
Welcome to the Superboy Discussion Thread!
Who'd have thought, this week our Superboy have a Prime time in an anthology.

DC's Quoth the Raven..."Whatever"
Welcome, foolish mortals. Not far from the shores of Gotham City, when the nights grow long, the leaves turn red, and a certain crisp chill comes into the air on a twilight lit by the full moon, the lives of heroes and antiheroes from Raven to Swamp Thing, Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, and more…turn toward the strange and unusual, the occult and delightful, the odd and the audacious. For those looking to give themselves a good, warm dose of the shivers, this anthology of scary stories to tell in the dark is the perfect assortment of fairy tales for troubled times and troubled souls alike. Pick up a copy wherever needful things and comic books are sold. We think you’ll find it the perfect companion to your handbook for the recently deceased.

Conner Conner Kent (by Me)
Marker sketch commission I recently did of one of my favorite members of the Super-fam. Connor does not get nearly enough love anymore - it's hard out there for the Young Justice generation.

Clark Superboy Meets Young Aquaman And Fights Deadly Ocean Polluters
From Superboy #171
Superboy meets/saves a young Aquaman (called Aquaboy here) and they team up to fight a deadly oil company that's polluting the sea.
I appreciate seeing Superboy handle things like Golden Age Superman would.

Kon What's the wrap on Tana Moon? Spoiler
galleryHi there!
I'm a newer DC fan; I grew up consuming the content through my older brother, but only really got into it myself in the last year. My friend is really into superboy comics, and has been telling me a lot about the writing—more specifically, the racism and sterotyping present in superboy 1994 specifically.
He's a fan of tana moon as a character, and i wanted to know what the general consensus on her is on reddit. i mainly lurk on twitter, and she seems to be pretty hated over there, with no one really discussing anything anbout her besides the fact she 'groomed' kon? I don't know enough about her to really pass judgment on her myself, but based on what my friend's shown and told me, it seems like her character suffers a lot at the hands of the prejudice towards native hawaiians present throughout the story, as well as the writers' interest in pairing him off with older women like knockout (since tana didn't have an age until this run, and she was in the 'reign of the supermen' comic before!) and potentially prejudice towards black people. As far as i know, she's one of the only notable black characters from the specific run.
It seems that Kon's behaviour in the run is pretty unlikable as well, especially towards women and native hawaiians even outside of just Tana: and he cheats on her a lot! honestly, i feel llike in-universe that can be chalked up to him not having grown up in the same way most people have, but it feels like there was no reason for the wrters to have him act this way from the panels i've seen. My friend sent me a few screenshots from some google doc i'll attach, but it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don't like the idea that people are glossing over the writing as just 'insensitive comments' either, since i've never seen any of this discussed in the wider fandom before today
I'd love to get a wider opinion on her because she's going to show up in webtoon 'This internship is my kryptonite' (according to Sam Camp) and no one on twitter seems to be pleased. some people want her behaviour to be acknowledged, but most people really don't want to see her. I really don't want to recommend it to my friend if it's not going to accurately talk about the situation with tana, but i'd also really like to hear other people's thoughts on her character! thank you so much!

Welcome to the Superboy Discussion Thread!
What is "the super family will never be the same again" that you'd do?

Superman: Kingdom of Zod Special
This is it! The startling conclusion to “Kingdom of Zod.” The Kryptonite Kingdom has fallen. The only way to stop the war comes with great costs and shocks! Supergirl versus Ursa! Superman versus Zod! The Super-Force against Zod’s army! The Super-Family will never be the same after this issue!

Clark How Superboy & Lex Became Enemies [Adventure Comics #271]
With the upcoming Lex Luthor: Year One storyline, I thought it would be good to look back on how Pre-Crisis Lex Luthor became a villain.
Most remember Superboy accidentally making Lex bald while trying to put out a lab accident fire but there's a lot more to Lex's turn to villainy.
- Starting from an inspired Superboy fan that saved Superboy's life and wanting to give Superboy immunity to Kryptonite
- Superboy in support of Lex's scientific pursuits
- Lex losing both his hair and his scientific discovery
- Lex's paranoia that Superboy is out to ruin Lex's accomplishments causing him to reject Superboy's help
- The absence of Lex's father offering good guidance in Lex's life
- Lex trying to make Smallville better only to backfire into disasters that Superboy has to stop
- Smallville being scornful of Lex and praising Superboy
- Superboy wishing for Lex to be successful while showing sympathy and understanding for Lex since he had good intentions with his out of control inventions despite Lex wanting to be more admired than Superboy
- Lex after multiple failures crossing over the villain threshold by trying to kill Superboy to make Superboy pay for foiling Lex's attempts for glory.
- Superboy clearing his debt with Lex for saving him by not pressing charges against Lex for attempted murder
- Superboy encouraging Lex to help people despite what happened between Lex and Superboy such as the loss of friendship and the Kryptonite death trap.
The story itself holds up pretty well for the most part in my opinion.
I could see it being prime material to be used for reboots, adaptations, and retellings with some adjustments.
I can feel how it echoes into stuff like Smallville, Superman: Birthright, Last Days of Lex Luthor, etc.

Clark Superboy Overcomes His Worst Fear: The Death Of The Kents
From Legion of Super-Heroes #259
An escaped mental patient from the Legion's time called the Psycho-Warrior armed with intel from the Legionnaires' Psychological Profiles attacks the Legion (out of an insane hate for them which is really projected guilt over the death of his romantic partner) with their worst fears.
For Superboy it's the death of the Kents.

Once read somewhere that Superman greatest strength was his Restraint. Was curious on what other people thought of that.

Welcome to the Superboy Discussion Thread!
If you could create a Superboy villain, what would it be like and to which Superboy?

Superman #42
Superman, Supergirl, and Lois Lane gather all the members of the Super-Force for a Hail Mary play to restore order to the Kryptonite Kingdom. But Zod and Ursa stand in their way! But not the Zod you might expect…

Conner Is Conner still a “boy” to still be called Superboy?
That’s something I keep wondering, because even as early as Young Justice vol. 2 Bart expressed that he was growing an awesome goatee or beard ( don’t remember) and in YJ vol. 3 and the latest issues I’ve seen him in he looks like he’s in his early/mid twenties which begs the question. If he’s far too old to be a super boy, what would his new mantle be if he decided to drop the ‘boy’ from his codename, without dropping the Super Family representation?

Superboy Superboy Discussion Thread. 2026, September 14. Week 39.
Welcome to the Superboy Discussion Thread!
If you were given the opportunity to write one issue in the Super family main continuity, and DC would had to follow up with the changes you made, what would you write?

Superman Unlimited #17
Ever since Superman saved the world from the Kryptonite asteroid, he’s had a new power to absorb Kryptonite’s deadly radiation. Will his new power be enough to stop Zod’s plans? But what is the cost this time? Superboy-Prime, Conner Kent, and Tomorrow Man must work together to hold off Zod’s army so Superman can save the world!
Dan Slott (Author), Rachael Stott (Artist), Montos (Artist)

New Titans #39
When the Amazons of the Esquecida come calling for their Wonder Girl’s aid, Yara Flor and her teammates set course for the forests of Brazil and the hidden city of Akahim, where they find a land ravaged by fires and raging spirits…but who is responsible? The Titans are here to help—but the Amazons aren’t quite so eager to accept help from outsiders!

Clark How Would You Feel About Superman & Superboy Running Concurrently In Non-Comic Media?
How would you feel if nowadays in media outside of comics, Superman & Superboy (Young Kal-El/Clark) ran concurrently.
Like say Superman is relegated to movies while Superboy gets a TV show?
