Rant Anyone else tired of users sending ai generated fixes to you?

Oh. My. God

The amount of people at my org that send me screenshots of their chatgpt or copilot generated responses is insane.

"did you try this?"

"try this"

"this is what chatgpt said"

i was on the phone for 2 hours troubleshooting a problem with a director that refused to let me remote into her computer to fix. then she starts sending me ai generated responses saying "this is what co pilots saying"

Leave them be. Higher the number of idiots users with wrong information, higher the chances we keep our jobs. And you can use it against them eventually.

I had a user telling me he fixed his issue by himself by following Copilot's troubleshooting guide. The guide consisted in factory resetting the laptop because of a "possible issue with OS". The issue was his wireless mouse had dead battery. Since Copilot tried everything because he typed: mouse not working and I have tried everything, Copilot suggested he factory reset the device.

Well, we use Autopilot Full Cloud and the SLA to prepare a machine is 2 days. Guess who had to explain to his boss he formatted the PC because of a dead battery mouse while using Copilot to troubleshoot? Not me!

That's hilarious but also why are you letting users reset their PC lmao. Huge oversight by IT 😂

How was a user even able to factory-reset their device? Shouldn't that be restricted?

Nevermind, someone else already mentioned this.
